2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

W&L just punched it into the end zone on 4th and 1. Pending the PAT, it's F&M 29, W&L 20.

Good luck to the Eagles today!

Good luck to the Cavs. UVA 14,William & Mary 13 Halftime

Go give the Cavaliers your halftime motivational pep talk.

HSC85

HSC  was very impressive today on both sides of the ball.  Offense was extremely sharp and the defense allowed only 2-3 first downs in the first half.  The only points that NCW scored in the first half was after a fumbled punt on the HSC 8 and they gained zero yards in three plays and settled for a field goal.  As was already posted halftime score was 41-3.  Very surprising outcome.  I expected a real competitive game based on how much NCW had coming back on offense.  I don't know what it says about the rest of the season but it was certainly a one sided game today.

Sorry Kid. Better luck against Texas Christian.

Hampden Sydney is #42 in the nation with 11 voting points in the latest D3 Football.com poll.

HSC did look very good on Saturday. Too early to tell what the season holds, but if the Tigers defense continues to play at they level they played this past Saturday, the Tigers will be a very good football team.

Offense was fun to watch as always. NCW had no answer as they gave up almost 500 passing yards in the first half. We all know other teams will make adjustments as the season progresses via scouting reports & game films and the Tigers offense might slow down accordingly, time will certainly tell. Many big games down the road, none bigger then the next opponent.

Good luck to all ODAC teams this coming week.

Someone had to have seen Macon play King's.  Far from a blowout loss.  Could someone fill me in? ;D

R-M starts a tough road swing with Hopkins, Shenandoah and Catholic all on the road.  Projections?

Although I did not attend the game, I was looking through the stats to make this assumption.  Macon did not run the ball well.  They netted 97 yards on 37 carries and for a team that over the past few years that has leaned on the run, 97 yards does'nt cut it.  Matthews carried the ball 25 times for 84 yards, which isn't awful but it is not close to the 135-150 yards a game Thornton usually gave.  Faulkner completed just over 50 percent of his passes for 128 yards and a touchdown.  Macon had the time of possesion but Kings rolled up over 100 more yards of offense.

Defensively, Macon gave up a 100 yard rusher and had over 230 yards of rushing offense, 335 total.

I know that running the ball and being able to stop the run are fundamentals of Arruza's gameplan.  Although it does not appear they executed that gameplan, they were still in the game and should have been closer due to a missed field goal.

As for predictions, Macon has a number of things to improve before they head to Baltimore this weekend.  It is only the first game of the season and I am confident that Macon will turn things around very shortly.  They are heading into a Hopkins team that was tabbed to win thier conference.  If Macon can get Matthews up around the 120 mark and hold hopkins to under 150 yards rushing, I say that Macon wins in a close one.  Good luck to the Jackets.

Once again, this is just looking through the stats and imagining what might have happened.
