bOTTOM LINE UP FRONT. ODAC (BC) WAS IN THE SHOW. Over a 100 TEAMS (?) were in and 100 out. Getting planked in the 4 rd round is better than turning in equipment in early NOV. But that's just me. I guess I got pull for those small brutish snarling, flesh eating beasts ;)

Does anyone want to translate that into English for the rest of the board?  :)

This is what Altavista's Babel Fish Translate came up with:

English: "Let's not forget that Bridgewater represented the ODAC in the NCAA playoffs.  Only 32 teams made the championship tournament with the other 199 sitting at home.  Making it to the quarterfinals is certainly better than playing your last game on November 12.  But that's just my opinion.  I suppose *no translation available for: "I got pull for those small brutish snarling, flesh eating beasts"*

Even though he'd much rather be playing on Dec. 10 and Dec. 17 in the NCAA playoffs, congrats to Marcus Washington for being named to the United States team playing in the Aztec Bowl.

Release:

Bridgewaters Marcus Washington Named to the AFCAs 2005 Aztec Bowl Squad

WACO, TEX. Bridgewater College (Va.) runningback Marcus Washington has been selected to play for the American Football Coaches Associations Division III all-star team that will represent the United States against the Mexican National Team in the 2005 Aztec Bowl on December 17 in Toluca, Mexico.

Washington, a senior from Crozet, Va., was an All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference selection for the Eagles in 2005. He rushed for 945 yards and 17 touchdowns this season. He is ranked among the national leaders in scoring with 20 total touchdowns and one two-point conversion.

Washington is one of 46 NCAA Division III seniors from around the country who will make up this years team. Former Central (Iowa) College Head Coach Ron Schipper will coach the team for the ninth consecutive year.

Event Information: This years game is scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. CST on December 17 at Estadio Chivo Cordova in Toluca.

The Aztec Bowl is the traditional season-ending game for Mexicos college football season. The game has been played 34 times since 1947 with the last eight contests featuring the United States-Mexico match-up. The United States is 7-1 in the series and defeated Mexico, 23-3, in the 2004 game in Cancun.

Chitwood Sports Media of Jefferson, Texas will again provide a live webcast of the Aztec Bowl in 2005. Along with the game webcast on December 17, announcers Charlie Chitwood and Ned Fratangelo will provide 90-minute preview shows on December 14, 15 and 16. The preview shows will originate from the Team USA hotel and will begin each night at 6:30 p.m. CST.

The preview shows and game webcast can all be accessed via the AFCAs website at www.afca.com and via the Aztec Bowl website at www.aztecbowl.com. Postgame results will also be available at www.afca.com.

Just a little anecdote you may enjoy. That group of young men that I had the enjoyment of sitting next to at the game Saturday were not only a little drunk... But when one of your fans walked by they all in unison yelled got back to New England , Go back to Conn. I guess we should be happy theu learned that there is actualy a Bridgewater team in Conn.

Once again it has been fun.

If you had told me after the McDaniel game we would go as far as Linfield in the playoffs I would have been elated.
We won 2 playoff games and even though the ODAC is much improved we should be very good in 2006 if healthy.

Actually, it is better than you realize...while there is a Bridgewater in Connecticut, there is no college in that town.  Bridgewater State is in Massachusetts...

Still, I can understand.  They likely skipped their geography class so they could get saturated in "anti-freeze" to prepare for the cold last saturday!

Of course, it sounds like they took enough to get ready for Dover on 12.3 and wisconsin on 12.10!
NO, Tusky, You cannot MOON Dr. Geisert!

Amen...especially when you add in the fact that the #1 QB who led them all year was not going to start due to injury.

I mean...the team has played for what is effectively the South Region championship four times in the last five years, with two wins.  No other team has more than two appearances, or one win.  This is consistency and success of a type that we folks who graduated in the 20+ years ago find mind boggling.

If we can assume that "small brutish, flesh eating beasts" are wolverines, then I suppose the last sentence can be translated as "I must now cheer for Wesley College!"  lol

Ummm.....ok.

Haha  :D ... well, at least now we know it isn't an anti-Bridgewater thing ... they also said:

"Hampden-Sydney quarterback J.D. Ricca was named offensive back of the year."

Maybe they think 17 rushing yards on 70 attempts is worthy?
