Pios,Sorry I did not check my facts, your right about drawing from regional talent,i.e. western PA. I'll go out on a limb and say that the best high school football is played in Ohio, PA.,Texas,Calif.,Fla.,and south Ga. Just look at the colleges in these states and see what a success their college programs have year after year. This even filters down to the D3 level. I don't know much about Va. high school football, and not to knock them, but it seems they have to start improving their progams a great deal to catch up with the states I've mentioned. I don't know were Bridewater and HSC recruit the majority of their talent , be it from Va.,regional, or nationally, their doing a heck of a job. The other schools in the ODAC need to take  a lesson, so that the ODAC can be as competitive and sucessful as other conferences. The only thing is not lower their already high academic standards that  the ODAC is known for ---- can this be done I don't know. PEACE I'm the E&H Dad

A little bit of Catholic media coverage to share with the board. The Times has a good interview with Clark talking about where the program is right now. The Post's coverage is awful, but I threw it in there anyway.

e h dad,

Actually the tidwater area of Virginia is a major hotbed of football talent. It has been considered in the top three areas for recruiting over the last five years. (California and Florida being the other two) Western PA and Ohio have the tradition. But as of late, well I don't know. See Penn St.

Great article muchacho...thanks for linking it.   There's been so much BC & HSC title talk already, with some E&H hopefuls adding in, that it was refreshing to hear a CUA player say this:

"This team can win the [Old Dominion Athletic Conference]. Hands down,"

waspergate

E&H dad I hate to agree with Eagle fans but there is no one single area with as much skill talent as the hapton, tidewater, norfolk region is eastern Virginia. Hey does E&H have any new kids that are gonna come in and have an impact?Montgomery needs to get some kids from Richmond to the coast,or we will stay a step or three to slow, I know Bridgewater and HSC are.

Rugby Guy

SKOAL!!!   Departure from Richmond tomorrow as close to 5:30 PM as possible.   Arrival at Stone Station near 7:30 or 8:00, depending on traffic.  Save a spot for my tent and a place at the table!

GO BC!!!

Hey, why did he stop there.  I think Catholic is a serious national title contender.   ;)  Oh yeah, I meant to say, "A serious national title contender.  Hands down."

Yeah.  "Best of the best of the best.....with honors SIR."

Good stuff, good stuff.

Nick Rogers needs a reality check. Catholic is not going to win the conference unless it keeps its hands up:)

LOL.  That's good stuff.

I also liked this quote:

"we will be another undefeated team," said Keith Ricca (CUA's highly heralded freshman QB)

I should probably include his full quote "Eventually, we will be another undefeated team"

Will be, heck they're undefeated right now!!!  Go Cardinals beat the Quackers!!

Waspergate,The Tidewater section of Va. has great high school talent, but it can't supply all of Va. with quality football talent. Case in point, look at the number of colleges in Fla. that draw from the high schools there i.e. UF,FSU, and Miami to name a few and then there are enough players left who go out of state to play at other colleges. There are a number of Fla. players at E&H. The ODAC schools need to start going out  state more  to improve their programs. It's basic supply and demand . E&H has a couple of freshman that can have an impact this year, but for right now it's going to be up to the upperclassmen to get the job done this season. E&H can go at least 7-3 and may be 8-2 if they stay motivated.Coach Monty is doing a great job. He can't do it for the Wasp's-----its a case of want to and how bad they want to win------ Monty and his staff can't do it for them----they have to do it themselves. PEACE, I am the E&H Dad

cue player- first of all if u graduated in '01, you didnt play against any of these guys.  second of all, Ricca doesnt have "legs" and that point has already been made.  catch up before you make your first post

I was just commenting on what I saw. I saw Ricca make some plays running. I saw Washington make great plays as an athlete. Bublavi is the only kid I saw with no physical equal. Why the harsh words?

Rugbyguy:  We'll be there!!!  Have a safe drive and at $3.29/gallon you could probably use a drink when you arrive.

Man, I feel like I got a "steal" at $2.79 a gallon here in Harrisonburg, Va. ... that was yesterday morning ... it's now $2.99 or more  :o

Even more  :o is a gas station in Atlanta, Ga., with regular unleaded selling for more than $6.00 a gallon!

Thank goodness I drive a SUV that gets 13 miles/gallon  >:(
