Miz,

Hmm, interesting point.  But, adding a twist to your logic...

Did you know that Marcus Washington has 8 carries for 11 yards, 1.4ypc, 0 TDs, 0 receptions in his 2 games the past 2 regular seasons against nationally ranked teams headed to the playoffs.  Since that's what Ricca was going against in your comparison, I thought it would only be fair for Marcus to be weighed against that criteria.  Oh, BC lost both of those games too.

Now, why is he "the best" player in the ODAC?  ??? :-\

[...] 2002 singh had 86 catches, not sure how many completios ricca had, but it can't be much more than 206 [...]

Ricca had 10 completions in 2002 in mop-up duty for Mac Russell ... he averaged 11.5 yards a completion that year.

It is interesting that Conrad Singh (in 2002) had the lowest yards-per-catch out of the five receivers who gained more than 100 yards that season ... he averaged 9.7 yards a catch, compared to 22.0, 15.1, 13.8, and 11.4 by the other four receivers.

Now in 2003, things changed.  Singh averaged 14.5 yards per reception, with Ricca throwing the ball 14.7 yards each completion.

Well, that's a tad bit unfair to compare ... Marcus didn't play in the 2003 game versus CNU ... so those numbers are from the 2004 game versus CNU, in which Marcus didn't even play after the first possession of the second half (injury? not sure).

Llama,
You don't need to point it out every time that someone who knows more about football than you and I combined says the same thing.

Of course I do RM, you brought up that I said it at Catholic and that was true, no big deal, just pointing out a coincidence. Now as for opinions, you have one on everything and thats cool. I never claimed to know all about Football. I will stick to what I do know most about which is tailgating and you stick to Religion and we will all be fine. ;)

In the last 2 years the Ricca-led HSC offense has scored 28 points both times against the Bridgewater d...in the same 2 seasons McDaniel has scored 14 points (total) ...Shenandoah has scored 13 points (total)...CNU has scored 16,3 and 21 in the three games...E&H has scored 24 total...Ricca must be doing something right...( in all fairness let me mention the 66 and 55 that Mount Union and W&J slapped on in the last 2 playoff games)

Isn't tailgating a form of religion? We do take communion don't we?

I will agree with you that I am opinionated.  I will also state that I have gotten myself into trouble by sharing those oppinions.   I do not claim to always be right in all of those oppinions.  And yes we all do have an area of expertise, but the beauty of this board is that even the unqualified football mind (see myself since I have not played football past high school) can offer an oppinion.  I was not attempting to say that either of us was an expert on football.  While tailgating is the area that you can claim to be an expert in, along with Skoal (as my taste buds will attest to).  Feel free to correct me if I am wrong in this, but I do believe that we started this conversation by me admiting that I was wrong in one of those freely stated oppinons.

That's two more playoff games than H-SC has played in :)

The Ricca-led H-SC offense is also 0-2 over those two seasons versus BC ... while McD, SU, and CNU went a combined 3-3.

Their teams must be doing something right.

I voted for Ricca HOWEVER.. Kim, just how many ODAC rings does a Ricca led HSC team have?  How many times have they made it into the playoffs?  How many times over the past 2 years has Ricca put away a playoff caliber team?  Ricca is a good player, but stop now before Kid walks all over you!  :o

Can you feel/hear/sense that, football fans???  It is our favorite
time of the year.

I'm a 94 E&H grad and I can't tell you how excited we are to feel
this enthused.  A new beginning and perhaps a start on "Returning to Glory"!

Woods has THE gun! Scrimmage sounds like it went well.  Hopefully, we have
another franchise coach in Coach Monty.

Return or not, it is fun to be excited about every Saturday thinking about the
Blue and Gold.  I'm 8 hours away so I will only be able to go to a couple of games.

In the past, D3 posters have done a great job sticking together posting scores.
Hope that will continue!

Go Wasps!

2004: BC 37-HSC 28
2003: BC 31-HSC 28

I'm starting to think Ricca should change his jersey number to.. oh I don't know 28?   It's impressive that Ricca's helped to put up 28 on BC in back to back seasons but it really hasn't gotten HSC anywhere.

Nono, I'm done.  If I continue on, I'll be charged with an online misdemeanor.  They are simply sticking up for H-SC like I am for BC, I respect that.  I do enjoy there being more H-SC and E&H voices on here.

For the record: McDaniel has scored 24 points (total) against Bridgewater in the past two years, not 14. 10 of those points were scored by a first-time starter at Jopson who was replaced by a freshman in the third week of the '03 season.

fyi, the 2003 hampden-sydney 28 points came from a blocked punt and 3 runs. just wanted to throw that out there
