From Pat C
"He definitely transferred...and the rest of the story seems correct based on my recollection of a conversation with Coach Kiesel.

The whole transfer situation can be summed up in the name of a horse that runs in Philly...

Sumgotitsomedontido..."

Vogelbach yea..... And let's hope he stays there. Vogelbach is one of 2 D1 guys to transfer to GC that were tops in the game. One being Mr Glidomatic....(Kinney) the best reciever "I" ever saw in the ODAC. I am sure many arguments will be made but I said I.

Skoal my man....you live.
abnrgr - How right you are!  I also saw McKinney play and he was great, as partially evidenced by his NCAA-record five punt returns for TDs in one 10-game season!  Just like Vogelbach at ECU, however, I don't believe Chris ever played a down in a game for the Wolfpack at NCSU.

You're right. McK did not play. He got caught in the middle of the release of (I feel bad forgot his name, a real nice guy) and the present coach at NCSU.

Okay the answer is Force= 5g X 187miles per second squared?. Let's see since your mass will increase as speed increases you will never reach the speed of light because your mass just keeps getting bigger. Damn you. ;) :)

Sounds good, but see Men's South Region ODAC Basketball posts 1072-1073.  Merry Xmas to you!  :)

You're right about Chris McKinney's situation at State.  I believe the NCSU Head football coach at the time was Mike O'Cain through the 1999 season and then Chuck Amato beginning in 2000.

That's his name McCain. His counterpart over at UNC (Torbush) was a great guy too. Talked to him a couple of times. That's why they got whacked. Nice guys. Tough business

There is an answer to that problem?  ;)

Yep, it is a tough business.  Torbush and O'Cain are both good guys, but you have to win and go to the postseason - especially at DI.  Which MLB Manager said "a Manager is hired to be fired!"?  He knows he will be, he just doesn't know when.  lol  I heard another former Wolfpack Coach's name during the TB/Carolina NFL game yesterday.  Remember Monte Kiffin?  He an Assistant Coach for the Bucs.

Yes, there is an answer to the Math/Physics riddle.  All posters who check the basketball posts to which I referred shall see the light.  :)

speaking of transfers,

Doesn't Clemson have a starting Tight End that transferred from HSC. I also saw a WVU game where a d3 transfer had a huge game and was hammering people. I just have a hard time thinking that there is any difference(leaving out physical freaks) between good d3 skill position players and d1 besides connections.

CUA
I agree with that. There are even a few D-Linemen that could play some ball. The NG for Wyoming is an ALL Conference player at 5'8" 267 lbs. He is I admit inhumanely powerful :) but I know I have seen at least 2 or 3 guys in the ODAC that could be starting for Wyoming or any MWC team.

CUA your point is even more relevant to skill players.

Do you mean FB Owen Schmitt who went from UW - River Falls to WVU?

What BC posters are heading to Salem this weekend?

I'll be there sporting my Eagles jersey!

Llamaguy and I will be there!  Should be fun!  Fire Pit and BBQ Chicken!!!  Rugbyguy is considering it.  He just can't decide whether it should be creamy or chunky?

I'll be there in my tradtitional BC ensemble with brownies for Stone Station and also for UW-WW as they are playing against Mount Union and I am cheering for WW with tickets on the 50 yard line. Yippee!!  Let's make sure that there is a great crowd at Stone Station.  GCOLL, you are coming, right?  How about you, Hasanova?  It's just a hop, skip and a jump from G'boro.  It'll be great fun!!!  We all had a blast last year, meeting  fans from both Linfield and UMHB and they were all great.  Everybody, remember to wear your BC Santa hats!!

To the 2 Pat C.'s--just wonder if you guys have thawed out yet?  It really seemed quite chilly as I listened to the play-by-play.  Thanks a lot by the way.  I couldn't listen to the whole thing because I had to go to Waynesboro and my car radio could only get the TA game!!  I have brownies reserved for you as well.  You have certainly earned them.  I  have enjoyed my football a lot this season.  And a hardy thank you in person on Saturday!!  I don't know about the withdrawal from postpatterns, though.  That's going to be hard.

            Way to go Knights!!! [/i]
Way to go #9 Cody Ochoa!!
Cody, Told you the good luck charms I made would work!  And they did!! So proud of you!!
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

On a different subject,  it seems that Catholic University is leaving the ODAC in all sports except football:
****************************
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/12/12/AR2005121201287.html

Catholic University will join seven colleges in a new Division III conference. The conference, temporarily called "the group of eight," is not expected to be named for some time.

Catholic will be joined by Goucher College in Baltimore, Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, N.J., Drew University in Madison, N.J., the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y., Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pa., Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pa., and Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pa.

Play will begin in fall 2007 in all sports except football.
*****************

Of these schools, Moravian, Juniata, and Susquehanna play football in the MAC, the other schools listed do not seem to have football programs.

Pat C., knower of all things CUA, what is the story?

Well, among others, it was said by Yogi Berra about being fired by the Yankees:

This specific reference was about the way he was terminated...

I think football was the only sport Catholic was playing in the ODAC.

I would love to be in Virginia for the National Championship, but it is my parent's bar Christmas party starting at 3 o'clock and is my last day student teaching (however I may go for 3 days the following week but that is another story) so I will not be able to make the trip to Salem this year. However, I do look forward to making a trip to Virginia to see a DIII National Championship game! When that happens I hope to enjoy the company of all the BC people who will be there and especially olinemom's brownies they were awesome!
GO TOMCATS!!!
