Olinemom - Make sure you bring those brownies to Greensboro next year.  I will be by to grab a few!  lol  I agree - next year's game might be a true test for both teams.  If will be interesting to see if GC can toughen their defense and bring everyone back on offense.  Historically, Guilford students and fans can be a bit complacent at times, but winning, especially with a high-powered offense, sometimes brings folks out.  Hopefully, the stadium renovations (and the new retractable roof lol) will be ready as planned by the time the season starts and GC will be ready for an influx of Eagle-boosters with an enthusiastic crowd of their own!  Go Quakers!

Be assured we will be there with beads on. Bridgewater travels 1500 plus fans to all games that matter. Make the 2006 affair matter and they will come.

What the GC boys need is this 6'2' 301 lb run stuffer but he 's gone..... and maybe just maybe they go 7-3.

QuoteNotar and Boyle each played in every game in 99, and their stats back up the fact that Notar was sharing time with another talented back, and still managed to put up numbers that were better than Washington's this year.

Notar was probably the most dominant RB I've ever seen in the ODAC. A punishing grinder. Very different from the type of quick and shifty BC backs with break away speed. Each is outstanding in different ways but i think if you check, all of them have played behind some veteran OLinemen. I believe, during their tenure, both Notar and Boyle have had  AA's making holes for them as have some of the more prolific BC RBs.

IMO the more experienced OLine is the single most important factor contributing to BC's outstanding offensive production this year

Disregard my last post I cannot put what I want in there.

PAT Coleman please delete the attachment as I cannot figure it out. I would appreciate your help.  :)

The Quakers could use him again!  Unfortunately, I don't think the NCAA and the ODAC would let us.  lol

GCOL, Trenches and other Quakers -

Good luck Saturday vs. E&H.  Finishing 5-5 would be huge, but don't underestimate the Wasps.  They've got good coaching and good athletes - they want to win their last game, too!  I can tell you, there are a lot of Guilford alumni who have followed your great progress this year and are rooting for you.  Go Quakers!
I have one game left in my career.  There is nothing i want to do more than finish the season at .500, the best record for GC since tying for 1st at 8-2 in '97, and beating E&H, who we haven't beaten since 2001.

I know, Jon.  I understand completely.  It was the same when I played soccer at GC.  For the underclassmen, there is always next year.  For a Senior, however, this is the memory you'll carry with you.  Leave it all on the field and you'll have no regrets.  Good luck.  Go Quakers!

PS An 8-2 finish has been accomplished by Guilford more than once.  I think in 1975 and I know in 1991 and 1997.  I believe there have been some other 8-2 seasons, but I don't have them memorized.  Also, in the mid-eighties, a group of Seniors graduated with a winning record for all four of their years at Guilford.  Think of the 5-5 you guys can earn this year as the stepping-stone for more winning Quaker football to come.  Thanks for that accomplishment.

I agree.

GCOL

Im pretty sure there have been more than 1 8-2 seasons, I'm just saying a 5-5 finish will be our best record since the last time we finished 8-2

Yeah, I understood what you meant.  I think Coach Grayson might have also been on an 8-2 squad in the 60's - you might want to ask him.  I watched over half the games in 1991 and in 1997.  The guys finished at home both years and were a happy bunch of Quakers!

DNR reports that BC will drop a spot in this weeks regional rankings from 5 to 6 behind Wesley. Clark also states that he will just worry about beating Catholic, and leave the playoff projections to the d3.com guys.

Ehh, not sure Wesley moving above us matters all that much.  They are a likely candidate for shipping to the East.

This is my understanding of what needs to happen if BC is to get a home game;

(a) Beat Catholic

(b) CNU upsets Ferrum or Carnegie Mellon upsets Thiel
