Nice one, Mizzou.

EHCTailgate is queer. ::)

You are the shiz, kid!

GO CAPS!

EHCFAN

Great Web site I just found it.
It is good to see that there are alot more ODAC posts than any other conference in the South Region

Lots of Bridgewater fans I see.  Good luck to you.  It is hard being on the top I hope the team and its fans handle their success as well as they handled their lack of it previous.
I think calling EHC the Butthole of the State might be a little harsh.  Also, Calling someone queer for a post that you may not agree is not cool.
Either way, Enjoy your success as long as it lasts.  As we know at EHC it is bitter when it ends.  Hopefully they  will get the program turned around so there is a little more competition for BC.

I heard a rumor that HSC lost the QB Ricca for the year.  Anyone else heard that? :o

Matt Barnhart (kid)

I've confirmed that that rumor is false.

EHCFAN,

Welcome aboard.  Come season time, you should find at least one or two posters, if not more, representing each school in the ODAC.  The largest chunk is the BC contingent.

Since you're new, I will point out that Swish is not a BC fan.  His comment "EHCTailgate is queer. ::) GO CAPS!"

is just his light-hearted response to to EHCTailgate's earlier comments about CNU's success being 'fishy'.  Just thought I'd clear that up before any other new posters mis-read it.

Bridgewater will lose a conference game this year.

wrighthall220

Ring it up! Lynchburg a football-less school thinks BC is going to lose an ODAC game this year!  :o  Wow!

wrighthall220

Does anyone know what the "Karma"  section of this board does/means?

skoaltrain

Wrighthall; I live in Lynchburg so I can take a trip down Lakeside Drive and see why Scottie Too Hotless thinks BC will lose a conference game.  He must be thinking of a different sport.  I think he means Girls Field Hockey.......

Hug

This just in........BC is better this year than the last three years!

Thanks for clearing up the Ricca rumor Kid
There seems to be some knowledgeable folks on this site.

Anyone know anything about Guilfords new program?

I recently heard that Roanoke college is starting a football program next year?  Anyone else hear that?

Has BC decided on a QB?

Pat Coleman

Guilford is not a new program. Guilford has had football for some time.

Roanoke has made no announcement about football.

Local newspaper article indicates Lewis (Sr., W&M transfer) seems to be leading the competition.

As far as ODAC expansion I have mixed feelings.  Problem is, not enough schools have made the comittment (financial and otherwise) to support competitive football programs.  To compound that, state teams like CNU and SU have made that comittment and have pulled into a similar class with BC.  No other ODAC shools have done that yet.  HSC is the closest thing we've got and they do not have one single solitary important win to speak of in the past five years.  When they go out of conference (to play average at best CAA teams) they lose.  Do we really want Roanoke to have football or will they be another Guilford?  I think we would be better to build from within.

My point is right now as much as I hate to say it the ODAC is not a good conference.  Don't agree, well give me a fact that proves otherwise.  Tell me what team besides Bridgewater has beaten anybody good outside the conference in the past 5 years.  I know there is optimism at a few schools with new coaches but the fact is coaches can't play the games and the proof there will have to be in the pudding.  Mt. Union had great coaching but most of all they had outstanding players at ever position.  To think Montgomery can transfer success without drastically upgrading Emory's quality of football players is ubsurd.  He need to find a way to get good players to come down there.  If he can't, he won't win.  Let's face it folks, the Dixie, SCAC, or whatever it's called now is the better conference until other ODAC schools step up and prove something.  They are obviously pumping more money into their programs (ever been to a game at CNU or SU?  It's nice!) and getting better quality athletes than the majority of ODAC schools.  There's been preseason talk about ODAC parity for the last four years but it hasn't happened and any talk of it happening now or in the forseeable future is just speculation.

EHCFAN

Miz this is a message board: which breeds speculation.  When I said Guilfords new program I meant new Coach. Sorry

I agree however that there needs to be more of a financial committment and much more from several institutions to make this a more solid football conference.  The other conferences are coming on strong and may dilute the talent that the ODAC gets.   Bridgewater is doing it with solid recruiting, Good Coaching and getting players that want to play football.  Division III athletes are a different breed than most.  90% of them are kids that just want to keep playing ball somewhere.  They work hard and make themselves better.  The other 10% are studs than have fallen thru the cracks for a number of reasons(IE J. Taylor Bridgewater, Junior Lord Guilford etc.)  To win DIII games you must have both.  All the ODAC schools are private and very expensive.  Most to my knowledge are very good schools. CNU is a state school making it a lot cheaper.  They are near the beach where there is a greater talent pool than around most ODAC schools.

I don't believe that any program can turn around over night.  Nor did I say that.  Players win games, but at this level Coaches make a greater difference in motivating the non-scholarship athletes, recruiting, and X's and O's.

Miz is right E&H and several other ODAC schools got caught  in the stone age.  When they come out of it the football should be better.

The repetitive notes about the last five years-blah blah blah-Most of these schools have been playing for close to a hundred years.  The last five were dominated by Bridgewater, the rest of the century produced a lot of good football teams in this conference.

For the Record If Bridgewater gets the Bid we at E&H will be rooting for them in the Playoffs as we should.  But till then I hope they lose every game.

new from the BC house.   Craig Smith....the senior, captain middl linebacker could be out for the year.  Word from camp is that he tore his achilles tendon at practice and might be out for the year.  NOT A PROBLEM though.  we always have reinforcements here at BC.  :)  but thoughts and prayers go out to craig and the smith family on a full recovery.
