llama, what are the plans for the early start?  we will be there friday night, about the same time as last year 900 or so, i hope.  i dont think we will make a trip into roanoke since the game and tailgate will start so early, but let me know if there are plans to be at the same bar, the name of which i forget.  i may try to leave a little earlier, but that may depend on the wife who has had to work overtime recently.  also, what is on the menu?  we may bring something to add to it, cheese and pepporoni or something like that.  i will certainly bring some microbrew from pa, going with victory out of downingtown, great variety pack.  also may pick up some troegs or lancaster brewing co.

really looking forward to seeing you guys again snce it didnt work out this year for tailgating at wesley.  i have tickets in row 2 waiting for me at will call, so i was able to get the same as you guys.  had to call the ticket agency since ticketmaster was only giving the west stands.

talk to you during the week and see you guys on saturday.

wesleydad....look forward to meeting you Sat. I like your idea of bringing regional brews. I have had several of the Victory and Troegs but not familiar with Lancaster. Virginia has a few good ones these days. I have a few in the fridge from Starr Hill and Blue Mountain in Albemarle County near Charlottesville that I will bring Sat. Unfortunately, I drank the couple of 22's I had of one of the best (Legend Brown Ale) made in Richmond.  :-[  I'll see if I can round up a few before Sat. There is also Dominion in NOVA that has several great brews. Maybe we can have a little pre-game micro tasting.  ;D  This ole redneck beer snob has also been drinking some great Shiraz of late. I would bring some along but am afraid Llama and Co. might kick me out of the family for turning Stone Station into a UVA tailgate.  :D

ROFL! I attended a few of those this year. Good thing Mr. Barnhart doesn't frequent this site as much anymore. :D He may be there to defend himself on Saturday!

What the heck is a Shiraz?

I'll be bringing a hometown brew that is made down in Elkton, VA - Coors Lite -----come on.

That a boy Snake....I knew I could count on you for a response!!  ;)  I drink Coors Light all the time when I am thirsty and need a glass of water.  :D
Great news....I just ordered a case of Legend Brown Ale. A local merchant was able to get for me. Will arrive by Friday. Come on Snake...hoist a pint with me Saturday. I promise it will go great with the planned menu.

Syrah is a dark-skinned variety of grape used in wine. Syrah is grown in many countries and is primarily used to produce powerful red wines, which enjoy great popularity in the marketplace, relatively often under the synonym Shiraz. Syrah is used both for varietal wines and in blended wines, where it can be both the major and minor component. It is called Syrah in its country of origin, France, as well as in the rest of Europe, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay , and most of the United States.

I once went out with a gal named Syrah. Atleast that is the way I pronounced it as she walked out the door toward the walk of shame at ole BC. Must have been some of them there Coors Lites that altered my speech. :o

And yes BH2H, wear the @*^& ring, you earned it! LOL!

well, only 2 days to go.  i have procured a case of Victory variety pack, brewed in Downintown Pa, a case of Lancaster Brewing Co variety pack brewed in Lancaster Pa, and while i was at the beer distributor i could not pass up what i believe to be some of the best beer around, Weyerbacher - variety pack brewed in Easton, Pa.  i am glad to share some of Pa's finest brews with all the good folk of Stone Station and anyone else who wants to partake.

I have to check the plans, i think we shall arrive around 830 - 900 if all goes well on the road.

safe travels to all and we will see you friday evening or bright and early saturday morning.  i am not sure, but this may be the earliest that i have had a brew that was not a contiuation from the night before. ;D

Unfortunately, I will not be able to make it this year.  My 20 yr old daughter broke her hip last year in a swing dancing move that went terribly awry.  Things did not heal as well as we would have liked and due to avascular necrosis she is having a hip replacement on Wednesday--as much as I'd like to go to the game, I think I'll be a good dad and stay home and help take care of her.

Have a beer (or more) for me--and keep my daughter in your thoughts, if you would.

GO RAIDERS!!  (Hope to see y'all next year)
So sorry to hear about your daughter!!!  I hope today went well!!  I need to have my hip replaced next year, but I'm an old bag so it is an expected thing!!!  We will all keep your daughter and family in our thoughts and prayers!!!

I thought "old people" were early risers!  ;)  This "old people" is.  :D Allsky7 + 1 checking in. See everyone Saturday AM rain or shine. But let's make it shine how about it!  There should be enough pull on this board to make it happen if everyone gets their request in.

We get up and pee and go back to bed. ;) Kevin and I will be doing the 24 hour turn around from the Akron Ohio suburbs to Salem and back. I can't leave till 9:30 Friday night. If you see me wandering around the parking lot, feed me coffee and sugar. I'll be fine.

I can't figure how which e-mail address had my skoaltrain profile on it?  It's like it doesn't exist anymore.  How sad....I guess we can take this off the board and get fixed.

just want to wish anyone traveling to the stagg a safe journey on the roads.  we will be on the move at about 300 unless i can get some of my friends to cover a class or 2 and i can get out a little earlier.  the sooner the better.  we are looking forward to the trip and seeing some old friends.  if people get out of my way we may make the friday evening meeting if you all will still be there around 9 or so.  since i know the scenery will be good you guys may just still be there.  if we dont make it we will see you bright and early on saturday.

Ladies & Gentlemen....the moment you all have been anxiously awaiting.....

I hope I am wrong but barring Purple Raider TO's, I don't see this game being particularly close.

Mount Union 41
Whitewater  24

And now some red meat to chew on. I fully expect to get hammered on this but that's OK. It's a long off season starting tomorrow afternoon and this will give us something fun to play with.  ;)
I have enjoyed watching MUC and UWW slug it out over the last few years but it is time for these two programs to move on and let someone else play. The WIAC needs to become a D2 conference and Mount Union needs to join the MAC or something.  :D Or at the very least, once the playoffs start, we need to make these two teams play with one arm tied behind their back.  ;D
OK....here is where all the purple people out there say "if you don't like it, other programs need to raise the level of their game".  The reality is, IMO, that isn't going to happen. If it could happen, it would have already happened. The Bridgewater team of 2001 was an anomaly. For me personally, I am thankful for the 2001 Eagles because it broadened my awareness of D3 in general. Friendship and fellowship has resulted. An ODAC team advancing to the 2nd round is about the best they are going to do most years. I am not familiar with all D3 conferences around the country but I suspect this is the reality for most of them.  While other D3 conferences may play on a higher level than the ODAC, most are a far cry from Mount Union or UWW.
Tomorrow, we celebrate the culmination of another D3 season. I will be there with Legend Brown Ale in tow. I look forward to a toast with my purple friends, the Stone Station folk, and all other fans of D3.
     Let the hammering begin!!  ;)
