Hasanova, my happy fingers forgot the second "o".  I don't know how to edit on this board, so a great big "MY BAD" from an alumni of the "Smartest Students" institution.

BTW - Happy Belated to Kid.  My advice is to remember the words of Mickey Mantle-  "If I had known I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself." ::) ::)

[...] Brandon Johnson [...] is also scheduled to play in the VHSL All-Star game in July.

Shoot, this game might be worth going to then.  Bridgewater has three (maybe four) playing in that game;

  • Tee Anderson (DB from E.C. Glass)
  • Louis Sanchez (OL from Harrisonburg)
  • Seth Little (QB/DB from Turner Ashby)

The "maybe" is Wynn Sigmon (TE from Franklin County).  He's probably our best recruit, but because VA was stacked with great TEs this year, he might be left out of the mix.

Now all I have to do (to attend the July 14 all-star game) is to convince the soon-to-be-wife ... we'll be getting back from our honeymoon on July 7 ... will she let me attend such an event only a week after we start living together?!

*crosses fingers*

Gosh, making plans to head down the road only a week after the honeymoon ends?

Major stones, bud, major stones! Let us know how that works out for you!  ;)

"Really not that big of a difference.  We're better in the big boy sports ... and you guys are better with a racket and stick, with jogging and with riding horses"

Good breakdown Kid.  Now back to the question I posited a while back that nobody will address;

Does the difference in admission standards mean larger recruiting pools (especially in "big boy sports") for the Eagles?

Pretty sure no one would doubt that plays a part.  But just as W&L wouldn't accept an athlete who then goes to Bridgewater, there are a couple recruits (football this year) that I know BC didn't accept and they're going to R-MC and H-SC instead.  Every school has their own standards.  And I'm not suggesting either that BC's standards are "higher" than R-MC's or H-SC's ... everyone does it on a case-by-case basis ... there is no silver lining.

But BC has plenty of athletes that could easily get into W&L (and that the Generals would love to have), but they just didn't consider you all.

As much as you'd like to think it, everything doesn't run through Lexington. :)

As I've said before, it's up to the student (not the college/university) whether someone gets a good education.  The rest is mainly societal-hype when it comes to the quality of the school and what tier it's on.

No problem, WLU78.  lol   I was good-naturedly messing with you just a tad and I'm glad you saw the irony.  By the way, if you write the message, you have the option to Delete and Modify with the icons in the upper RH corner (although they might not be available to a new poster until 50 posts or so).  Delete, of course, will completely remove your message.  Remember, however, if someone has already quoted you in their message then it's still on the board.  For Modify, it will bring the message back up so you can make spelling, grammar, font and content changes/additions.  If you catch it within a minute or so, the time will not change.  If you do it sometime later, though, a message will appear at the bottom telling everyone when you modified the post.  And, as with the Delete key, if someone has already quoted you, the original version will always appear in their post even though you modified yours.  Hope this helps!   Peace

That's why I haven't asked her yet.  But a co-worker taught me an important life lesson...

"It's easier to ask for forgiveness than it is permission."

Looks like I'm telling her on July 15th :D

Great article!!  I know he was very excited when I talked to him a couple weeks ago.  I'm heading down to Tampa this Thursday and hoping to get together with him sometime during the week.
Happy B-day to you Llama!!

QB Robbie Jenkins (BC 2003), WR Marcus Richardson (BC 2001) and the Richmond Bandits will be playing in the first round of the American Indoor Football League playoffs tonight, as they host the Raleigh Rebels (8-6) at the Richmond Colesium for a 7 p.m. kickoff.

The game can be heard on the internet through RadioRichmond.com (click on the link at the bottom of the page).  The Bandits (12-2) are the defending AIFL champions.

Jenkins was also just named AIFL Southern Conference ProStar second team. He led the league in passing yards (3,206) and touchdowns (79) in the 13 games he started at quarterback for the Bandits.

I'll be giving updates and/or posting a final score on my Bandits blog.

The Free Lance-Star has a nice article on Jenkins today;

Thought this poll might be appropriate as we all itch for the 2006 season to begin.

If/WHEN Jermaine makes the team, think anyone can hook me up with an Invite.  I would love to go see him play for the Bucs.  Even though I am a MUC grad, maybe you guys can hook me up since I now live in the Tampa Area.  All DIII players in the pros need some local fans right!?!?  I can get b4uknewit to go to the game with me and root for Jermaine.
