Hey, Llamaguy,
With the boys entering camp in 2 days and the season right around the corner, I thought I would amble over here to the OADC board and see how you and the Stone Station Crew is doing.  How does the season look for Bridgewater......Do you have alot of returners or trying to "reload?"

Well as usual it depends on who you ask. The BC faithful will tell you that we have recruited well and had ample talent in the rising Sr & Jr classes to cover the 30 some Seniors lost. The rest of the ODAC will point out we are young. I will hold judgement until after Sept. 2nd. If what I think happens on that day the rest of the ODAC will take notice. Barring one word, INJURY, BC will be just fine.  Good luck this year.

As for Stone Station, we rock on. Our Preview day is in about a week and of course we will be setting up a tailgate. For a practice mind you. ;D Yes we love our Eagles and D3football! Play hard and we will be there to feed you again at The Stagg in December. ;)

You will find out what you got if a team that has lost 8 straight (or is it ten) beats BC. IE: GC-Q

Hey ABNRGR,
You gotta ask Skoaltrain about the nice "RACK" he bagged at lunch the other day. Question is, will it make it onto my grill this fall?  ;D ;D ;D

Now wouldn't that be an interesting site to see. A fully crimson painted man driving a nova around the new field while spouting lymerics as "We are the Champions" is blarring from the 8-track in the dash. :D
Regardless I will definitely be in attendance and will experience the reaction firsthand either way. ;)

As a very amused reader, and one who is unconnected to either school, I'd be interested to see this reaction myself. ;)

Point 1 - I'm more accurately a centrist for those who keep score.  :)

Point 2 - I think it's "only" seven in a row.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Quakers won in 1998 and lost to BC in 1999-2005 (as has almost everyone else lol)

Point 3 - Tubs, lotion, etc. - I'm not sure what in the hell that means, so no comment.  I make no attempt to explain some of my esteemed conservative friend's posts.  lol

Llamaguy - It would be interesting to see, if not do, no doubt about that!  A few corrections are in order, however.  I would probably not be "fully painted in crimson" - I'm sure there would also be some tasteful hints of gray.  Driving the red '68 Nova around the track:  can do if the police look the other way - I'm not Luke in the General Lee you know!  Where is Cooter Davenport when you need him?  How about a few doughnuts in the end zone?  Please note: this car was last driven around the Guilford track at the 1970 Homecoming parade (yes, I owned it when I was a student!).  Sorry, the 8-track was removed about 30 years ago - guess we'll have to use some more modern technology.  Got iPod?  Limericks - not a problem!  Let's see "eagle, beagle, legal, Spiegel - it's anapestic, of course, but give me a minute, I'll rhyme it!  He's British, gay and dead (three things I'm not!), but Freddy Mercury did sing a mean sports anthem or two.  I'll put him on the play list along with "another one bites the dust!"  lol    I hope a lot of people will be in attendance on October 14, but unfortunately it's fall break for the students.  I've got my tickets already, so I hope I'll meet some of you guys.  I should be easy to spot - I'll be the crimson (and gray) guy driving a '68 Nova, reciting a limerick that rhymes with "kick an eagle's butt" or some such line and cranking up Queen to about 120 decibels!

Jacketlawyer, may I put you on retainer for the inevitable legal issues that will ensue immediately after this game?  lol  Peace

You're right with point 2.. BC didn't win a game in 98.. the winning didn't start until 99 when we went 5-5.

E&H had 145 report for the first day of camp. Their roster will be posted this Sunday on ehcsports .com.

           Peace I'm the E&H Dad

Llamaguy

Thanks E H Dad for the update.

A few points to ponder as camps open for business for the 2006 season.

1. A quick look at the projected starting rosters and you will find that the entire ODAC is quite young. In fact, BC is the most experienced by age but maybe not by game experience.

   BC = 0 soph's  , W&L = 3 soph's (one of which is Sitterson), E&H = 7 soph's, HSC = 6 soph's + 1 Freshman QB, Guilford = 9 soph's , Catholic = 13 Soph's, 1 transfer, 1 freshman, RMC = 14 soph's

2. A few team thoughts for each team:

BC: Open camp with 140 players, need to develop a goto back-up QB and strengthen the CB & Saftey positions. DB's have game experience as rising Jr's & Sr's played most of the playoff run. Fullback will be a bonus with 2004 starter back and kicking game returns a 2002,2003 starter. Will need to develop TE.

W&L: The keys will be the development of the QB and the Defense. Having the most experienced OL will help and Ward & Sitterson will help with confusion of where the ball is coming from on run and pass plays. The Defense lost key leaders so who steps up to fill the void?

Guilford: Will have the best passing game IF the young OL (4 projected starters are Soph's) can hold up. The bonus for Guilford is that the QB can throw on the move and may have to alot this year. Defense is a huge question mark. If the defense comes through they could make it a 3 horse race.

HSC: Big question = Freshman QB. They have an expienced OL so that will help;however, freshman decision making is freshman decision making. HSC also has an experienced defense so they should be able to hang around in games.

Catholic: YOUTHFUL with talent. We all saw the talent from the QB's and Wr's last season;however, the O-line is rebuilding and Bublavi is gone. Any team that lists a bluechip "High School" lineman already in their starting lineup is not considered deep in my book. Alot of those 13 starting soph's played last year but they are still a year away.

E&H: They have the potential for a great passing season but Monty showed last year that his system comes before the player's strengths. If there is more passing this year they could suprise some people. Their secondary is also young which may not bode well in the pass happy ODAC.

RMC: 14 Sophs (3 on the OL, 3 on the DL, and 2 each at LB & CB) pretty much sum up their situation. They out recruited other ODAC teams last year by saying you can come in and start right away. We see where that got them last year. The game experience may help some and they may battle for 5th in the ODAC.

Llama,

Wow ... excellent breakdown!  You are dead on with most, if not all, your points.  I'll have some next week, and try to offer some different insight so we don't sound like a broken record. :)

I will say to you ODAC fans that D3football.com's Kickoff 2006 is definitely worth getting this year. Had the privilege of getting a sneak peak of the ODAC preview, and there is some 'breaking news' and very interesting insight on nearly all the teams that no one knows (and that I didn't before I read it).  Kudos to Mr. Cummings.  Thank goodness Kickoff 2006 comes out in 10 days, I don't think I could not tell anyone any longer than that.  But I gave Pat my word, so no Llama, I won't even tell you over wings at BW3s! :)

Ahhhhhh, the season is finally here (shoot, I get so itchy, I count summer camp as part of the season).
