Respectable, and suggestive that the Tigers still have at least an outside chance of an NCAA bid.  What would seem to be helpful to the Tigers' chances are:

  • Two solid wins against Johns Hopkins and RMC
  • Loss(es) by the runnerup(s) in the conferences of Central/Coe/Wartburg, Concordia-Moorhead/St. Olaf, Alfred/St. John Fisher/Ithaca, John Carroll/Capital, Augustana/ Nrth Central, and Union/Hobart/RPI, as well as losses by Whitworth, DePauw, Huntingdon, Hardin-Simmons

New NCAA Regional Rankings are up. Its a thing of beauty.

Algernon,
Because of ASC rules, Hardin-Simmons will be the AQ because UMHB's in league winning percentage is not as high.  UMHB lost a game due to Rita and thus only has a 9 game schedule.

Thanks for the info on the ASC.  Both Hardin-Simmons and UMHB have a couple of games left and I guess it's possible that either team could still be the only remaining 1-conference-loss team and win their AQ.  It would be good for HSC if the loser of the AQ suffers a second loss -- let's say that Hardin-Simmons loses to Texas Lutheran.

If you saw the game in person or read accounts of the game, you may think the Cardinals should have tried to run some to use up time.

If you look at the season stats, you understand why Catholic chose not to run the ball in the 4th against Emory. Catholic still needed a first down, and would you rather try to get that running the clock down with a running game that averages .8 yards per rush, or throwing to the #1 receiver in D3. In hindsight Catholic should have rushed it, but that wouldn't have necessarily wrapped up the game either.

In regards to this weekend, I'm pretty sure the game will be at Dufour. The field has been worked on, and although there isn't much resemblance of grass on the  middle of the field, it will be dry atleast.
