Well I've been away from the board for awhile, but I think my head finally feels better after Sat. Nights celebrations. Congrats to Guilford for the big win and to Bridgewater for that incredible streak they put together. It looks like Guilford finally put everything together as a team. They were able to run the ball which helped the defense out because they weren't covering a 50 yard field. The special teams finally got it together.

Guilford is going to need to do it again this week though because they are playing the Generals. They will need to continue the running game and limit the mistakes. W&L always plays very sound football and wait for you to make a mistake. This strategy didn't work that well for them in G-Boro last year though. But I don't think Guilford can beat them two years playing that way.

Good Luck to both teams this week and good luck to the rest of the ODAC this week. Guilford W&L should be a good one though and I will be listening to see how it goes.

STINK BOX

How bout them Tigers!!!!!!!  Marty Ball has hit a all new high.  The Star Quarteback is gone and Marty has to actually start coaching.  Maybe "flipping it out there" on gameday is not such a good strategy.  How bout take a look at the best team in the confrence.  Great Defense...superior running game and i believe i have actually seen them punt the ball.  How many fingers do you think Favrett will point before he realizes where the blame lies.  how bout stop crying and get in the office and start coaching.  Start spreading the talent around put a decent player on defense and special teams.  Take some pride in the program and pull this thing around.

Thanks for picking a screen name that fits your early posting style.  New posters are often hard to get to know unless they give us a signature name such as yours.  I guess "I-think-Marty-Favrett (sic)-stinks-and-I-just-can't-stand-to-lose-to-W&L-and-BC-again" was already taken.  :)  All kidding aside, keep posting and let us constructively know how the Tigers are doing and evolving in the post-Ricca era.  Peace

That had to have been taken over the course of the last two years.. at least GC made good on their opportunity to knock off BC.. something HSC never managed to do..  ;D

Frustration does definitely kick in after six or seven years.  It's sort of like some of the NCAA DI basketball teams in the late 1960's and early 1970's.  You could have the best players and best teams you had ever had in the history of your school, but everyone knew all roads to the NCAA title had to go through UCLA and John Wooden.  Either get better or decide who has the "honor" of getting the runner-up trophy!

By the way, STINK BOX, my nephew hopes to major in English and is looking at colleges in Virginia.  He's an emotional young man and is considering Hampden-Sydney, but doesn't know if they have an English Department and an anger-management program for undergraduates.  Do they?  Thanks

I'm just playing with him.  Sometimes my sense of humor is a bit sardonic, but I mean it in good fun.  If he has any skill with repartee, he'll come back with something besides "Oh, yeah .."  :)

STINK BOX - just messing with you.  We have all gotten frustrated at times with our favorite teams.  These things go in cycles.  The Tigers will be back.   Peace

Wow, that guy's all over the mapp with his comments. I'd guess he's a former defensive assistant coach or something.

Only kidding with you, WLU78.  :)  "He who throws the first stone should not live in a glass house."  Besides, as wrighthall220 pointed out, I knew you couldn't do anything about it for a few more posts.  lol  I, on the other hand, have nuclear karma capability, but chose not to use it in the interest of world (ar at least ODAC) peace.  Any negative change in your score is not from me.  In fact, I just gave you one on the + side for being a good sport.  :)  Peace

It is probably just as well that I don't have access to the controls.

This is me BEFORE the Karma controls are activated:

Llamaguy, do you have any Prozac samples you could overnight to WLU78?  Thanks!   Too funny, WLU78!  Hey, you were at -8 when I gave you a positive karma this morning.  The -11 you have now did not happen on my watch!  lol  :)

FYI Here's a paragraph I had earlier overlooked in the October 14 GC/BC football program:

"Don't look now, but video Web casting of Quakers' football could be on the horizon.  The ODAC is examining this technology and will attempt to deliver a Web cast of Guilford's Oct. 21 game at Washington and Lee.  Keep an eye on Guilford's athletics Web site (www.guilford.edu/athletics) for more information as it is available."
