I heard back from JT.  He was disappointed they didn't win the game, even though he had a good game.  He said the Fire were talking alot of trash, so he would have like to beat them.  That's not his game.....just line up and play hard until the whistle.  He'll have another chance against them later this season.

Yeah maybe Rod Woodson and crew will now know his name by week 4 or 5. The camera kept zooming in on Jermaine after he would make a tackle and they would continue to talk about who had run the ball. Lay people may not have noticed but it was akward to keep showing him and never mention his name, atleast in the first half. ;)

I've also noticed that after plays, Jermaine doesn't do any of the celebratory chest-bumping.

He just gets up, helps up the opponent, goes back to the huddle.

I finally got to watch the second half this morning. Was it me or did a light switch go on when Jermaine moved to Middle Linebacker in the 4th quarter? I know he dosesn't have the supposed size to play that position in the NFL, but damn he knows the positon. He was in on every tackle once allowed to read the play and cover from side to side. That should have opened any scout's eyes. He sure would look good backing up Barrett Ruud in Tampa Bay once Derrek Brooks retires. ;)

Llamguy, how is the Miami Dolphin's MLB Zach Thomas different from Jermaine?

Zach Thomas has done it for 10 years! ;)

Good Point Ralph! I hope this is the year he makes the team. I said last year that a practice squad spot and a trip to NFL-E would be great for Jermaine. He didn't get the practice squad nod but went to work "literally" bought his time and now is in Europe. I think the key is age and experience. If he can keep his playing weight at 225lbs through training camp and the preseason I think you will find him on the TB roster. Although the draft in a few weeks will also give some incite if they go for another 1st or 2nd round LB like Ruud last year.

8 more Thunder games to watch. Yee Haa! Its helping me make it til September! ;D

If Taylor has the knack or the ability to make the play, the way that Thomas has, then he is a natural for MLB.  The other problem is the one he poses for QB's who do not see him in the middle.

Keep in mind the Jermaine was in the middle all last year, so I'm sure he's still more comfortable there.  The Bucs switched him to the outside this year, so I'm sure it'll take some time to get oriented there.  He has a little way to go to get to 225.  I'll ask him what he's at now.  He just couldn't keep the weight on last year, and his coaches had him constantly eating.

FYI....the Bucs did want to put Jermaine on the practice squad later in the season last year, but he felt he wasn't in good enough shape to go back at that time.

Good info to know Mr. J!  They have him listed at 221 lbs on Berlin's current roster but I would rather hear it from the horse's mouth. Not to mention that the chill of Europe is much more condusive to holding weight than is the 95 degree heat of camp at the Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney. Lets hope the aging process of the mid-20's helps him to keep adding weight like the mid-30's have done for me. Oh nevermind, mine is fat weight so there is no comparison! :o

Not to mention they have him listed as 6'0''.  Who knows, maybe he has grown two inches since graduating.  If not, a two-inch difference won't go unnoticed by scouts.

Then again, I told the DMV I was 6'0'' when I updated my license, when I'm really 5'10'' (and a half). :)

I got a chance to watch most of the first half last night, and had the same thoughts as you guys.  JT was in on 5 tackles that I saw, and possibly more but the camera wasn't always where I wanted it to be.

I was b+tchin about the same thing as Llama, the camera was focused on #59 at the end of the plays HE made, and the announcers said NOTHING about him.  Ticked me off.

We saw it Jermaine.  Great game.  Keep it up!!

I'm checking on the current weight.  JT said it's warming up over there and it wasn't as cold as it looked on TV the other night.  The Bucs had him listed at 6' last year too.  When I asked JT about it and if he'd grown, he laughed and said he always wanted to be 6 foot.  :)   Just wait til you get to the mid-40's Llama.  I end up adding winter weight too....but it's in the summer!  Oh well.....

Zach is listed at 5'10" and 228 lbs on the Dolphins website.  I wonder if that's accurate?  With what he does on the field, I guess it really doesn't matter...

Watch the second half Pak. Specifically the 4th quarter, he owned it. They even mentioned his name then, although it was about 3 tackles after they noted he was a Jamacian native but didn't mention his name. He keeps performing like last Saturday and they will know his name soon enough. ;)
