It is nice to know that hsc has an EAGLE permanently displayed in its football stadium, appropriate.

::) ::) Back when that thing was donated to the college, I'm guessing nobody cared because the Tigers whipped the Eagles pretty much every year.  Perhaps we need to ask our Jacket friends a favor in regards to that $&@% eagle!! Or better yet, sounds like a good job for the pledges of one of the H-S frats. Dress it up with Macon fingerprints all over it!!  ;D ;D

I know the eagle statue got a paint job when I was at Macon (though I didn't do it) in '83 or '84.  But I haven't heard of anything like that since.

Th rivalry has died down a bit since the days of the '60s and '70s when R-M was still all male, and the feud was literally out of control.

I know they tried doing the Tiger/Jacket Cup for a while where they did a blood drive, a intramural flag football game I think between the champs from each school, and then the actual football game. My understanding is that this was an attempt to get away from all the negative stuff. Problem was, the intramural game was in the AM. By the time the football game started, lets just say that everyone at the intramural game was well lubricated.  :o

Probably too many times watching Animal House ....  that certainly sounds like it could be a serious accident, but I sincerely hope the young man will make a speedy recovery.  Looks like the EMU Dean will have a busy couple of days.

My condolences on the shooting at Virginia Tech. Since it was in your state, it will unfortunately probably touch some of you, and for that I'm sorry.
What a horrible tragedy.

Well, this stuff do happen...I recall at BC I want to say Chrismast 1979 my hallmates on Wright 3third East really wanted to win the christmas hall decorating contest-I think there was a bet with their girlfriends in Dillon in play.  So they convinced Prof Thornley's daughter to let them lborrow her pony for a manger scene, and led it up to the third floor.

Pony gets nervous, and starts pooping up a storm.  They try to lead him back down...and discover to their amazement the animal will not go down the stairs.  TR was called, and he was not amused.

Finally got in a vet to sedate the horse enough to get him down the stairs.

Ultimately, we won the contest, but the hall smelled like horse byproduct for days.

I also want to extend my heartfelt thoughts and prayers to all the shooting victims, their families, and the entire Virginia Tech and Blacksburg communities.

I join the D3football family in my condolences for the Hokie family.

I have not read the writings of the young man, but the headlines indicate he is blaming everybody else for making him do this.  What a twisted logic.  Because he is unhappy he feels like he can murder innocent, totally random people.

Unfortuneately there is no defense for this behavior other than a society that moves away from narcissism and toward service for others and industry for the betterment of oneself.  As long as we promote a culture of victimhood then we get the weirdos that justify their horrific acts as revenge for their victim status.

What a freaking shame.

There is no question in my mind but that the Tigers were the best 4-6 team in the ODAC and mabye the universal!

Frankly I will take a 7-4 record,  maybe the worst 7-4 in the ODAC but a 7-4 with a Championship!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

On behalf of BC faithful, you are VERY welcome. :)

It just so happens that Jostens requested we not win it for one year.  Their BC ring making machine needed a rest. ;D

Uncle Salamander,

Welcome to the board. I applaud your first post.  A fresh face is hard to come by around here. Especially one that's not an Eagle.  Don't let "The Man" bring you down. It's April, you had a "quote" from a head football caoch of an ODAC-title contending football team, that you wanted to share. I'd say that's pertinant. You keep posting, and let us know how Marty-Ball is working out down there.
