This board sucks....Noone should be allowed to say anything unless they preceed it with "Bridgewater owns my team"...From now on I will preceed all statements with that...See ya'll in the fall

That's right, because I never say anything nice about anyone other than Bridgewater.

Welcome back Trenches.  Stick around.  [...] Glad to hear recruiting has (and is) going well for Guilford.  [...]

And that was just this last week.

OK Pat, you make your way around most every board on this site. Are BC fans the most prideful, or some may say arrogant, about their football team? If so, I (we) appologize.

Yes. The two Emory & Henry fans and three Catholic fans were very prone to gang up on ... uhh ... K-Mack and ... uhh ... I can't think of anyone else who posted at that time. :)

My how posters have grown on this site Pat! Question is, has it been for the better?  ??? ;D

I would say you might need to look further west than Minnesota for that answer.

However, simply not being the worst should not be the goal in anything, right? :)

I don't know about LONG TERM posters but I do know there were plenty of posts by what may have been E&H and CUA players running around this site a few years ago posting what amounted to be a lot of B.S.  because we certainly had a pile of bulletin board material hanging in the BC locker room. :)

I think that is when we officially named the ODAC the BCAC. And I think it has been that way ever since  ;D

Well, well, well, don't we have the big head now?

Let's look at the facts from the ODAC site.

Interesting, WLU78.  Hadn't stumbled across that list before, though according to my records, R-M has 8 ODAC football championships.  But I could be wrong.  ;D

Also, R-M was DII in mens' basketball and soccer before dropping down to DIII and competing in the ODAC in those sports in 1990.

Correct it was the BCAC because during the 2000 and 2001 seasons the BC football team was finally making its return as a legit program.  The PLAYERS.. not the fans came to this site to debate with cocky E&H and CUA players and fans that laughed, joked and put down anything and everything Bridgewater... now this was in 2000-2001... Nobody was cocky or big headed.. we were just establishing ourselves within the ODAC again.. I would call it confidence.    Something missing from WLU78's post is:

Stagg Bowl Appearances:

W&L: 0
HSC: 0
E&H: 0
RMC: 0
CUA: 0

BC: 1

There was a reason for the BCAC in 2001.

Also missing is the fact that W&L participates in many more sports both men's and women's than BC.  :P

Welcome to the W&L spin zone....

wrighthall220

Lynchburg 121

I would consider that much more respectable of a number considering they don't carry a few sports programs that W&L does carry.     How many years in a row has Lynchburg won the Track and Field Championship?!?!  It SHOULD be the LCAC.

Quick note that may put some things in perspective:

W&L Varsity ODAC Teams: 20 total
LC Varsity ODAC Teams: 19 total
BC Varsity ODAC Teams: 16 total

So just from a quick look at 3 schools shows that in the ODAC the number of sports programs vary greatly.. which somewhat discredits the TOTAL NUMBER OF CHAMPIONSHIPS.. For example I don't see HSC winning and Women's soccer ODAC titles any time soon.   The ODAC is NOT the right conference for comparing total number of championships.

And honestly... I've only cared about FOOTBALL Championships anyway!

wrighthall220,

I think some non-BC people want us to remind ourselves of this;

Along with the 35-game ODAC win streak, the sixth straight playoff appearances, the 10 playoff wins since 2000 and the five straight ODAC championships, we are still four football titles behind E&H and two behind R-MC.  Not to mention that even having gone 64-11 the past six seasons, we're still at the bottom of the all-time ODAC winning percentage standings;

1. Emory & Henry, .564 (480-369-19)
2. Hampden-Sydney, .526 (469-420-38)
3. Randolph-Macon, .506 (449-438-55)
4. Catholic, .497 (265-268-15)
5. Washington & Lee, .477 (437-481-39)
6. Guilford, .350 (285-540-25)
7. Bridgewater, .342 (184-359-12)

We had only five winning seasons from 1899 to 1999 ... we'll never live that down.  That's why BC fans like to live (and talk/post) in the present, and everyone else likes to put us in our place historically.

But you're right ... the whole "BCAC" was started by C.J. Smart (a former BC player) in 2001.  That quickly died out after he stopped posting, and I don't recall any (or many) fans using that.

Keep drinking the Kool-Aid 78! Don't brag on numbers now. W&L can keep that winning streak in Men's CC and Tennis (sorry Kid ;D). Come-on now, "Take back the shower", win a Football Championship! ;) JK!
