DoO-dOo-DoO-dOo...  :o

Heh, heh... you said doo doo.
You know, I still laugh whenever someone says something like "If I do do it, I'll regret it."  It's grammatically correct, but it's still funny - in a 6th grade sort of way! Here's to all the middle school boys who never quite grow up!  lol

What's even worse is I still (in my head) do a Beavis & Butthead (much like what kirasdad posted) when someone says the do do.

"I do do that for fun!" ... *Matt's head* ... "Heh-heh, heh-heh ... he said do do."

Speaking of mind games maybe the will ask us (BC) to forefiet after the 3rd qtr.. that worked well for Hopkins.  ;D

Did we ever thank Hopkins for that?

We had gone 15-63 in the 78 games prior to that, and we are 65-13 ever since.

DoO-dOo-DoO-dOo...  :o

Don't thank Hopkins. They never offered to call the game -- that's just what Clark told his team that Hopkins did.

I was there dressed for that game.. what story did you hear?

I was totally thinking of Beavis when I wrote that.   ;D

Ahem...changing the subject back to football ::)

Has anybody seen the huge Toyota ad in the August 14th issue of TIME Magazine about Steven Toyota's owner whose son, Jake, who plays for HHS?
It's about Steven Toyota winning the Toyota President's Award again for the 6th year but how Mr. Sodikoff takes pictures for the football team .  Wow what a surprise to see that in a National Magazine.

I was covering the game that night and heard the story you heard. But after I published it, Johns Hopkins called me and said it was incorrect -- JHU never offered surrender. I followed up with Clark on it and he admitted that that was true.

In the end, though, that just makes it a stroke of motivational genius on Clark's part. Sure got you guys fired up, right?

That and using the hand dryers on the footballs. :)

I don't think there's a problem with the truth on this story. It's a bit of coaching gamesmanship that I'm sure any coach would engage in if the opportunity arose. Makes the story a little better, even.

Thanks Pat!
I had not heard that side of the story.. probably too busy celebrating that crazy game.

By the way if I remember correctly it was an O-Lineman that came up with the hand dryer solution.  That game however it went down is one that will always stand out to me.. it was was an emotional rollercoaster for both teams and fans in attendance.   I will tell you that Clark should have won an Oscar for that bit of acting he did that day.. if there was a "Best in Coaching" award he should have won it!  :D
