And I know I'm just setting myself up for more "haha, you're so stupid Matt," but until now, I never picked up on the whole "full, half, quarter" thing as far as their positioning on the field from the center to the fullback.

Soooooooo.... If a team is in the I-formation and the Halfback is behind the Fullback, why don't they call a pass from the backfield a Fullback pass since he is lined up in the Fullback position? Things that make you go hummmm...?

And Kid, atleast you knew why they called the guy in the middle of the offensive line: Center! :D
Speaking of baseball - we were weren't we? - if Randy Johnson plays shortstop, is he now a longstop or a tallstop?  Of course, Michael Irvin would be a "snortstop," but I digress .... :)

Rugby Guy

Hasanova's speaking for himself, Kid.  I'm laughing AT you.  Just don't climb the bell tower with a high-powered sniper rifle.

Llama...if a fullback throws a pass, it's called an interception.

Oh my bad, I thought that was what it was called if the backup QB who happened to be the fastest guy on the team threw the pass. :o

Hey, I was only the back up for the first week of practice.  Then I became a first string bench warmer.

Thats cool! Remember I was just the 8th man on the BC Golf team my senior year. Translated that means I got free greens fees at Ingleside the spring of my senior year or first string practice player! Played in 1 ODAC tourney for the legendary LB Neal, LOL. :o

Llama,
I might have to recruit you for the alumni golf tourney next year so I have a shot at winning something other than door prizes.

Just a little anecdote you may enjoy. That group of young men that I had the enjoyment of sitting next to at the game Saturday were not only a little drunk... But when one of your fans walked by they all in unison yelled got back to New England , Go back to Conn. I guess we should be happy theu learned that there is actualy a Bridgewater team in Conn.

Once again it has been fun.

Safe trip to the really frozen North!  It looks like WW is looking past the game on Saturday towards a possible match-up with MUC.  That could certainly work to your advantage!!    I wouldn't think anybody could be that idiotic in the semi-finals as there are no slacker teams in the playoffs, but hey, when you can catch someone with their attention elsewhere, I say go for it!!   All the best.  Represent us well.  Like I said before.  I am making brownies for the team who comes to meet the MUC/Rowan winner at the Stagg Bowl and will cheer for that team.  It would be nice if it were a team from the South region.  Go get'em!
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

Anyone see the Richmond Times-Dispatch today?  In this years' awards handed out by the Touchdown Club of Richmond "...Bridgewater's Paul Getty and Virginia State's P.J. Berry tied for offensive lineman honors..."

Ummm.....ok.
But PJ is not an offensive lineman, he's a receiver so how does that work?  He's absolutely wonderful.  I remember when he ran for us, sigh!!

Ummm.....ok.

Posted on Bridgewater.edu today:

Richmond TD Club honors Getty

Bridgewater College senior offensive lineman has been selected as the recipient of the Division II/III Offensive Lineman of the Year Award by the Touchdown Club of Richmond.

The offensive lineman award also includes tight ends and wide receivers. Getty will share the award with Virginia State wide receiver P.J. Berry. Berry played his freshman season at Bridgewater College.

Getty anchored the Eagles' offensive line that helped the Eagles rank as one of the top offenses in the nation. The Eagles ranked among the national leaders in rushing offense, total offense and scoring offense.

I was also on Thiel's golf team for my freshman year! I was decent but the walking part and not being able to drink beer plus the fact that I lifted and ran for football practice before I drove 2 plus hours in a van really screwed up my game! HAHA I was the 5th man but finished 29th or 28th out of the 30 that went to the conference championships. I can hit it long of the tee and aslong as its straight I can score but if I am spraying the ball forget about it I will be playing my approach from another zip code!

Maybe we can have a d3football.com outing some time or if we meet in an exhibition game early in the season some of us can get together for some golf by day...hold'em by night...and drink by well all day and night!
GO TOMCATS!!!
