I'd like to hear the scoop on why Jermaine's playing time was spotty. I know they had (Torrey) a DE that they were trying to turn into a LB. I wondered if his NFL team (Texans) put pressure on Berlin to get him LB time.

Have you updated Jermaine Taylor's standing the NFL Europe tackling race?
I was reading on the Tampa Bay site that he finished some where around 5th.

I think that you were right! He tied for 5th!  :-\ ;D  ;) :D  8)  :)

He tied for 4th, too.

Hmmm, wouldn't that be 6th?

Assuming this guy is in his 20's what are the odds his parents were video game nerds in the late 70's early 80's?

6 - Atari Bigby (S), 66

Sorry, I hadn't looked at the numbers until now.  It is tied for 4th.  When someone said tied for 5th, it threw me off.

I mentioned that I saw on the Tampa Bay Bucs site that Taylor was listed as 5th.. seeing that he is tied for 4th I can see where they made the mistake.  No biggy.  :P

Jermaine's back in Tampa now.  I'll likely talk to him in the next couple of days...I'll ask him.   You and Mrs. Hug gonna be in Westminster on 9/2?

One reason mentioned was that they played him on all the special teams, thereby not using him on 3rd downs so he would be ready. Lame excuse I agree. They also had to have I believe National player on the field for every play. #48 a LB was a National player and I believe he was in a rotation with Jermaine thus taking his spot to meet the rules of NFL Europe. I watched every game and Berlin's secondary was horendous (sp). The LB's didn't lose games for them, the secondary and spotty offense did. ;)
There are some experienced LB's in Tampa's camp this year so its still going to be an uphill battle, but I still have faith. Even if JT doesn't make it, he has a great job waiting for him in MD I believe. In this case, smart kids Finish first!

Some ODAC recruiting scoop...

Hampden-Sydney is hoping incoming freshman Bobby Owens is as good as advertised at QB ... they are looking to start him in 2006.

Owens was named the Western Valley District offensive player of the year, leading the Halifax County Comets to an 8-3 record.

Congrats to Bridgewater's Brandon Copeland (WR in football) on being named All-American by finishing seventh in the long jump at the NCAA Outdoor Track Championships today.  Copeland leaped 23'4.75" feet.

McDaniel's Broderick Maybank (RB in football) also earned AA honors by placing fourth with a jump of 23'10".
