Kid......a romp!?!

I think that's been identified as a gift by Snakehandler.  Four turnovers????
That decides a game my friend.

Yep....a gift.  Face it........you're scared of the Wasps turn around
this year.  We're back........and everyone is worried...just won't say it.

I certainly don't want to discourage you.  I expect you and fellow Wasp fans to be high on what you've seen this season.  A possible 6-4 record compared to a 1-9 from 2005.  Not to mention how you took care of business by beating us on our own field - very impressive.

I just think having started out 3-1 in the ODAC (beating 2-7 R-MC and 3-6 CUA, and losing to 3-6 H-SC) didn't warrant the playoff talk and "we're back" before having played the Generals and Quakers.  Then you lose your starting QB and two top WRs and a defensive player of the year candidate (Doss), so next year you'll have questions.

On the surface, I believe W&L would be sent to Wesley in round one.

casper

I'll give you 50% right, Kid.

You might have heard, read or seen.....we're a very, very young
squad....but we are losing some key skill players.

We are definitely back.  But I said nothing of a playoff run.  I would have
liked one yes.  But this season has been a breath of life and our
players worked hard for it.

Sounds to me like parity is the best explanation for all of the ODAC contenders.

I don't see much of a chance at all of W&J going to Wesley
Dickinson and CNU are both closer to Wesley and CMU is real close to W&J.  And then there is the consensus by some of the gurus that Wesley may get the #1 0in the East if those teams falter this week.

PA_wesleyfan - Pat C. mentioned W&L.  Have you confused W&L with W&J or am I misreading your post?

yep I did hasanova , but I still think that  if Dickinson and CNu are closer to wesley

Why was Guilford's Vogelbach was named offensive player of the week over Bridgewater's Brandon Copeland?

Vogelbach: 397 passing yards, 5 touchdowns
Copeland: 217 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns

Vogelbach's yardage was the fourth-most in the conference this season, while Copeland's set a conference season high by 31 yards.

Vogelbach is the fourth Guiford offensive player to earn the award, while Bridgewater hasn't had one all season.

Now, had any other ODAC quarterback had that kind of game, yes, i can see they being the best performance of the week.  But for Vogelbach, that's par for the course.  Copeland set a school-record with his game.

Two more papers ran the story today...

* The Roanoke Times (Roanoke, Va.): Guilford hopes to avoid forfeits

* News-Record (Greensboro, N.C.): An ineligible player causes Guilford grief

Lil late, huh? I mean the DNR beat them by almost a week on these. :)

The players didn't play well.  The coaches didn't coach well.  The cheerleaders probably didn't cheer well.  Hell, I grilled like sh*t at the tailgate.  Just wasn't our day.

That's funny.

Because Dickinson or CNU are closer to Wesley does not mean that they wouldn't send W&L there.  If any of the three are to sent to Wesley, who is closer will not be a decision in the process as long as there isn't a flight involved...which there isn't.

Yep I wasn't thinking  about the actual seatings because of the Texas subregional rule. I actually corrected my self on the playoff board about the ncaa not caring if a bus ride is 250 miles or 100.

QuoteFifth, CUA numbers looked very low on their sideline.  I don't think they had over 45 players, maybe 50 tops

That could just be how many they decided to bring on an overnight trip. Remember that budget is still a factor in D3. With such a young team, they don't have much depth at all. Bringing guys who you know aren't going to play doesn't make sense if you have to count every last dollar.

As far as Catholic is concerned...Ricca had 5 INTs yesterday, while Catholic's D has 5 picks all year long. Amazing that they can even have 3 wins with that type of disparity.

To answer the poll question ...

Your fate might be alright, since you'll likely avoid Texas teams and Wesley in the first round.

I see the ODAC champ going to CNU. I don't see why not, unless it's judged that neither of the teams should host a first-round game.

Cummings is right, the selection committee will try to follow seeds unless it makes sense not to to avoid paying for a flight.

Well shoot, I might have to retract my earlier "likely."

Someone has to fly to Texas (unless they fly HSU out) and it ain't gonna be Wesley.

I'm just making this up off the top, but what about:

HSU at Dickinson
Trinity/Millsaps at UMHB

CNU at Carnegie Mellon
W&L at Wesley

I dunno. I guess I'll take my speculation to the South Region speculation board.

Sorry for solving all of nothing above.

I always forget W&J!

Dang Llamaguy, the RMC/JMU day is hardcore. I like it!

Regarding the refs, I wonder if they know the guys doing the ODAC usually end up in the ACC after a while. There is not as much disparity between officials as there are players.

You gotta hate how the uninitiated dis D3, but at least the I-As we can laugh at them and the BCS. Good luck with that!

Just got back from a full day a football. In Ashland to see BC dominate the secondhalf in their victory over RMC. Then a quick trip back to the 'burg to watch #4 1-AA JMU dismantle K.C. Keeler's Delaware Blue Hens 44-24.

Congrats to W&L on the ODAC Championship and good luck in your playoff run. We will all be behind you. A few thoughts on opponents: possible senarios are 1) a trip to Washington & Jefferson, 2) a trip to Wesley, 3) a trip to Texas, and a long shot 4th option would be a trip to CNU.

I must shoutout to my boy Brandon Copeland. Eight catches for over 200 yrds receiving with 2 TDs. He set the single game record for receiving yards in a game at BC. Way to represent the #87. ;)

Finally, the funniest comment heard during today's football. Listening to the JMU broadcast while at the game the play-by-play guy says, " did they replace these refs with a D3 crew?". Kid and myself immediately look at each other and just shake our heads..........priceless! :-\

muchacho - Good point.  I guess it's the longest road trip in the ODAC with the possible exception of Washington, DC to Emory.  You're right, it is an added expense to bring guys you know won't play.
