The receivers make great adjustments to the throws and Warwick has a strong arm!  Tight throws and kicks cut the wind a bit but if a punter misses it can get ugly

With the wind always blowing at Wolverines Stadium how is Wesley doing so awesome at passing? Are the QB's just used to it from practice and they know how to adjust their throws?

A couple of last comments/additional ruminations on the Thiel/BC game from the perspective of a Thiel fan:

BC's halfback pass - wasn't a good idea & didn't need it.  I think Thiel has snuffed them out most times that it has been tried this year.  Much more effective was the judicious use of the QB draw.  Good play calling. Even when the Thiel d-line has been beaten in the run early in the game they have usually been able to adjust and shut down the run in the late going.  Not on Saturday.  I think the QB draws helped keep Thiel's d a bit off-balance.

Again - good game and best of luck throughout the rest of the playoffs.

Hmm ... prior to that interception on the halfback pass (which btw, was all Darius Thompson - he is All-American material) Marcus Washington was 4-for-6 on that play, three of which went for touchdowns.

My take on Wesley...

Marcus Lee and Larry Beavers are fast and young...they are as dangerous going long as they are on a crossing pattern.  Kevin Nelson is the RB and just 5'3" - he can get the ground game rolling but is most effective exploding after a screen pass.

The defense is base - Cipot and Robinson bring pressure from the right side of the line and should keep Highfill on the move.  If Highfill is as mobile as I've heard - he'll need to be mobile to his left.

I saw everyone on their D make plays - they held Ferrum to 14 points and still would have crushed them despite some mistakes.

The BC D is playing well. Be honest fans. After 5 games how many of you thought BC would have more defenders on the ODAC 1st team than offensive players? (4 on D,3 on O.)
At the time I could have never predicted that as the offense was on fire and the secondary was not.

religion_major

I will honestly say that it was not until the W&L game that I thought the defense could hold its own.  It wasn't until W&J that I started to believe the BC defense could change a game like it has the last two weeks.

Bmore BC

I think that the Hampden sydney game showed how well the BC defense could be. At that time HSC's offense was on a roll and the BC D stepped up to the plate. Something else to remember is that Bc has played some of the best offenses in the nation in conference play. That has helped them build confidence going into the playoffs.

Jeremybozz

Especially against the pass. The ODAC is pass heavy and our secondary is playing up to its potential.
Adrian Herndon was a preseason 1st team All American for a reason and McQueen and Mays, among others, have stepped it up.

Last week it was scant mention of the BC All ODAC choices...and the beat continues today.

In todays online version, the Bridgewater win over Thiel is listed as a "PREP" victory, a term it normally reserves for high school teams...

We're still holding out hope that the ODAC will bring two teams to the dance in 2006 (with BC as the champ in the dreams of a BC fan), but understand that that is still to be determained.

Hat's off to the Eagle D, Both Lines, the O, and game ball to the SPECIAL teams. The maturing of the D gives me more encouragement than anything for continued success in the playoffs. The BC playoff games have looked totally different in terms of the ability of the D to shut down some pretty potent offenses.

I am really curious how our stats (since the playoffs) would compare with the playoff teams that are still alive.  I bet the Kid is already all over that . Or maybe there is a better way to get a more accurate assessment of production in games that had playoff implications.

Of course, you can!!  :) I shall make both kinds!! ;D  ;D  I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to talk to you after the game!  When our bus (actually as you know, it was the second team bus) got back to B H20 it was around midnight and too late to call.  I enjoyed the game, except for a nervous stomach that did not allow for any eating until well after the game.  One question though,  when we are running so well, why jeopardize this with a pass play when so many bad things can happen and, in fact, did happen?  Just a hypothetical question, but I'd be curious to hear an answer.  You can send me a private message if you want.  Hope practice goes well.  You can come over to pick up your stash of PB brownies around 2  tomorrow afternoon.  I will come get them during my noon free time period.  Then I have class at 1:00.  We need to have some good practices.  It sounds like they have got some really good offensive weapons in their WR!  lol

R-M, I understand completely and I appreciate your unabashed support for BC.  I was only teasing.  I'd feel exactly the same way if I was a BC supporter!  Maybe the ODAC will get two teams in 2006 - that's a great thought - and BC will be lucky enough to get the extra Pool C bid.  :)
