so.....according to llama's reports BC wants Ferrum right?  We can stop the run, so they seem like they would be a good fit for our D

Kid...whats this ECAC game you are talking about? And if for some unknown reason HSU and Depauw lose this weekend...will that help HSC chances to make the playoffs?

Unfortunately, Hampden-Sydney needs a lot of things to happen to get in the dance.

As for the ECAC, it's a NCAA 'wanna be' that puts on post-season championships or tournaments for all sports for school's that don't make it to the NCAA playoffs.  Like right now, volleyball, field hockey, and men's and women's soccer tournaments are going on.

For football, they have six "championship" games ... one for each of the following "regions": NE, SE, NA, SA, NW, SW.

All six games are played on November 19 (same day as the first round NCAA games).  Winners of the six games get pretty sweet trophies (I remember seeing a couple in the trophy cases at Hopkins).

You school (coach) has to declare themselves for the ECAC games, and the last three years that H-SC has gone 8-2 or 9-1, I believe you all didn't declare.  It might be a Coach Favret thing (not wanting a post-season game unless it's "the real thing") or perhaps it's a school rule.

It's too late to declare now, the deadline was November 3rd.  I'm thinking since H-SC lost twice before the declaration deadline, that Favret signed up.  Last couple years I believe you all still had a chance to get an at-large bid to the NCAA playoffs ... so Favret probably didn't bother.  Then again, like I said before, maybe Favret feels (or the school) that it's either the NCAA playoffs or no playoffs.

Hmm ... not so fast!  Other than McDaniel (who beat us), what school have we faced (currently with a winning record) that runs the ball?

We haven't faced a Mary Hardin-Baylor, Thiel, or Ferrum type running attack yet.  They are the real deal.

PS Is the basketball exhibition game with the Italian team in Ragan-Brown tonight or in Alumni Gym as it was last year?
The game was in Reagan-Brown.  I know its a litle late, but we did win 80-76.

I actually don't know who Trenches is, bc I haven't asked around to find out, but I'll find out for you.

Thanks. Jon.  Actually, I just got home from the game.  Several new players this year.  Freshman #23 George Neville impressed me as did freshman #50 Barry Wells at times.   Ben Strong was, well, strong.  lol  I had him with 22 points and a couple of blocks, but that's unofficial.  I hope Belkoski is OK - I never saw him back after he hurt his ankle.  Just as a lot of our opponents did last year, the Italians played good FT defense.  lol  I hope that isn't our Achilles heel again this season.

I dont know.  We'll have to see, but the team def. looked good.  I didn;t get there until about 8 min left in the first half so I missed Beloski getting hurt, but I saw him on cruches the rest of the game.  He just had an ace wrap on it so I'm thinking sprain, but that can sometimes be worse.  Where were you sitting at?  I was right behind GC bench beside the trainers.

How bout that team of the week.
Very nice!  I just looked.  Congratulations to you and the rest of the O-line.  Same goes for WR Chris Barnette - he had a great game.  I guess you saw Pat Cummings' section in ATR about the QB matchup last week at CUA.  Vogelbach is getting a lot of press as well.

Kudos also to Winston Young from BC.  That makes 7 ODAC guys with Team of the Week recognition this week.

Congrats Jon and the rest of you OLers!

For 73 passes, amazing you didn't allow a sack to the conference's #1 sack team (Catholic).

I hope Eric B. only has a sprain as well - that was what I thought happened.  I was sitting about seven or eight rows up in the middle across from the Italian coaches - maybe 10-12 feet closer to the open end of the gym than the halfcourt line.  There were about 25 or so 17-20 year old females right behind me.  I'm sure you looked that way a time or two.  lol  Max Carter was also about three or four rows behind me - he's pretty hard to miss too.  lol

Thanks Kid.

Nova, Josh is getting alot of press, and to me it means the world, bc without us letting him get the ball off he does.  His press is our press to me.  So i hope he keeps getting it.

I would much rather see Ferrum than the other two you mentioned in Round 1. ;)
