Students aren't affected by the Beltway. I wasn't on the Beltway at all as a student except when arriving at school and leaving school for the semester. The Metro took us everywhere we needed to go.

I know in d3 that you have eligibilty up to 10 semesters of full course work.... Does it count toward eligiblility if a player takes a full load of classes during the Summer?

muchacho

sharp eye...I'm fairly sure that an athelete won't get punished for taking a full course load during the summer. I know a lot of people will use summer courses to get their grades up if they may have been close to ineligibility during their last semester.
However...if you wanted to take a full course load during the summer, instead of just one or two courses, why would you be worrying about the 10 semester rule. You would already have graduated and started on some grad work by your fourth season even if the summer semesters did count.

Thanks for the response muchacho... my case is a little different than most because i attended a junior college for one year and a half years(which I didnt play) and lost 3 semesters... so im trying to make sure i dont lose anymore eligibility...

coming from florida traffic is no issue, plus will take the car away walking should be great for his quads.

Are you coming into d3 with an associates degree, or are you transferring before that? I believe a juco player would get just 2 years of eligibility, but im not sure what happens if you weren't playing on that level.

Regardless of the ability for underclassmen to have cars at Catholic, i think you get much more out of the experience by having to use the metro instead of driving around...you get to know the city better that way. Driving in DC though is a skill, and having a car a few years down the road might not hurt.

You have given and excellent an almost sentimental outlook for next year . Kinda like a Frank Capra movie. Damn English Porfessors. ;)

I have to agree with your didatic soliloquy on the order of Pericles during the 429 post Atheian sub victory near Attica because I got excited; however, it is said almost every year, they need they need.

With one exception. Vogelbach is not just a real college quarterback but a probable great one. 1st Priority: They got to get some hogs from SC to shore him up. 2nd Priority: They got to get the DBs from Brandan FLA. 3rd Priority They need 6'1 200lb runners as LB's. Those can be found on the East Coast of NC. New Bern High, Havelock, Greenville Rose.  And one bad boy to run the ball into the middle so he use more play action.

So they got some holes. Barnett's big ass stays healthy and he can just throw it up.

2-8 would be alright with me as long as BC and HSC goes down...right Llama? :D

sharp eye, not to knock the posters of d3football.com, but if you want clear answers regarding your eligibility, you'll have to consult a 'more official' source. my advice would be to contact an ncaa compliance official at any of the schools you're looking at, or even your own school and make sure they follow through w/ a researched answer

Wow, did I say all that?  Didactic?  Well, there is a moral lesson in there somewhere.  lol  Pericles passionately wanted Athens to defeat Sparta, so it's fair to say I want the Quakers to beat the Tigers and the Eagles.  :)  I agree, Vogelbach probably is a GREAT college QB, so, with apologies to Frank Capra, "It's a Wonderful Life" for the offense at GC for the foreseeable future.  Throw it up, boys, and see what Barnette, Rushing, Joyner and Vaughn can do with it!  Ring the bell, these four guys are angels with wings!  :)

I said the OL lost some guys to graduation and Vogelbach needed more protection.  You said, "They got to get some hogs from SC to shore him up."  Same thing.  I said they need to recruit some fast Defensive Backs and Linebackers.  You said, "They got to get the DBs from Brandan FLA.  They need 6'1 200lb runners as LB's. Those can be found on the East Coast of NC. New Bern High, Havelock, Greenville Rose."  Same thing.  I agree with the geographic locations, too.  The Florida connection is now there with Vogelbach and I used to live in New Bern - those big eastern NC boys can play!  I said they need a better running game to take pressure off the QB and Receivers.  You said, "And one bad boy to run the ball into the middle so he use more play action."  Same thing.  A true synoptic discourse.  So, write this down - abnrgr and hasanova agree!  lol

Regarding the "Damn English Porfessors (sic)," however, I'm a double major in Math and Econ with an MBA, so you're on your own there.  :)  Frank Capra, by the way, was a Chemistry major at Cal Tech and entered the US Army in 1918 as a Private and left a First Lieutenant.  Go figure.  English professors, are you going to take this without a (verbal) fight?   Load your blunderbuss with a dictionary, a thesausus and an anthology and fire away!  lol

Is Guilford needy?  Sure.  Are there are some obvious holes in what was, in 2005, a rather one-dimensional team?  Without a doubt.  Does the future look brighter?  Yes (I wear my sunglasses at night).  Am I optimistic?  Yes, darn it, some day we will win 9 games!  Am I a realist?  Yes.  I have to be, I've followed Guilford football for 36 years!  lol   Do I want to beat BC & HSC?  Absolutely!  For the record, that was a soliloquy!

Go Quakers!  Peace.

PS  I drove through Guilford on my way home from work yesterday - the press box at Armfield Athletic Center was GONE and the perimeter wall had been razed last Sunday!   I guess we're now officially committed to the stadium renovation ... and not a touchdown too soon.  :)

to the previous comment of nc vs florida last time I look at usa today we did not look to bad, some hs here have 10 plus d-1 coming out of them, some have huge nfl presence and the schools have 3000 plus students. No offense to nc but one school I am aware of put the whole o-line d-1 including notre dame, florida and duke , the other similar schools. 300 pounders that are 6-5 plus are common I am sure they exist in nc, but we are in no way inferior to nc in florida

Hey, anyone who can use a French fencing phrase after citing Frank Capra, didactic, Pericles, soliloquy, the Peloponnesian War, 429 B.C., the city-state of ancient Athens, the Greek prefecture of Attica, Quaker football, QB ratings, play action, the prowess of eastern NC HS football players, the physical health of Barnette's "big ass" and beating Bridgewater and Hampden-Sydney all in the same paragraph ... and halfway make sense doing it, mind you ... catches my attention and has my respect.  lol  :)  Next year should be fun in Quakertown.

Trust me, no one is questioning the quantity and quality of college football talent coming out of Florida.  It's definitely a hotbed.  Just look at the NC State roster, for example.
