Looks like Bridgewater lost out on the Valley's leading rusher.  Seth Hardesty, from Broadway High School, seems to have chosen Division II Shippensburg.  Bridgewater and Hampden-Sydney were the other two schools on his short list.

I got a chance to watch most of the first half last night, and had the same thoughts as you guys.  JT was in on 5 tackles that I saw, and possibly more but the camera wasn't always where I wanted it to be.

I was b+tchin about the same thing as Llama, the camera was focused on #59 at the end of the plays HE made, and the announcers said NOTHING about him.  Ticked me off.

We saw it Jermaine.  Great game.  Keep it up!!

Watch the second half Pak. Specifically the 4th quarter, he owned it. They even mentioned his name then, although it was about 3 tackles after they noted he was a Jamacian native but didn't mention his name. He keeps performing like last Saturday and they will know his name soon enough. ;)

I watched the rest of the game last night, Llama.  I heard the comments you talked about, Jamaican native, he!!, he's a Bridgewater native, now!!

Anyways, JT was the one that stripped the ball towards the end of the game, but Rhein recovered.  It was a great play on Jermaine's part.

CBE, does he know how proud we are of him?  If not, please tell him the next time you talk to him.

GO BC!

Some early ODAC recruiting news:

Randolph-Macon looks like they snagged a nice looking recruit (on paper).

Steven Harvey (Loudoun Valley) was a second-team all-state at linebacker and his district's defensive player of the year.

In an article, he said;

Quote"I really liked Randolph-Macon as a school first of all. I wanted to make sure I got everything I wanted academically," he said. "And talking to the head coach, I liked the things that they talked about and how they run their program."

His teammate, Mike Solberg (LB/DB), chose Bridgewater.  The 6-foot, 184-pounder was all-district second team.  At a combine, he ran the 40 in 4.68 seconds and recorded a 28.1'' vertical.

Pak,
Yes, he knows.  I told him as recently as this past Sunday.  I'll pass it along again when I talk to him next time.

been a long time but i had to get in on the jermaine train here... i talked w/ lang campbell (Thunder's QB) last week and asked him how jermaine was doing. he said he's a great guy. then i asked him how menacing it was to see jermaine's big white eyes glaring back at him at the line of scrimmage and if it was as frightening to him as it was to me when i had to line up at QB as dummy QB in practice sometimes... he said "it was at first, then i got to know him and he's just too nice of a guy to be afraid of now". i guess seeing guys like that all the time kinda grows on you...... not me.

also, wakefield's back in germany doing his thing... dunno how he's doing though

Sunshine emailed me asking for Jermaine's contact info a few weeks ago.  He was going to try to touch base with him while he's over there.  I emailed Brandon back asking for team info, websites, etc but haven't heard back from him.

I don't suppose you taped it for those of us who don't have whatever channel you are talking about?

I sure didn't. :(  I don't have any of that "fancy" hardware to be able to (not even a VCR).

"All you have to do" is order Direct TV (or the Dish Network) over the next three months ($42/month) to catch most - if not all - of his games.

You're a college professor.  I know you have that kind of bling. :)
where I live, not allowed to have the Direct TV satellite on the side of the building.  So no can do.  I can't get my VCR to work and can't figure out how to attach my DVD player.  I'm pretty much nul when it comes to electronics.  But on a higher note, tomorrow I'm going to Chapel Hill to catch the FSU-UNC series and visit some friends I haven't seen for a while.  Hoping it's going to be half way warm down there.  And college profs don't have bling.  it's more like ping, ping,  you know plastic Monopoly money hitting the floor :) :) :)

Keep in mind the Jermaine was in the middle all last year, so I'm sure he's still more comfortable there.  The Bucs switched him to the outside this year, so I'm sure it'll take some time to get oriented there.  He has a little way to go to get to 225.  I'll ask him what he's at now.  He just couldn't keep the weight on last year, and his coaches had him constantly eating.
What he needs are some of my brownies!!  He always used to like them.  He even got them in Green Bay.  If I had an address or an e-mail address sp I could contact him (that's a hint CBE--send me a private message please) I would certainly send him some!!  It's one of the things I do well! :) :) :)

He has been in Germany the past three weeks, had a scrimmage already.  Playing for the same team as last year (Montabaur Fighting Farmers).  Website is still the same: http://www.fighting-farmers.de/

Their first game is Sunday, April 16. He will try and send me results and stats, so I'll start blogging his season after the first game.

FYI Read the front page April 1 Daily Dose "Recruiting Recap: Let's get started."  There are a couple of ODAC and USASAC schools mentioned, including Bridgewater, Emory & Henry, Guilford, Greensboro, Methodist and NC Wesleyan.

Not knowing much about the other two recruits for Bridgewater listed on the Daily Dose, I do know from talking with someone who goes to school with him (and saw all his high school games) that the tight end - Wynn Sigmon (6-4, 242) - is going to be nasty (for those over the age of 29, nasty = awesome).

He's the highest rated player that Bridgewater has landed since The Roanoke Times started ranking the Top 100 football players in Virginia (I believe that started in '98 or '99).  Sigmon is ranked No. 58, and was on the All-State 2nd Team (the TE who beat him out for 1st Team was Dedrick Epps who is headed to Miami, Florida).

From what I was told, Sigmon is an awesome pass blocker (tied for the most pancakes on his team - Franklin County - this past season).  He's a "no fear" type player.

It's also nice knowing we have this highly touted TE coming to BC with the graduation of our top two TEs from 2005.

Also, Bridgewater picked up a 6-3 defensive back.  At a high school combine, out of 129 players, he had the second fastest 40-time.

I figure I better quote this post now in case Kid wants to take down his original message. :)
