I don't know where I've been, but I didn't know JT was assigned to NFL Europe.  I heard just last night that NFL channel, DirecTV 212, will be televising ALL NFL-E games this year.

So I can get my BC football fix by watching the Berlin Thunder every game.  TiVo is great.

Now if only we could get Pat to start that D3Football network!

GO BC!

((( BC fans: I am aware BridgewaterFootball.com doesn't exist right now.  DotEasy.com made an oppsy with my renewal request.  I hope to have it back up and running by this week. )))

Luckily my blog and message board run from different servers, so those will have to suffice for now.  :-\

But Pak, I posted the first update on Jermaine back in January.  Kid, I would have posted the update on the blog first if I could have gotten to it from you site.  Oh well....

How good is Guilford? ???
Others are also welcome to chime in with an opinion, but I saw the Quakers play 7 times in 2005.  Last season, the Quakers finished 5-5, 4-2 ODAC after starting 1-5, 0-2 with a new coach and a new QB.  Expectations are high in 2006 because 1) Coach Kiesel and his staff have a year under their belts and they've been able to do their own recruiting 2) rising sophomore QB Vogelbach is the real deal 3) all the receivers who enjoyed such a successful 2005 campaign are back 4) the kicking game is solid 5) the defense is improved with more upperclassmen and 6) the school is taking steps to improve the facilities -stadium, training, etc.  Now, the drawbacks - 1) they need some semblance of a running game to mix with the potent passing attack 2) the defense, while improved, still yielded a ton of yards and points last year and 3) it's Guilford - the momentum is in place, but the winning tradition is not yet established.  This year is pivotal - I'm hoping for at least 7-3 and 4 or 5 ODAC wins.  It could go either way a game or so, but I do think they'll be above .500 this season.  Their first 2 or 3 games will be telling.

abnrgr - As my grandfather used to say, "Even a blind hog finds an acorn every once in a while!"  lol  I hope the Quakers have a good year.

Phew ... aanndd we're back. ;D
kid - as they "used" to say on ABC's MNF, "Are you ready for some football?!"  lol  Pat Cummings was right, it's a long off-season at Guilford this year - I can't wait to see what happens in 2006!

hahaha

Does this mean that they are improving?  I am thinking about transfering there next semester.

I see your email address is buffblake88@yahoo.com.  Are you Blake Warring from Bridgewater (he's number 88)?  If so, are you being serious about transferring?

I think they are improved - and improving - without question.  The Quakers appear to have an explosive offensive team for several years with Vogelbach at QB and the defense is definitely growing.  I am also very impressed with Coach Kiesel and his staff and what Guilford is committing to the program and its facilities.

Guilford is a very fine school in many ways - history, culture, academics, the arts, community, intercollegiate activities.  I enjoyed my time at Guilford and it was right for me.  Transferring is a very personal choice, however, so I can't and won't give you any advice there.  I wish you the best!
