Hahahah
You cannot around Kid. He's like an agent. He knows your shoe size. ;)
abnrgr - I was thinking the same thing.  Oops, is a certain coach reading this board?

hahaha

I played/play at a Catawba College. A D2 school.

Alma mater of Bucky Pope, the Catawba Claw.

Hahah
Yes I know they are/have been D2. No rocks being hurled at your talent.

Catawba Indians. Let's see one of my old coaches Warren Clawiter or Klawiter from Lees-McRae had the Indians in the Mid 70's. Good football team........always

Frank
The Claw........was he a coach?

Bucky Pope was a WR from Catawba who played for the Rams and Packers in 1964 and 1966-68 (10 TDs in 1964 for a 31.4 yard per catch average) - mostly with the Rams. I must be getting old; I thought that anyone, who knew Catawba, must know Bucky Pope.

Yeah, hahaha, we know the Catawba Indians in Salisbury.  My youngest son attends MHC and my nephew started at Newberry, all in the SAC.  In my college days, Guilford and Catawba were both in the old NAIA Carolinas Conference with the two schools mentioned above, so they've played each other many, many times.  The last time I remember Guilford and Catawba playing, however, was about 20 years ago in Salisbury when Guilford got a close win.  Yes, to answer your question, I think Guilford is greatly improved and, on paper, looks to be fairly successful (above .500) for the foreseeable future.  For now, I think Bridgewater is still the team to beat in the ODAC, but I think Guilford is positioning itself to be a player in the conference race this season and beyond.  Also, look at the website and check some of the changes taking place at the stadium for this fall.  There is a lot of anticipation for the next few years with all the passing success and 5 wins last season.

As it turns out, that 31.4 yardage per catch for Pope in the 1964 season is the second highest yardage per catch figure for a single season in the history of the NFL.

Just checking in to see if everyone is alive and kicking.  The offseason stinks, huh?

I agree.  Why don't we all meet at Stone Station one Saturday when the weather breaks and have an all day tailgate just for the heck of it.  Llamaguy and I will do some Chicken/Pork BBQ.  We could also have Texas Holdem' Tourament.  I'd be down for that....Who's with me?

I know, a bit too excited.  Oh well,  I tried.

Why, I think it's a great idea.

Jermaine Taylor Update...
He finished a two week minicamp with the Buccaneers in Tampa and said all went well.  He came out healthy and felt good about it.  He left today for Berlin for the Thunder's season.  The first game is the 18th.  I think they play a 10 game season, then he'll be back in Tampa in time for their regular summer camp.  I'll update everyone as I hear from him during the season.
A karma point just for letting us know about Jermaine!!

Does this mean that they are improving?  I am thinking about transfering there next semester.

I see your email address is buffblake88@yahoo.com.  Are you Blake Warring from Bridgewater (he's number 88)?  If so, are you being serious about transferring?
If Blake even thinks about it, I'm changing his grade from last year and . . .whatever else I can think of.  But I don<t think they are allowed to post here, are they?

You should come down to Salem for the Final Four. Different end of the same parking lot. Actual ODAC team in the event. Etc.
