Our stands didn't seem to be into the game much, which was disconcerting, to say the least.

I don't know about that. Caoch Raeford stopped by Stone Station after the game and told of his first experience "on the field" as he is usually in the press box. He said, " We have the best fans!" He also said, "I couldn't hear the play being called down to the field a couple of times, I would cover my headphones and say huh... what did you say." I must say that we were plenty loud when we needed to be! ;D

$70... trip, hotel,.. food?  Ticket?

I blame John Hopkins.
Blame BC.  1 loss by 1 point in week 1....and look what happens.....

I was just kidding about the Hopkins thing.  I know I certainly didn't expect them to beat Thiel.

That week 1 loss certainly was a shame.  I arrived at the game at halftime, and couldn't believe that BC was cruising against McDaniel.  3 INTs and 3 missed FGs later, and I was just scratching my head.  There's a good chance Thiel would have been seeded higher than BC even if BC was undefeated, but you never know.

So this time, I think I'll blame this week's travel costs on 4-6 Waynesburg and 5-5 Carnegie Mellon for not beating Thiel in 2OT and 3OT, respectively.   Dern .500ish teams not pulling through... ;)

Bmore BC

Just got finished reading the dnr article about BC players being all ODAC. Congrats to all thoseplayers who made it. Two surprises in my eyes. Winston being 2nd team and Mays being 2nd team. I guess BC can't have all 1st teamers.

Also dominating performance by the BC defense. Though I was not at the game, it sounded as if our team speed was the big difference. That is one thing offenses can not prepare for is the speed of our team. As good as the Thiel defense is supposed to be, I know they aren't as taleneted as the BC defense.

The weather forecast I saw said Snow Showers with a High of 25 and a low of 20 for Greenville, PA Saturday.
You can say the Western PA guys are more used to the snow and cold or that the snow favors the bigger BC O Line versus the smaller but quick Thiel D Line. Significant snow would help neutralize Chambers to a small extent.
The Field Turf at Thiel will help with footing somewhat.

To sum up what Jeremy said and add my own thoughts, the weather will not favor one team or the other.  Both must play in the same conditions.

Am I correct that this will be the last game in driving distance for BC, other than SALEM?  So hopefully our fans will hit the road and provide that 12th man for our guys to make it to the next round.

We don't talk about playing in the rain.

If Wesley beats UMHB that game would be in Delewere.  If UW-W comes out of the West that is Wisconson which is the most doable of any of the west region teams.  Of course for any of this to matter BC must win this week... :)

You bet we will be there Eaglemom! Wouldn't miss it for the world. You and all the family are more than welcome to stop by Stone Station and say hey before the game. And tell, you know who, we love that playstation offense so keep that playbook wideopen.  ;D
Safe travels and Happy Thanksgiving. We will see you in Greenville! ;)

I don't think so.  If BC is unbeaten, Thiel never gets the chance to be ahead of them in the rankings. (you know, that historical advantage stuff that, whether it's in the criteria or not, plays a part).
Been wrong before.  Will be wrong again.

Nick Bublavi gets selected to represent DIII in the Aztec Bowl in December. Any other ODAC players make the squad?

Matt Barnhart (kid)

After reading the article in today's Daily News-Record, no mention of Washington (POTY) or Clark (COY) for ODAC honors makes me believe that either (or both) J.D. Ricca and Bublavi won Off. POTY and Kiesel won COY.

Still going to be interesting to see who earns Def. POTY.  That'll be the only surprise.

Little disappointed Young didn't make 1st team (I'm assuming Simpson from H-SC was the other 1st team back, or only Washington made 1st team along with three WRs).  I mean, every ODAC coach saw Young this year put up 108.5 yards a game at 9.7 yards per carry.  How does that not earn you 1st team honors?

Deon Mays not making it is understandable ... he didn't have his best game until W&J last week (thank goodness) and there are were a lot of great DB performances this year (stats-wise).

I'm also eager to see how Bublavi, Martin, Smith, Barnette, Rushing, and Rolander land on the all-ODAC teams ... I still say Martin, Smith, and Bublavi (in that order) impressed me the most.  But you can't ignore Barnette's stats.  Tough decision!

I know BC isn't "about" individual awards but Winston Young on 2nd team is a crock.  Name me three better backs in the country, never mind the ODAC.  The kid is an absolute stud.  Mays came up huge in two big games (W&L and W&J).  Probably tough to give us 3 db's on first team though since we struggled against the pass in several games.  I'm still glad we have him now.

Kid-

I saw you posted the picture of Herndon hog-tossing #9.  That was a great tackle, but do you have a pic of the hit #33 put on W&J #24 in the 4th quarter?  That was one of the most violent hits I've ever seen in person.

He got..........................JACKED UP!!!

Hey Miz...we agree on something...Highfill presents additional problems and if the weather is bad he should be the guy.

On a couple of the bad turnovers that Highfill made deep in our own territory, he looked like a young QB still learning to make the right decisions.  But on a bunch of plays he looked like Jason Lutz vintage 2001 (evading the rush & making plays when receivers were covered, punishing LBs that tried to tackle him, and hitting receivers on the numbers on deep passes).  I like our chances with either QB.  But in the cold (and snow?) that we'll be seeing this weekend, Highfill might give us the best shot.

Hey, you're right.  We do agree.  Everyone in D-3 will know who Highfill is by next year, if not sooner.....
Agree.  Lewis is a very good qb but Highfill is a difference-maker.

miz,
In my understanding Deon's stats in the W&J game shouldn't matter for all-ODAC consideration.  I was under the impression that those awards are based on regular season performance.
