I think Alton will step in and play well at LB Saturday. As for Craig Smith's return in '06 he was our leading tackler in 2004 so his leadership is matched by a good contribution on the field.

Not only Alton, but Leland Elliott (had 11 tackles in the W&L game), Brandon Kelley, and freshman Arkady Kurihine (among others).  Waddell's energy level can't be replaced, but we have some studs at LB.

Saw a debate on here as well regarding backs...

Devon was pretty nasty and was materially better than Boyle.  Boyle his senior year was not impressive to say the least..

if we really want to turn back the clock, Oliver Jordan from E&H in the late 90s was nasty...

any debate regarding running backs needs to include Marc Watson and Chris Sullivan

Notar had some good stats, but I doubt he would have been able to put those up against real ODAC competition
New era,
All the backs you named were nasty but your assesments of Notar are off way. Jordan was nasty but against CUA 16 carries for 36 yards 1 TD (Notar  22 for 165 2TDs)
If you are talking about W&L being the "real ODAC competition", they would not even play CUA in 99 ", and they voted against them joining the ODAC. but in 2000 CUA won 47-0 holding your Watson/Sullivan combo to 15 carries for 23 yards. THats nasty. while Boyle rushed for 197 on 33 carries with 4 tds (He was hurt his senior year and should redshirted.)
Notar stats against the ODAC (In a balanced Offense unlike Jordan, Sullivan, and Watson)
RMC 28 for 162
HSC 21 for 96 4 tds
E&H 22 for 165 2 TDs
GC 35 for 187 1TD
BC 25 for 233 2 tds
Should I count Salisbury since that counted as our other ODAC game because the Generals would not play CUA. 20 for 131 3 tds
Just backing up my boy because he would not say anything even if he was still reading this.

My question is on the "brackets" since they are not "seedings".

If Wesley is "slotted" higher than BC, why do they have to play the Texas winner in the second round?  Shouldn't they have played the Thiel/JHU winner with the BC/W&J winner playing the Texas team?

I just don't understand the illogic of all this.

But I love it.

just want to make sure everyone knows that i was joking about wakefield not knowing the offense... i know he reads the board and i wanted to get him riled up (especially after all those anti-bc posts before the hsc game)...  wake did a great job in his time here and will be a very good coach in his day. i wouldn't have 'recruited' him from w&m if i didn't think he was any good... and he doubles as WR/QB coach at w&j.

kid: nice.

also, do we really need to post what our signals and adjustments for wakefield and W&J are going to be on the internet for everyone to read?

Outsider,

I agree with you.  The less W & J knows the better.  If that means those of us on this board can't know, either, I am fine with that.

To go along with wadell's suspension, I heard through the mill that defensive co-ordinator Grant Higginson would not be on the field this week, but would have to sit up on the press box where Coach Colbert sits.  Anyone else know if this is true?

Hopefully the main adjustment for the W&J vs BC game will be the refs. Hopefully we can get some home team calls. Though I am hoping they will not be needed.

Hope so, so we can get out of that 3 down lineman cover 3 defense he always calls no matter down or distance.

Outsider- I dont know if that comment was directed at one of my earlier posts, but if so I would say that its pretty common knowledge what Defense we will run against a team that throws the ball around the field like W&J.  And if it wasnt, they will see it on film.  I wasnt trying to give any information away.  Apologies if i went too far though.

Good luck to BC this weekend from R-MC.  I'll probably be up at the game, being as after this year I have precious few chances to see (and participate in ) a playoff game.  Kick some ass for the ODAC

Nine if you count George Mason!  ;D
kid, I know all about the George Mason University "game," but since the NCAA and the ODAC don't count it, neither did I.  Eight/nine ... (13/14?) ... it's a nice streak either way.

i know kid. you got us.

writer, wasn't directed at anyone in particular. i was trying to squash something before it started...
