I always like how schools who are just starting to create a football tradition talk really big. While the schools who have had many long years of football success hold back with wisdom and wait to see who produces on the field on game day.  When the players start to produce in the current year then I will make a judgement on who is the better player. Also as far as I'm concerned, every school in the ODAC is starting the season with a grade of F. The schools that want to get an A at the end of the season are going to have to put the W's on the board.

The bottom line is, screens or deep balls, wins or losses, Ricca is much more valuable to his team than Washington is to his.  Furthermore, Ricca is an offensive machine.  If you want to talk about production, don't even compare Ricca to Washington.

Decent point here, but having played against the 'Water squad of 2001 (along with those of 98, 99 and '00) and seeing the lack of drop off when Cruz AND Lutz left (along with a very strong supporting cast), there was no tangible drop in the team's success... same can be said for Sydney, Favret is a stallion.  The Sydney offensive scheme is strong and is not reminiscent of the 1999 Randolph-Macon Fun N' Gun which got dismanted in 2000 when their stud quarterback -- Partlow -- left the building and their "stud" receiver -- Becker -- did nothing next year.  Mac Russell is good and so is Ricca, but both are not better than their surrounding casts nor schemes.... we'll see who emerges as the conference stud this year.l...

I bet you are on of those a$$clowns in the end zone at E&H... all class, I love seeing E&H be a bottom dweller of the ODAC

I don't think EHCTailgate got the memo on "prognosticating."

Someone fill him in, I don't want to waste the key strokes...

E&H - bitter that they are no longer good,  "end-zone crowd" - anyone who has been there knows...

Then again some of us enjoy talking "big" because we were a part of the success of some of those recent HSC/BC teams.  I think we have every right to enjoy our success some of us worked hard and earned it.  When some of us are/were busy drinking a beer at 5:23  in the afternoon some of us were hard at work on the football field trying to beat teams like E&H and we made progress and later went further than any other ODAC team has yet to go in the playoffs.   We can talk big because we've done something BIG.

As I said,  those of us who are wise, keep our mouths shut and wait and see's who put's the W's on the board. Emory's past doesn't mean a thing unless we can live up to it in the current year. The past few years we have not done that. It is time for the current guys to step up and prove their worth.

The rest continue the hard work to knock off those on the top and remain respectful until that happens!!!!  On another note, those of us a few years past our days are damn well allowed / encouraged to be popping a few cold ones at 5:23....

LOL--I'm Telling you it's a "New Era" when I'm sitting here watching an old Gennie fire shots at someone other than Eagles. Gotta be careful though ...don't want folks to get POed and leave the board ;).

Bubblavi was my pick as well based on the outstanding production he had surrounded by a less than stellar cast.  On the other hand , the Kid just about converted me to  to the washington camp though.

Miz,
Love your insightful commentary and bitting wit. FYI - I'm looking forward to tailgating with my kid on saturday. He's looking forward to seeing some of the "Old School Crew".

Well said new era, but why you gotta' pick on poor Guilford?   :'(

if this vote is an MVP vote, then i'd change my vote to bublavi, then ricca. i read it as best player. in which case i'd take marcus in a minute... i'd take a few bridgewater players. then again, i haven't watched the odac much since i left. did witness the mcdaniel, h-sc, w&l (i think) and w&j games last year.

HSCTIGER2

I told myself I would never get involved in posting on this board once I graduated, but obviously i've caved...

To any of the Tigers checking this out, good luck on Saturday. Take care of business, and hopefully I'll get to catch up with a lot of you when the dust has settled...Looking forward to seeing the team in action on the flip side, rather than suited up.

I know that this is a heavily BC biased board, but any HSC guys out there planning on heading to the game, send an email or call.

Good luck to all the ODAC teams this year, I just hope better luck for the Tigers 8)
