Catholic usually has an audio link on their athletics website, but they aren't carried over any radio frequencies.

Yeah, they used to use Teamline ... but it's no longer on their web site.

Anyone know of game notes for Guilford/Methodist or an audio stream for OWU/Catholic?  Only two things I couldn't find.

I have never known of in game notes for the Quakers...

but I have a bunch to do in Gboro on Sat and if I can't make it up to the game (@ Methodist), I'll try to give live updates in the "ODAC in game updates" string during the game.

Hug

We're playing cards tonight at the hug household. Any of you D3ers that live around the BC area stop by. Private Message or email me for directions to my house in Dayton. We are getting started around 7:30ish.

All this facilities talk got me thinking...Time to rank the ODAC according to their football facilities.

Field
1. Guilford - Maybe the best natural grass field I've seen. Whatever they did to it was amazing, and it felt like you were walking on a carpet.
2. W&L - They have the money to afford some groundskeepers, and it shows.
3.Catholic - Field Turf is way of the future. It will be coming to most of these schools in some time. Catholic was last on this list before this year's upgrade.
4. HSC -
5. BC -
6. E&H -
7. RMC -

Stands
1. E&H - Emory has great stands for its home team, and atleast makes an attempt for the visitors. It also has good views for those people who choose not to sit down.
2. W&L - Outdated, but atleast it feels like a stadium. It would be nice if they made some effort to put something in on the visitor's side.
3. RMC - Decent stands for the visitors, and they take care of the home side. Nice press box.
4. BC - They also do decently with the visitor's stands, and the home side is not great but decent.
5. HSC - They have the natural bowl which you play in, which is nice, but not quite on the McDaniel level. Home stands are not up to par, and the visitor's stands are crammed up against the sideline giving the away team no room.
6. Catholic - Completely unspectacular stands which add no charm to the event. A press box that needs to be torn down, and no visiting stands.
7. GC - This is judging before the renovations, since I haven't been down there to check them out. You might as well have lined people up behind the teams to watch games here, and asked them to bring folding chairs. Scaffolding instead of a press box was awful.

Locker Rooms -
1. CUA - Gives decent space with an actual locker room, and they are located near the field.
2. BC - Not great in quality, but they have good locker space and benches, while not located too far from the field.
3. HSC - Their new field house is nice, but the lockers are still small and too far from the field.
4. E&H - Instead of one nice locker room, you get several small ones. The pool is a nice touch.
5. RMC - The Jackets give the visitors a small square room to change in, which is really nothing special. The walk to the field isn't too bad.
6. W&L - The Gennies have an easy trip to the field, but make the visitors change in an empty room, and then walk a mile to the field. Its scenic, but not too convenient.
7. GC - Changing in the old gym is awful, and you have to figure out a maze and a few staircases to find the showers.

Thats a pretty good run down. when did Catholic put down the artificial grass? That stuff is great. I would move Emory up a bit, but I played on BC, HSC, and WL fields toward the middle and end of the year and in some rainy weather didnt help the fields either. But Emory starts with a nice filed every year, but it seems in the past Emory has had a lot of rain which makes for a muddy field. Yes, GC has some amazing grass. Yeah I think EH should dump those visting stands and just put out some lawn chairs...lol.  I remember walking the lonely mile from the WL locker room getting looked at and heckled by snoddy WL fans. I think I fell 3-4 times on that gravel concrete bridge...lol

But overall not a bad ranking of facilities

Catholic put in the Field Turf this past spring, so it will get its first gameday test tommorow. It was a much needed update, what with the E&H game having to be played at Howard last year. The field last year was dubbed the Litter Box for the Guilford game, because there wasn't any grass to be seen, but plenty of quick dry formula.

Are you coming down for the game? If so stop by Stone Station and grab yourself a piece of yardbird and say hello.

Whoever decided it was ok to have weddings during football season should be shot. Time for the 2nd one in as many weeks, and 2 missed games. Good luck to Catholic tommorow against Ohio Wesleyan, and lets see a little win streak for the Cards to get the season started!

Bill McCabe

muchacho,  we told our 2 daughters that anytime between February and July would be good for weddings.  NO Football Season dates.  They both got married in May.  Perfect!

Game Notes | WLUR 91.5 FM (W&L)

A long, long time ago in a galaxy far away I was a DJ on WLUR-FM.  I had to work my way through shifts on the "classical showcase" to finally get my own morning show.  It took me two tries to pass the FCC test, (you had to go to DC to take the test) that was when we still had to calculate the frequency by hand and log it.   And we played records!!!  Wow, I haven't thought of those call letters in a long time.  My dear friend from Hampton VA (who has a stud daughter on the Field Hockey team) would broadcast the lacrosse games when we were Div 1.  Not that that has anything to do with football, just jarred a collection of dead brain cells that happened to refire.  I will be tuned in tomorrow for sure!!

Good luck to all the ODAC teams!
