Well, last year my crew got there at 1:30 or 2 and played a full game of touch football on the field before anyone else showed up.  Come really early and join in on the festivities.

Might be kind of hard this year seeing that a field hockey game will be going on then :)

Kid- at Shenandoah?  no way.  that has to get changed. lol.  who plays field hockey on the same field as football anyway.  what time is that over?

Uncle Jessie

The field hockey team @SU has its own field. Not at Shentel. Only the football and lacrosse teams play on it.

What time do the gates open?

bcsportswriter

last year there were no gates keeping us out of the grass parking lot as early as 2 in the afternoon. the gates to the game probably open at like 6

xbcdad

speaking of grass parking lots ...hope the facilities folks get a chance to mow it this year. The tall grass was a detractor from an otherwise top notch facility.

Skoal, I hear you about getting the "pass" from the wife. I have a long list of Saturday projects but since it's a night game i think we might make it ...especially since I offered to take her to "Red, Hot" and Blue" for some memphis BarBQ before the game. There are no babies in our house and that makes a big difference. We are enjoying the "empty nest" but it sure is nice having adult kids come around. It's well worth the investment it takes when they are young.

I was told by a Shenandoah administrator that if you all go on the field at all, security will remove you.

Just giving you a heads up!

FYI, I didn't know field hockey had their own field  :P

Bmore BC

I know everyone is talking about the Shenandoah game comming up which should be an ok game. I want to make a comment about the McDaniel game. The defense has got to blitz a lot more to be successful. If a defense is going to be built around speed then it must use its speed. You cant sit in cover 3 all game long if you are undersized up front. When BC did blitz the QB had to throw the ball away which he did plenty of in the first half. Coach Higginson has got to stop acting scared. You have arguable the best safety in D3, how about calling some defense plays so he can make some plays. When BC made its runs 2000-2003 it was because the defense blitzed at least 50% of the time and played straight man. Not the girly cover 3 zone. The defense played the best it could considering what defense was called. In order for BC to win the ODAC and some playoff games the defense has to have more aggressive play calling.

how do you really feel bmore? gimme a holler sometime.

pat cummings: lewis transferred from william & mary (bridgewater's "prep" school), not jmu.

taking a closer look at HSC's pounding of Sewanee, anyone else notice Bobby Bowden's repeated references to opening up versus Sewanee as opposed to Miami in reference to not suspending his players that faced some trouble over the course of the summer...

in reference to that, has a Division I team in recent history played lower than a I-AA team??

I remember the article, but was not sure about the last time a DI school had played a DIII school...
