Don Hansen posted his picks this week, and he thinks the following games will be blowouts;

N.C. Wesleyan 35, Emory & Henry 7
Guilford 42, Averett 7
Bridgewater 42, Ferrum 14

I highly doubt any of those will happen.  No way BC scores 42 with Ferrum running the ball all game, and I'm pretty sure Averett's offense will score more than seven points.  And since when is NCW a 28-point favorite over a Division III opponent?  Since they've started football, their biggest win was by 16 points over Maryville (Tenn.).

For the ODAC's sake, I sure hope E&H isn't that bad.
I also don't see it as Don does.  I think NCWC and E&H will be close - could go either way.  Same with GC & AU.  BC is certainly capable of winning by 28, but I have a hunch BC wins on the road by a smaller margin - maybe 17.  Just my best guesses.

Is the AFCA ever going to release a coaches poll this year?  Thank God we have Pat and Co. to keep us up-to-date.  These coaches act like they have more important things to do than polling.

Seriously, it's nice to have different prospectives on the D3 teams.  While D3Football polls seem to be the most accurate, the coaches' views are nice to consider also.  I thought they used to release the first poll by Wednesday of the second week of games.

I believe they release it after the third week, because I remember seeing 3-0 and 2-1 records for teams in their first poll last year.

Shoot ... had I known he was going to do a write up about his experience, I would have hooked him up with the leaders of Stone Station (John Coleman, Bo Morris, etc.).  My bad guys ... didn't mean to take the credit. :)

Scott - I do have pictures for you.  I'll email them tonight.  The best one is when Bowman caught a pass and you see Ricca in the background.

Not bad at all Matt.  Any press is Good Press.  You too play an important part of Stone Station so don't feel bad in taking some credit.

As for this weekend at Ferrum, Llamaguy and myself plan to be in attendance.  ETA 10:00 a.m.  Burgers, Brats, Dogs, and some Famous LlamaMama Chili.  Stone Station en Route!

Go BC!!!

You are correct.  I checked last year's first poll and it was Sept 20, 2005, after BC's third game.  My bad.

Looks like I am going to miss the Ferrum game and tailgating.  I need to find a place where they only count beans on weekdays.

Does that mean you're coming?!

I missed you at the Shenandoah game.  I asked your daughter where you were - I'll let it slide this time. :)
