kid and others - what are the best sources to check football signees for ODAC schools?  I'm curious to see which newcomers Guilford - and others - may have for the fall 2006 season.  Thanks.

hasanova...the best way to check new D3 signees is to look at the program when they play their first game in September...seems a lot of last minute movement in August as talent searches for scholarships before taking the D3 deal.

First couple weeks of June are usually when schools (H-SC and Bridgewater did last year) start releasing incoming freshmen and transfers.  Until then, there's pretty much no way to know unless you talk with the coaching staff.

Thanks to both of you.  I was afraid of that.  lol   I can see how some guys will not commit to DIII until they know if they can get a better deal from NAIA or higher NCAA divisions.  I didn't know if there was a DIII newsletter or recruiting service such as Don Hansen's that might have some early information.   Thanks again.

You're a alum. Call the coach. The rest of the Alum is calling probably.  :)

Can you replace the picture of the coach on the main page with a picture of LLama or Skoal. I want to see an action shot. You know; a 12 ounce going down Skoal's neck.

Yeah, I'm an alumnus, but it's not like Coach Keisel calls me the night before a game asking for advice!  lol  Besides, if I get too close he might ask me to donate some more money to hire an extra QB or WR Coach.  :)

hasanova,

A way you can find out about the handful of transfers you'll get is to head out to spring practice.  If I remember correctly, that's in mid- to late April.  I know it's pathetic, but I'll be heading to most of Bridgewater's.

It's such a tease though ... because it gets you all pumped up, then you have to wait another four months. :-\

Speaking of spring practice, are any "Stone Station" fellas down for doing a small-scale tailgate during one of the practices?  We could do it on the North River side of the practice fields.

"pathetic"  hmmmm  I resemble that remark.  lol  I'll admit it - I am anxious to see what's going to happen this year, so I might just do that.  September 2 seems so far away!

Kid,

River Road right behind the right field fence on a Saturday morning would be an excellent place for the Stone Station Spring edition.

Jermaine's first game with the Berlin Thunder will be broadcast on the NFL Network this Saturday (3/18) at 7 pm for anyone interested.

Thanks CBE! ;)  I'll have to set the DVR up as I'll be in sunny Nags Head with the Misses'. Actually it is forcast to be 36 degrees down there on Saturday. Guess I'll have to play inside! ;D ;D ;D Yeah right, if only that dream came true. :'( :'( :'( I still ALWAYS have football and tailgating though!

RM, Wouldn't work.  Bridgewater Po-Po would bust us quickly.  I have already been locked up once by them and I don't want it to be twice....

Nags Head this month....Orlando last month.  Geez, what is this, a trip a month??  Must be sweet to be you!   :)  Are you ever home tending to the critters???  I'll excuse the upcoming trip on Sept 2nd though....

You should have me figured out by now CBE. I get all the family and wifey trips out of the way in the spring so I can spend all fall at BC with the football team and Skoal! :D

I don't miss a game or too many practices for that matter. I even saw Coach Clark at the Ferrum Baseball game today. He was working the cell phone as always. Busy man, working on the 6-peat you know. ;)

Well that makes sense...and I suppose you'll stick to that story.  Jermaine's listed as a starting OLB on the Berlin Thunder website.  Can't wait until 7 pm tomorrow night!!   Good luck JT!!!
