Public HS here, too.  A "prefect" was a high official in ancient Rome, so "altus" is Latin actually, for "high."  Just a little play on words.

I was making a jab at the public vs private college issue.....since ODAC is private and so is USASAC except CNU.

I kinda figured those weren't french words.......one of the public schools I graduated from was W&M....

Yeah, I realized that.  Just because a school is public or private, doesn't necessarily mean it's good or bad ... each institution has to stand on its own merits!  W&M is a pretty darn good college regardless of who's running the place! 

PS I'm sure you've seen similar shirts, but I've seen a couple of women wearing T-shirts that say College of Mary and William!
