Llama,
I would rather see BC play Ferrum too.  I think BC would def. win between the two, not that Ferrum isn't due a whole lot of credit for a great season.  I just see BC as be able to beat them.

Thanks Kid.

Nova, Josh is getting alot of press, and to me it means the world, bc without us letting him get the ball off he does.  His press is our press to me.  So i hope he keeps getting it.
You're right.  Unfortunately, the O-line sometimes only gets noticed when there is a penalty, but people "who know" know what's going on to build those kinds of numbers for Josh and the receivers.  I appreciate it and the coaches do too.

Im sure I looked that way, and no I definately didn't miss Max. lol  There was a whole lot of people right in that little area.
Well, I'm 6'1" and about 195 pounds - glasses, dark hair with a little gray.  I had on jeans and a navy sweater and worked on a crossword a little during breaks.  Max was right behind me a few rows up, but I'm clean shaven, so I'd be easy to miss.  lol  Hopefully, I'll find you Saturday and say hello.

I see a big crowd for a BC/Ferrum matchup, regardless of the venue and the final regular season records, but ... the scene at Ferrum will be nuts if they go into a home play-off game at 10-0.  And I know BC will bring a lot of folks down to Franklin County as well.  I agree with GCOL ...  I also think BC would win that match-up, but I would shave a few points off the spread if it's at Ferrum.

lol  All our games matter.  I'm sorry yours don't.

LOL nova. I'll expand even though I know you know what I mean.
In matters, I mean to the fans travel schedule!
Case and point: At HSC this year BC traveled about 1500 fans.
At W&L we traveled about 2500.
At E&H we traveled about 400.

If the game has ODAC implications, that is Guilford has a winning record still when they play BC next year, the fans will come.

I was at Guilford last year and we brought about 100 fans. Yes we knew we would win by about 30 so non diehard fans decided not to make the 3 hr trip. The president of BC was on the sidelines that day though. Shows alittle about the commitment BC has to their football program. Oh, on  a side note, our 100 fans out numbered the 80 or so fans that the home Guilford crowd placed in the stands in 2004. :-\

Oh, and thanks for the Karma hit as I was stating a valid point, not being a smartazz. The initial comment was that GC hoped alot of BC fans came down for a great game in 2006. ;)
Hasanova, I was there too.  Got the BC QB to drive me home becauuse it was so far away. It's a long way for those of us older than dirt!!   Why we had at least 50+ that went out to Indiana this fall (8hours+ one wayand there was no bus)and I went there as well!!  Since I used to teach at HPU, I enjoy going to the Greensboro area and I'll be there .  I'll be the one with the Eagle tatto on the left cheek and the brownies in my hand :) :).
While I'm at it.  Go RMC this weekend!  Go GC this Weekend.  May the mighty CNU beat the crap out of Ferrum and I would love for Thiel to lose as well.  Just a nice wish list from the Olinemom!  LOL
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

Well if we can get the committee to bless us with Ferrum. (More for the short drive than for the opponent as I agree it will be a tough game as in the playoffs they all are) I personally invite you Guilford guys up to Stone Station at Ferrum. I guarantee we will have a blowout tailgate and it will be a good game to watch.

Brian Awkard said today in the DNR that, if BC had to go onthe road in the first round, he would like to take the trip to Texas on a plane, instead of a long bus trip.  I know this is unlikely because of the NCAA rules on travel, but what a comment.  His comments were because he said "it would feel more professional" but isnt it likely that the Texas teams would pose more of a threat than either Theil or Ferrum?  I dont know much about either team really.
You know, bcsportswriter, sometimes Brian just likes to talk a big game, just for the sake of talking.  He surely does miss the sports writer from last year that he brought right into my class one day as he was spending the day following Brian around.   There is such as thing as too much publicity.  I think Ferrum or Thiel are the more likely opponents.  And if they both win this Saturday, then we come calling on them.  I got to see MHB last year as the Stone Station crew jaunted down to the Stagg Bowl for that game.  I had promised the guys from MHB that if they beat Mount Union at home, I would come and bring brownies and cheer for them.  Linfield ended up winning the game.  But I can tell you that the guys from Texas went home on the plane with Virginia brownies because my word is good.

Yeah, someone has to be the farthest road game and I guess that puts CUA to the North, E&H in the West and GC in the South.  It is a commitment to make the trip, but this area has a lot to do if you know your way around.  I spent a lot of time at HPU - then HPC - when I was in college, but that's another story.  lol  Thanks for the brownie offer - don't be surprised if I show up to cash in on that.  Don't hide who you want to win this weekend - let us know how you really feel.  lol  Good luck to BC in the postseason - the Eagles are a fine team.

GCOL

I would definately like to see the BC Ferrum match up and if it happens I might go to that game.  I hope you guys can win it all even.  Good luck sat, Good luck to RMC too, lord knows id like to be tied in 2nds with only W&L.  LOL

Go Quakers

Thanks - that sounds "doable" and fun.  I like good football and I know BC/Ferrum would be a great game.  Let me see how the playoffs shape up and then we'll make a plan.  I'll make you a promise - if the Eagles are playing in the Stagg Bowl, I'll make the trip and help you muster up a little ODAC pride.  If GCOL or some of the other GC guys want to go, I'll take them along too.  Fair enough?

Regardless of BC being in the Stagg, you should come up anyway. Stone Station also tailgates in the the parkinglot at the Stagg Bowl. We will probably set-up there around 9 am again this year. Are we nuts or what? I have been to every Stagg since 2001 and haven't been disappointed once. Its great to meet new posters and last year especially since both teams were from so far away. If you can swing it a Stagg trip is a must!

Sounds like a plan nova.  I wont go to the Stagg bowl tho unless BC is in it.

Pat Coleman

You should go anyway, see what it's like at that level. Besides, it is really turning into a D-III party.

BC's coaches and a fair number of the team went to the Stagg in 2000 to see the real competetion. They coined the slogan "Why not us?" and ended up there on the field in 2001! Its D3football on center stage. For a couple hours atleast. :-\

You got that right Pat! Those fans thought I was crazy flying the BC Football Flags in the parkinglot that day. They said Bridgewater isn't even playing. I say yes I'm a BC fan, but also I'm a fan of all D3 football and that is why I have come to D3's Greatest Cocktail Party. Even if it has to be Bloody Mary's since it was so early last year. :o
