So is VHS or DVD better? Is there a choice for both games? Thanks.

Jeremy, if you have a choice and a DVD player, DVD is the much better pick.

Well the DVD was just luck. Dave doesn't have that one in Roanoke and had his buddy copy it and he just happened to put it on DVD.  I agree that DVD will last longer and has less storage space.

I too have copies coming.  I got them for Rowdy and his family.  I'm sure they will get a kick out of them.

I I also think there is not much difference (if any) between D1-AA football players and D3 Football Players except that D1-AA is getting Athletic Scholarships.  I would also bet that if you took the top 10 teams in D3 tooball's final poll and let them play a Liberty or VMI, I'd bet D3 would win over half of them easily.

Where was I?  Anyway, it will be interesting how it all plays out.

Skoal...where was you? I'll tell you where you was....you was smoking whacky weed with the last post......You're taking the top 10 d3 teams and comparing them to the likes of VMI and LU and using that to say there is not much difference between d3 and d1aa...whacky weed!!!!!!!

How about comparing the top 10 d3 teams to the A-10????? How about Bridgeatwer vs Maine? CNU vs W&M....blowouts as in the Ravens Pakers game last night!!

Puff The Magic Dragon, lived by the sea..............

CNUWho; You live by the sea, not me.  I didn't mention anything about W&M, Maine, or even JMU.  I mentioned two very low-on-the-totem pole DI-AA teams.  Don't put words in my mouth or I'll put my fist in yours.  I got your Whacky Weed right here!

All I said was I'll take the top 10 D3 Football teams and play Liberty or VMI and I'm sure there are others out there and I'm telling you as I type this they would win more than 50% of the games.  How far out of wack is that?  I've seen both play and I'll tell you what, it's not far at all.

Really no need to argue the point.  It will never happen but it was fun to compare.....

Stay Gay CNU85!!!!!!!

Well, sure, but the A-10 is the elite of I-AA scholarship football too.

Pat, thanks for helping me clarify my thoughts.  I might have jumped the gun on CNU but I think you mostly understood where I was coming from.

And I'll stick with my original statement though.  I don't think there is much difference between D3 Football Players than D1-AA.  Speed, Strength, Vertical Leap, Etc.  My point to CNUBooWhoo is that let's take the top 10 D3 Football teams and field say 2 or 3 so called All-Star Teams and I'm telling you they will be within the mix come playoff time for D1-AA.

Sorry CNU, I'm lost without any more D3 Football to look forward to.

Sorry I didn't respond earlier, but I've actually gone 2 days without reading the ODAC posts...Kid got some bad info this time...Keith has never considered leaving Catholic (for HSC or anywhere else)...he loves Catholic and even though he will miss Coach Clark tremendously he has no desire to go anywhere else...Muchacho is right about Tom Clark...he is leaving for family reasons and will be greatly missed at Cathlic, but the foundation is in place for CU to compete for the ODAC championship in the near future.

QuoteIf Ricca moves to HSC, it will be interesting to see how Marty molds or changes the system to fit a much larger QB.  Maybe they'll let this Ricca run a bit? Thoughts?

This Ricca won't be running much...J.D. was definitely the more athletic of the two, but Keith probably has a better arm.

Kid...This talk about Keith Ricca moving to HSC next year...I'm sure you got that information before any rumblings about Tom Clark leaving?
Anybody remember that Marty Favret is a Catholic alumnus, and that he could continue coaching a Ricca if he moved back home to DC to coach Catholic? With J.D., Clemmons, Singh, Junes, Dull, Rolander, etc. gone from HSC over the last few years, now might be a more opportunistic time for Marty to make a move back to Catholic than it would have during the other coaching vavancies at Catholic.

But Favret is going to be hired as the next VMI coach, right?  :o ;D

What is the deal with Favret?  The Daily News Record today that "Favret said he has applied for the position but has not yet formally interviewed."  Sounds to me like he wants out of Farmville.  I would think that could make recruiting difficult.

HEARDENOUGH,
The fact that Kid posted what he may or may not have heard should be good enough.  Kid has a great rep on this site and in my opinion has worked his way up to be one of the more knowledgable D3 Football fans in the country.  Let it rest on where he may or may not have heard rumors about Ricca. (it's weird there is only 1 left playing right now!  :-\)    I'm sure in a few days or weeks everything will work its way to the media or at least to this site.    Also, not to knock you for being a new poster (welcome, please stay)  but Kid owes nothing to a "new guy" with only 7 posts!  ;)

I guess kid isn't always right!    :P

To his credit he said it was hearsay from the start.

Llama Guy:

So I was driving home from Salem on I-81 north and passed a llama farm near, maybe Route 798 in Virginia.  I immediately thought of you...then of tasty chicken.  But, setting the chicken aside, was that your farm? :)

He may want out, but it doesn't seem like he is their first choice.  The Roanoke paper says on 12.15.05 that Favret had applied and had spoken with the VMI AD, but the Roanoke paper says in a different article that Coach Clark had an informal interview on 12.11.05 and w/d on 12.18.05.

Whatever, I guess...I am glad that Clark is staying at BC, and I hope that Favret gets the job and that it is all he hopes it will be.   He may well think it will be easier to recruit to a D1AA than to a D3, but a VMI Keydet does not live an easy life.  While I have never heard a VMI alum express regrets about attending the Institute...I doubt it is an easy place to recruit to.

May have been. I am the only farm visable from I81 near MM 259. It would have been on your right headed north just past a new Liberty gas station. Glad you enjoyed the chicken. Now I have a ploy to  get Pat Coleman to send you guys down to BC to do a game in 2006. I'll supply the grub. ;D

My older brother went there and played football during his "Rat Year" and had a good time playing.  However, he used to give me and my 2 other Brothers crap because he said he never got to go to a "real college" without Military influence.  VMI is the kind of Institute that you hate while you're there but love once you are out.

While I was at Bridgewater running Track, we had numerous meets at VMI and used to ream those guys in most of the events.  Even though they were getting scholarships for Track & Field, they used to get schooled by D3 Athletes so, yes, it's a tough place to recruit.  In all Sports....just look at their records in all Sporting events.  LaCrosse might be a different story though.....

My 2 cents.....
