#25  Albright had one more voting point than BC. They won 34-33. #26 BC beat #31 Shenandoah 49-20. #27 Wooster won big. #28 TX Lutheran lost 31-23 to #11 Trinity TX.
You could make a case for Albright, BC or Wooster at #25.
Good job BC. SU had a close game in the playoffs last year with Del. Valley.

I missed the talk last night about the "trashy" move by the BC coaches (power outage when I got home), but come on.  All you can call those posts, comments by the radio guys and anger by the SU fans is whining.  I was there and it's not like they were throwing 50 yard bombs on the last play of the game.  They weren't really threatening to score and gave some back-ups a chance to play.  Stop crying about how badly the SU guys felt.  I was on the BC sideline late in the game, and there was a certain BC senior who doesn't get in much.  After BC's last score, I saw one of the coaches go up and tell him that if they got the ball back he was going in the game.  The look on his face when the coach told him and when he relayed it to his (friend? girlfriend?)  told me all I would need to know...the kid deserves a chance to run an actual play.  If SU doesn't want the 4th string to score....STOP THEM!!!  I've been on both ends of games like that, and believe me, I'd MUCH rather be in SU's shoes than be a guy who goes in just for the token kneel down.  Three scenarios:  Coach says..."sorry you're not good enough to play at all", coach says "You're good enough to go in when the game's over, but not good enough to run a play", your team gives up a few yards on the last play of a blow-out...I've been in all three and it's much better being the kid in the last scenario...at least you're on the field.    Stop whining, life's not all blue skies and green lights.

Well said, Rugby!  I totally agree.

RMC got beat Saturday afternoon by a good Johns Hopkins team 24-0.  It was 10-0 at the half and we were still in the game, but our lack of a sustained offense drive kept the defense on the field an awfully long time and Johns Hopkins scored a couple of more TD's in the second half.  At least the Jackets showed up and gave a good effort, but they've got a fairly young team and they were playing a team with experience, discipline and skill and just wound up getting spanked.  I noticed the defensive line shuttled in and out fairly often and looked much fresher this week and I thought they played better -- although the defense occasionally managed to make some really good plays and then follow it up with some bad ones.  Overall, I'd have to say the defense is getting there.  If we'd had enough offensive output for some points,  this one would have been much closer.   Our young offense needs to really buckle down and learn quickly so they can contribute more to the game.  It takes time, but I would like to see them be able to put together some sustained drives and get points on the board.  I see bright spots and I'm sure they'll get 'er done eventually.  On to Winchester and the awesome Shenandoah Hornets ... YIKES!!!

My two cents worth ... I agree that when you put in reserves late in the game they should not be asked to just "lay down".  It's their moment in the sun (lights?...) and they should take advantage of their opportunity to play their best and try to score even if it looks like they're "running up the score".   If their opponent's first team can't prevent a score by 2d and 3d teamers then it just underscores the need to work on fundamentals more.  I would say Bridgewater came to play some football and maybe Shenandoah got caught a little flat perhaps.

Please do not give credence to anything that the Sheandoah Radio guys said. They were a bigger set of boobs than...... (insert Pam Anderson joke here) And knew very little of which they were talking about.
If you guys (Shenandoah fans) need to hang on to that last play to make you feel better about the outcome.  Knock yourself out, we're moving on.

i don't understand how running an off-tackle play from midfield (that gains 3 yards) w/ the 3rd string on the last play of the game is running up the score. that doesn't make any sense to me at all.

Every week someone comes over to this board to complain about something that BC did to hurt their feelings. Last week it was not shaking hands. This week it was running off tackle with 3rd stringer. What are you guys gonna do for an encore next week?

Nice photo gallery Pat. Lot of black shirts chasing white shirts and the next picture is a ref with two hands in the air and then the next picture is a an extra point try. Depressing!

In defense of Bridgewater, you can't tell a kid not to score. especially when you have second and third teamers in the game. They may have been kids who have played scout team all week and had their brains beat out. Give me a break---- They want to prove themselves to their coachs and besides that you got Mom and Pop in the stands. Who ever made the score will remember this play for the rest of their life, hell this is probably the highlight of this kid's college career. Football teachs you about the game of life, so Sheandoah get over it life ain't fair at times. Peace---I am the E&H Dad; aka SKOALTRAIN"S STEP DADDY

About all the crying and complaining, 4 words for ya "Nice Guys Finish Last."

Uncle Jessie=Sore Loser.     Maybe SU's varsity team can make themselves feel better by playing BC's JV team on Oct 1st.    I swear the JV team won't run the score up!     If SU's first team D can't stop BC's 2nd and 3rd team O then I guess there really isn't much to say.  Come to think of it SU's 1st team D has NEVER shut down BC's 2nd and 3rd teams..     To say Bridgewater's coaching staff is "trash" is going to far and you know it Uncle Jessie.

cuaplayer,
Next week I THINK it's "Your Momma Joke Night"... every BC player will be required to run into the stands after the game and harass every opposing players mom.  Remember Bridgewater is a "College of Character"   ;D

hilarious,

Maybe one week the BC players should moon the opposing teams fans after the game, ala Randy Moss in Green Bay last year.  Just a thought.   :D

I posted this on the USAC board...and copied it here..

Alright...

I've seen some crazy game ending plays that generated talk, but this is definitely NOT one of them.

Shenandoah punted to BC from their own 14.  BC takes over with 1:08 to go from their own 45.

Two completely unheard-of BC running backs rush for...
No gain on 1st and 10
1 yard on 2nd and 10
5 yards on 3rd and 9
Game over.

Not to mention that Coach Barnes had to be restrained from a BC player, #58 Troy Barnett.  I've never seen a coach go after an opposing player with such malice in his eyes as Barnes did.  I was right there on the field as it happened, about five yards away.

I don't know what was said, but c'mon - get a grip.

The only thing anyone from Shenandoah should be complaining about is the fact that their team laid down in the second half.  After fumbling the opening kickoff in the second half, then Washington's TD (aka the dagger)...it was over.
