oh, and by the way, W&J's QB opened the game against Allegheny w/ 21 straight completions (NCAA record)... his QB coach: Brandon Wakefield. that's pretty damn impressive

Outsider is correct about how the Db's are taught. It's just that if you are with the WR, at the hip, and he looks for the ball then you do the same. I just believe that the defensive play calling takes away some of the aggressiveness the defense has had prior to the last 2 years.  Wasn't at the game on Sat. and it sounds like the QB was the truth, but 6Td's and no int. Still dont think the play calling is aggressive enough. Where is Coach Rob when you need him?

I mean the Nebraska crowd and everything. I know it was a heart breaker to lose on a field goal block 7-6. You Pitt guys played great D.

unbelievable... the people there are truly college football fans. everywhere we ran into them they were more than polite, wishing us well, hoping for a great game; the people working at the cornhusker marriott went out of their way to make us feel like it was a home game and we were undefeated. the stadium doesn't look like it seats 70+ thousand, but they pack em in there. their putting up a HUGE jumbotron, and by huge i mean as wide as BC's press box and twice-3X as tall... i was in the box for the game so i couldn't get a bead on the crowd noise during the game, but they seemed to be in it. gave a long standing ovation when our safety was carted off the field after dislocating his ankle. after the game our plane wasn't ready for 5 hours, so they let us hang out in their athletic center (which is much better than ours and we were ranked 3rd in the country when ours was built). the whole crowd (except one drunk) said great game tough loss etc after the game. one guy even shut the drunk up. overall, save for the loss, it was a great trip... still doesn't beat VT's atmosphere though. and from what i hear nothing does...

Not much talk about the upcoming game this weekend at Bridgewater?  I just looked up GMU's website to find some info about their so-called football program and I ran across their photos from their 2004 campaign.  Here is the link.

Man, nothing against George Mason University but these guys look like a bunch of misfits.  Sorta like the Island of Misfit toys on Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer.  I hope we call off the dogs early.  I'd be using this game for my second and third and forth and fifth teams to get some reps.  I think Stone Station could put together a team and beat these guys.  Maybe they will make it a flag football game so no one gets too hurt.

I would say Good Luck but I think all they will have to do is show up.

I don't know about beating them, but we could definitely field a larger team than them. 46 on the roster and I know of atleast one of those who has left the team. ;)

I also know that their starting QB has dislocated/broken his jaw.   The game should be interesting to say the least.

I opened the link that Skoal provided for GMU and this reminds me of the 1972 "National Lampoon" High School year book. Misfits is not the word. BC will score 80 points....1st half

Holy crap.  Even the equipment manager!!!  Wow.  And what was up with that DB in the back row?  Where in the heck was he looking?

From what I've heard, they have six legit D1-AA players ... here are pics of three of them:

B.J. Quigley
6'1'' 200-lb QB

Dwayne Punter
6'0'' 205-lb RB

Tim Coogan
6'4'' 350-lb OL

Their other studs are their leading rusher (Tyrone Nunnally - 5'9'' 200-lb RB), leading receiver (Ray McCarter - 6'1'' 175-lb WR) and leading tackler (Jeff Remick - 5'11'' 200-lb LB).

And keep in mind that "those misfits" lost by only four (17-13) last year to N.C. Wesleyan, a DIII team that beat Chowan the week before, and beat Averett the week after (and fininshed with two other DIII wins).
