franknizy,
Your statement about Lutz shows that you have no idea of what an acomplishment taking the worst team in the ODAC since the birth of the confrence to a confrence championship is.  To compare Lutz and Ricca in the categories in which most great quarterbacks are measured: Lutz ODAC titles: 1  Playoff Appearences: 2  Playoff victories: 4  South Region Championships: 1; Ricca  ODAC titles: 0  Playoff Appearences: 0  Playoff victories: 0  South Region Championships: 0.  So now considering that the stats between the two are a push, who was the better quarterback?

The answer is Jason Lutz.

That BC defensive player was Jermaine Taylor.  And the only ODAC player I've ever seen that is as good as JT was Lutz.

I'll see Bublavi on Saturday and let you know.

I'm sure you can't wait to hear my opinion.

;D

I'm looking forward to seeing Bublavi too!  Yes JT was a beast!  Did you realize that BC national champion runner-up squad had THREE players on it that won the ODAC's 100m dash?  (JT, Richardson, Cruz)

Ah, don't forget SkoalTrain getting ODAC Player of the Year in 1991 in Track & Field.

Oh, wait!  I wasn't on the National Champion runner-up team in 2001.....but I was in attendance.

I know, shameless plug....Sorry guys.....I couldn't let that 30 second memory pass without tooting my own horn.  Now I'll wait for Rugbyguy to come on here and claim how much "faster" he is than me......Oh boy...Here we go!!!

Rugby Guy...I checked with Skoal's wife...she confirmed that Skoal is damned fast (actually she said too fast).

Rugby Guy

I'm sure he won't be winning "playa of the year" with that kind of speed.

norton

Is there a "player of the minute" award?

Rugby Guy

Speaking of...I hear he was heavily recruited by UMass.  What better guy to be the mascot for the Minutemen?

norton

He would have been a "my-noot" man...what a co-incidence.

norton

JD would be proud to be compared to Lutz...I saw him play and he was a great qb...he actually reminded me of JD's older brother Kevin...both were tough ,hard-nosed leaders who could beat you throwing or running.

The comparisons are brought up since franknizy claimed that JD was "the best quarterback in the history of the ODAC."  While I don't believe him to be better that Lutz, I think that it is legit to compare the best players that these two schools have to offer.  You HSC guys can correct me if I am wrong to assume that JD Ricca is the best quarterback ya'll have ever had, but I am sure that most BC fans will agree that Jason Lutz is the best quaterback that BC has ever had play for Bridgewater.

partlows rmc team went 5-5 that year.  Hsc is 8-2. big difference

Partlow's R-MC team went 4-2 in the ODAC that year.  Ricca's H-SC might go 4-2 in the ODAC this year.

No difference.

And Notarfrancesco's CUA team went 5-0 in the ODAC in 1999.  Partlow's R-MC team went 4-2 that year.  Washington's BC team will likely finish 6-0.  Ricca's team will likely finish 4-2.

Notarfrancesco averaged 5.5 yards a carry and 23 total TDs (19 rushing, 4 receiving) in a very balanced CUA offensive attack much like Bridgewater's.  Notarfrancesco didn't have a Young behind him, so he averaged a little more healthy 127 rushing ypg total compared to Washington's 93.4.

So it looks/sounds like all Washington is missing is 20 or 30 more rushing yards and a couple games back from injury.

34 yards rushing more per game is a lot.  Notafrancesco was a 1000 yard back, while Washington isn't even a 700-yard back.  Plus Ricca's stats are better than Partlow's stats.

Kid, you don't see the difference between 8-2 and 5-5?

If there's no difference in that, then maybe you won't see any difference in this next comparison either...

Last year, BC went 6-0 in the ODAC and had a Running Back with 600+ yards and 15 TDs (similar to Washington's 676 yards rushing, 19 TDs), and yet, the ODAC Offensive Player of the Year award still went to a player on the 2nd place team.

Oh wait, I get it. You just want to look at ODAC numbers..thus the 4-2 = 4-2.

That begs me to ask...
Why does the ODAC include results from non-ODAC games for their statistical leaders?

I mean, without non-conference games, Washington's season looks like this through 5 ODAC games (and possibly 6 if he's out this week):
48 carries for 334 yards (less than 7 yards a carry) and 5 rushing TDs.

Yes, a Heisman candidate: www.voteforheisman.com
But I think J.D. Ricca and Bublavi are more deserving of the ODAC's Offensive Player of the Year award this year.

Hmmm I can't quite place my finger on it, but this situation sounds familiar.
