Way to step up defense.  Great game BC.  We need to fix the turnover problems before next week, but other than that great effort. ;D

Lewis is a good QB so don't take me wrong when I say it may have been fortunate that he couldn't play this game.  On W&J's sideline, Wakefield knows every passing play the Eagles run.  Adding Highfill's running ability really started to open things up, and it didn't look like W&J was prepared for a running QB.

Defense was huge.  I believe I heard PAC Player of the Year, W&J QB Chris Edwards was 22-57  for under 300 and 4 INTs.  He looked flustered and out of sinc the entire 3rd quarter when BC built its lead.  They gave up a 55-yard on a short pass that went the distance, but besides that, the 2 other scores were only after BC turnovers inside the 20.

It's kind of ironic that the knock on BC all year has been their supposed lack of a stellar defense, because today the defense absolutely stepped up and stifled one of the most prolific offenses in D-3.  They harassed the QB all day, and never really let him get a good drive  going.  Of the 3 TD's that they gave up, two were gift-wrapped in the form of turnovers, and the other was a short pass that got away from them.  The main opportunity for improvement that I could see is defending the short passing game.  They did alright defending the deep ball, but on a lot of the short slants the receiver was wide open.  Offense needs to cut down on the turnovers, and possibly scale back on running the option, as that was not working at all today.

Overall, great game for us, and hopefully we can keep this thing going and take it to the other western PA team next week!

nice win eagles...you ruined my pick 'em bracket, but nice win anyway - i was rooting for you, but thought w&j would get the better of the eagles - bc sure does know how to play, come playoff time - again, great win!

Wow. What a great win for BC. I have to give our D props after our best defensive performance since 2003.
2 of the W&J TD's were on drives of 7 and 15 yards I think after we turned it over to W&J. The key play may have been the fumble recovery by BC after the Awkard fumble on his own 12 on the punt return. It looked like The Presidents had it but the BC guy made a heads up play to recover the ball. If W&J had gotten it I think they would have won.
I can't say enough about Lewis. Jake worked hard his whole career for this day and it must have been heartbreaking to have to tell Coach Clark he was not 100
% with the thumb sprain (after hitting it on a helmet on the last play in practice) and that Jeff would be the better choice at QB. That would be an extremely tough thing to say on your final home game with all that was at stake. Maybe next week?
Jeff was very steady other than the botched shovel pass and the errant option toss as well as the run into Winston and the fumble that cut it to 16-14.
For our D to hold Edwards to 22 of 57 with 4 INT's as well as playing great run D was awesome and shades of 2003. It was that kind of performance.
Jeff passed well and ran well. Blackwell hitting the 48 yarder was huge although he missed a PAT and a 37 yarder later. The wind changed and was tricky.
Winston's 84 yard TD run was just awesome. As Coach Colbert told the BC kids at the half."We have to keep pounding it with the run. Eventually Marcus or Winston is going to break a long gainer."
W&J played good run D until Winston's 84 yard run that will go down as one of the more memorable plays in BC sports history.
Awkard had an excellent punt return to the 15 to set up a BC TD. I got to sit near Brian's family and to say we cheered on that play and held our breath later on the fumble is an understatement.
Classy and unselfish move Jake. Get well soon Mr. Lewis.
  Go BC! Thiel Thanksgiving!

As long as those Eagles win, it makes us ALL look good (I mean except for me and Skoal because he's laying behind a winabago with LLama)

Great win today by the Eagles.  Three more and we're tailgaiting in Salem again!!!  Too many mistakes today, but we won the game and were clearly the better team so I won't get into that.   Overall just a great effort, esp. by the maligned defense.

Hey E&H Dad, do you still think W&J is in a different class than us like you said after the BC-EHC game?  LOL, 1-9 is great.

And Grant Higgonson, great playcalling and great effort by your defense today.  But how 'bout you tone it down a little bit with the "F-Bombs" from on top of the press box.  There's little kids and the elderly right below you.  Show some class.
