Cummster,

Dang....great nickname Kid.   I'll be there, father in tow, sometime pre-game Saturday.  Since it's only 200 miles, we're not going to worry about getting there on Friday, but will try to be there in time to tailgate in whoever's front yard we have to park next to. Great planning on that field.

Wesley's top running back is listed at 5'3 170 pounds.   About the size of the little guy Theil had in the backfield.  And their top two recievers are a freshman and sophomore with their QB only a junior.  Looks like this Wesley team will be good for a few years.  This is BC's year though.  The defense is playing with just as much swagger and confidence as it did when it had big ol' 99 in the middle.  Not saying it is quite as good, but definitely just as confident right now.

Wesley's stat page also says they have 11 blocked kicks on the year to BC's 8.  WOW!!  i thought we blocked alot of kicks.  we better protect the punter and kicker this week.

Beavers and Lee might be great and all, but Bridgewater has faced plenty of teams with more than one main receiver...

problem is, kid, bc didn't seem to fare very well defensively against any of those teams and none of those teams are as balanced as wesley from a run/pass standpoint - in the games against gcq, hsc and w&j, bc gave up an average of 327 passing yards per game, and if you throw the cua and hanover games into the mix (2 other pass-heavy offenses that kid cited in some earlier research on the acfc board), the average against the 5 pass heavy teams that bc faced this year goes up to 369 per game...of course, bc won those games, but i don't think any of them have the defense that wesley does

that being said, i've predicted that bc will win on the south region playoff board, mostly because i think the experience factor will be key and the match-up is close

Hey Pat, those of us locals up here in New Castle County will be rolling in around 10 am to set up shop to see a BC victory!!!

You could look like a real Swami if BC wins the region...

All hail, our Around the Mid Atlantic Swami!!!

narch, those teams put up big passing numbers against us because they had to; we got up on them and they had to catch up (except hsc). and no, those teams did not have a defense to counter our offense like wesley does. that's why wesley's still playing (us too) and those guys aren't. but, this is a different defense on the field now than earlier in the year. playing harder, smarter, and more confident. that's easy to see. i'm lookin forward to seeing (hearing on the internet more like) a dogfight out there saturday. i'm pumped. it should be fun.

Alright people - sound off like you got a ....

Who's going and when will you get there.  I'll be rolling in around 5-6pm Friday night.  I'm staying at the Fairfield Inn

The Pak family will be in Dover Friday night, barring complications from dental surgery.

Here's to Wesley's overconfidence.  After knocking out the Big Tex, they won't be worried about lil ole BC.

;D

How many times have BC and Wesley played each other and what's the series record?  I realize it's somewhat meaningless if it's been more than a few years since they've played, but I'm just curious about scores in head-to-head meetings.

The better two teams that were pass happy W&J and HSC were both held to under 25 points. The game is won by the most points not most yards.

I don't recall that these two teams have ever met.  Kid?  Llama?

Stopping both Lee and Beavers will be a key for BC on Saturday.  Ignore either to your peril.   ;)

Just a hunch but I believe a 20mph headwind forecast for Saturday will shutdown the deep threat for 2 quarters. The BC defense will have to step up in the other two. ;)

I don't know how many times they've met, but I know Wesley kicked the crap out of us my freshman year at BC.   That freaking walk from the locker room to the field sucks.  I mean, come on!  Build the stadium ON campus!!!!

The locker rooms are at the field.  What year did you last come here?  Besides, Wolverine Stadium is technically on Wesley's campus, just not the main campus.  When you were here did you notice all the houses around Wesley College or were you too busy brooding over your walk?

Rugby Guy

It was '93.  Truth be told, I don't remember if it was the walk FROM the locker room to the field or the walk from where we had to park to the field, or what, but it was a hike.

And I didn't notice was probably hung over...sort of knew I wasn't going to play so I did the college thing the night before.

dedragon

'93???!!! I bet you did have to walk back then...  The college has changed a bit from then.  The field is now a place of pride and they are currently undertaking a fundraising effort for new locker rooms.  I hope it passes inspection this time around.
