As always, photographer Tim Bates does a nice job.

Jacketlawyer - Will you be in Ashland for RMC's Homecoming game against Guilford this weekend?  I'm still considering the ride up if you're going to be there.  Is it my imagination or is it a fact that the Quakers are everyone's Homecoming game this year?  lol  :)

Jacketlawyer

Hasanova, I do plan to be there, though this year's campaign thus far has seriously exhausted any masochistic tendencies I might have. ;)

Should this change I will let you know immediately!

Totally off topic but...

Kid,

I hope you keep up the BC stats on your site..until a new one starts that beats our "old" records.   I think keeping up the 36 straight ODAC wins and other stats that may become irrelevant come seasons end is a good reminder of what we've accomplished and how high the bar STILL is for future Eagle players!    ;D

Back on topic.. I think WLU will give us a good run for our money but I hope the BC players step up and take pride in preparing this week and come out and leave every last drop of energy on the field come Saturady.

BC 23- W&L 20... I don't doubt W&L but I have FAITH in BC and always will.

Win or Lose I'm still proud of our guys this year and if we finish 8-2 or even 7-3 that is still something to be proud of!  There are plenty of teams around the country that would love to have a winning record.  If we end up not winning the ODAC title this year  I will support whatever team does for as long as they keep their season alive..

GO BC!   GO ODAC!   ;D   This year has been very exciting!  8)

When I was a Guilford student, a particularly tough professor in the Physics Department was returning exam papers.  It was an exam where one guy with three pocket protectors, duct tape on the middle of this glasses, a monogrammed slide rule and a short-sleeve oxford-cloth shirt with an unbuttoned collar on one side and the front panel buttoned one button off all the way up made 100 and the best anyone else could do was maybe 47, tops!  You know what I'm talking about ....  All the non-mutants let out a collective groan and started complaining when they saw their score.  "Now, now," the professor said, "you know sadists are people who do good things for masochists!"   Just think of the 2006 RMC Jackets as your own personal sadistic character builder!  lol  :)

Where the hell was Bates from 2000-2004? Those pics are oustanding.

Vogie looks like Sonny Jorgenson (w/o the belly or the pint of Jack on his hip) with that delivery doesn't he?

Wright, I don't see BC scoring 23.  The trouble with the BC offense the last two weeks coupled with a very stingy W&L Defense.  I think if BC wins it will be a very low scoring event.

As I said in an earlier post, the only way BC wins is to dominate the 1rst half, building BC confidence and shaking the General's.  Otherwise the W&L defense will grind BC down and the mistakes will begin and the General offense will capitalize on them.

Should be a good one, what is the weather forecast?

I don't think 20 points is a stretch.. that's only 2 touchdowns and a couple field goals.  I see BC having the ability to score 2 TDs and then going on to kick 3 FG's.. if GC can put up a few touchdowns so can  BC.  The W&L D is scary but I see a rushing  TD and a TD to Copeland somewhere in there.   I don't expect the offense to struggle this week as they have in the past few weeks because at this point BC has nothing to lose.. air it out, pull out the trick plays (which haven't made many appearances this year) and I see it as a close game.  History is also on the side of this being a close game.  Who knows I could be wrong but I have faith in Clark and his assistants to pull out all the stops this week.  Having been a part of the 5-5 99 team through the 02 season I remember the days of BC not having ANYTHING to lose.. I imagine most of the coaching staff does as well.  W&L is great this year but it will take a huge bat to knock the BC monkey off their back on Jopson Field and the guts by the coaching staff to go all out.. E&H took chances that paid off.. will W&L?

I'm sure you know I am more than old enough to remember Sonny Jurgensen.  lol  There was a time when there were no NFL teams south of DC, so the Redskins were it.  Since he was from Wilmington, NC and Duke and was the Redskins QB, every NC boy knew who he was.  :)  A pure drop back passer if I ever saw one!  Win or lose, you had to watch.  :)

I've actually never met Tim Bates, so I don't know his association with Guilford.  Maybe Trenches, GCOL or Quake75 can tell us.  All I know is he does a great job!

Enjoying the boards today, guys (and gals).  Working on an appellate brief, and enjoying the breaks. ;D  No to mention the laughs. :D

GO JACKETS.

Sonny was with the Philadelphia Eagles from 1957-63 and the Redskins from 1964-74, so he went to DC about the time I started to notice the NFL.  They always announced a player's college during his introduction and when I was real young I thought they played for the college on Saturday and the NFL team on Sunday.  Now that's a busy schedule!   lol

Who sold hot bananas he'd steal
When arrested for theft
He had eaten what's left
So he won, but then lost on a peel!

I know I've chosen a convenient time to make my return to the ODAC postboards, as GenerallyTim or D-R or whatever...

But anyway, I'm back.  Go Generals.

Having seen the GC game I just can't say enough about the Generals defense.  The Quakers score should've have been even lower if not for a debatable 3rd down Pass Interference call on a ball that was 8 yards underthrown.  But that's being nit-picky.

I do want to make a few reflections:

1) I'll be there at Jopson this weekend.  With bells on.  Or royal blue at least.  No bowties.

2) I earnestly would like to say that for the most part, the BC posters have responded very graciously to the Eagles recent struggles.  For all us non-BC posters, it's always felt like an "us-against-them" situation, but I find it difficult to gloat when I realize that BC people, at the end of the day, are ODAC football fans, same as me.

That being said, I hope W&L can keep the streak alive and take advantage of the suddenly vulnerable Eagles.  I'm sure Forma80 and "bangwell" barnwell??  would agree.

go gennies.
