How does RMC look ?

I think we are steadily improving.  Sounds as if Pedro has a system in place that's become reliable, even with losing two players who were arguably our best returnees.  Heard, and read, that the Jackets v. Gennies was a real doozie. :o

We play Frostburg State this weekend in MD, I believe.  Unfortunately, I don't think I'm going to be able to see the Jackets play until The Game. :(

That three game stretch is as difficult as any ODAC team will face this season.  If E&H goes through those three games and stays undefeated then they will certainly deserve to be conference champions.
I think that any team's run through the ODAC is tough. Every team has their seasonal ups and downs, but I think that any ODAC team can beat another ODAC team on Saturday. The Waspers are focusing on the Tigers though. I went to last years game at HSC. As an aside, it was a beautiful venue for college football. Our D did a pretty good job of holding the Tigers to 17 points. Our downfall was on O. We could not get anything going. Saturday, it will be passing vs rushing. The D will determine the outcome. The Waspers have won 2 games in the waning seconds. They have seen adversity and have the grit to win. But, HSC is proven. The only reason that I give the edge to the Waspers is that HSC has to travel, and the Waspers are at home. Hope that those traveling have a safe trip and an enjoyable afternoon at Fred Selfe Stadium. WM

Jeremybozz,

Thanks for keeping up with the pick-em board.  It adds to the fun of the season.

Especially when you are 34-6 and have a 4 game lead on the field. Right 85? ;D

Thanks for the props.  It does seem to make it more fun.

Jacketlawyer,

I would have to agree with your analysis of the Jackets so far this season.  I think we have finally found some offense and the defense seems to be progressing by the week.

There are a couple of things that bother me though

1)  Where are the Jackets going to turn for offense when teams start blanketing Peoples?  While throwing the ball is great, distribution has to come into the equation eventually.  Out of Faulkner's 29 passes thrown on Saturday, 23 of them were to Peoples.  That only works for so long.

2)  What happened to the RMC running game?  I know with the loss of Thornton the running game was supposed to take a hit, but not to the effect it has.  Macon went to having one of the best ground games in the conference to running for 70 yards over the weekend?  At some point Macon is going to need that run game, its just a matter of when.

3)  Macon has gone from one of the stingiest defenses against the run to almost dead last in the conference giving up over 180 yards a game on the ground.

All that being said....I think the Jackets have turned themselves into one heck of a team.  I'm excited to get up to see them throw the ball around a bit in a couple of weeks.  Don't know if anyone has checked the ODAC report lately and seen the standings - could we come down and have another championship decided at The Game?????

I would predict that Randolph Macon will still have an opportunity to win the Championship at The Game.  They get HSC and E&H at home this year.

The Quakers have five ODAC games remaining, but it's always tough to lose the first conference game of the year, especially to the preseason favorite.  Basically, you're already out of the conference race at 10 pm on Sept 26!   Even if you both finish with one loss, they hold the head-to-head tie-breaker.  I'm not saying GC is a contender.  On the contrary, I understand Guilford will probably finish in the bottom tier ... I have, however, seen the Quakers improve and I think they'll be a spoiler for someone else.

GC has BC away, W&L at home, RMC at home, CUA away and E&H at home.  I predict the Quakers will win one or two of those.  :)

Guilford showed some good things against HSC in less than ideal conditions.  I don't think that they will be winless in the ODAC.

Granted, SVU isn't a good football team, but I saw some positive things there as well.  I also don't think Guilford will be 0-6 in ODAC play ... personally, I see perhaps 3-7, 2-4.

Skoal, you going to the Liberty/JMU game?   I'll be at BC Saturday, with rain gear, anybody else making it in  for the Lycoming game?
I am planning on being at the BC game.  I have a cheese bread round and a cherry strudel like I bring to the Stagg Bowl and 2 kinds of brownies.  I don't have a tent but I have a table.  What else and who else is coming?  Let's hope for a break in the rain!!

If it wasn't for Kevin's team being 6-0 and going to the Suburban Youth Championship rounds, this would have been the year to get the BC experience. (at least at BC) Had plenty of Stone Station hospitality over the years but never in it's intended environment. Sounds like your stubborn as ever (opps, dedicated as ever (:>) ) Raider2019 is now significantly taller, just in the last few weeks. Big enough to have become the ball control tailback when we're trying to hold on to a lead. He still has two weeks of regular season and three weeks of playoff. If they finish 8-0 we get a bye week so we'll see. I'll be headed to the Grandfather Mountain area in NC towards Thanksgiving to stay with my best friend for a while and hopefully see an Appalachian State game. Check your PM's.   Have fun WesleyDad. If Mount get sto Salem again, we'll be there. This time with the whole family, including wife EightiesZippy (Akron Zips)
Missed the HS game as I was a guest at the local hospital for that week.  Such a crowded social schedule I have!!  I didn't get out until the game was over and done with.  But I heard that we crashed and burned.  Hopefully we got it out of our system and we can move on.  I am planning on going to E & H on the bus.  This weekend is Fall Break and I can't wait.  I intend to sleep the whole time!!
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

Another away game in the rain for HSC.  Again, I am happy for the field turf installed at Emory and Henry.  Go Tigers.

The HSC at Emory and Henry game is featured on today's Triple Take on the front page.

Since I've never met most all of the H-SC and E&H posters on here, if anyone is going to be at the game this weekend and wants to say hi, drop me a note at ryan.tipps@d3football.com.

Looking forward to a good one!

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

Looks like the weather is going to be better than the experts predicted.  Slight chance of rain while the game is going on but could be a little wet while tailgating.

Hope it is a good, clean and safe game for all.

Jeremybozz

The HSC offense vs the E&H defense should be great to watch.
Go E&H
