The Jackets really looked good today.  The rushing attack worked beautifully with the offensive line doing a good job blocking to allow the runners to get good yardage and that set up the passing game which they managed to score a couple of TDs with.  The Yellowjacket defense came up big in the red zone a couple of times especially in the 2d half when it looked like the Wasps were going to score from the one yard line.   That magnificent goal line stand denied the Wasps a score and essentially the ball game was over at that point.  Complete game for the Jackets - good running, good passing, good defense, good kicking with a couple of field goals.  Emory and Henry didn't look bad but they seemed not mentally prepared for what RMC threw at them.  Jennings was held all game to only a few yards but he had one or two runs where you could tell he's a good, fast running back.  The main thing for the Wasps was they just couldn't score when they got the ball down deep in RMC territory and never seemed to get on track the entire game.  The Yellowjackets looked really prepared for this game and they executed well.  Big win for the Jackets!!

After returning home from my trip to Bridgewater for their homecoming game against Guilford, I am even more impressed with my hosts than after my last 2 trips to the Stagg Bowl.  I can not say thank you enough to the great people of Stone Station.  I arrived at 930 to a grassy area on campus already buzzing with activity.  Rv's around the edges with tents and tables set in the middle waiting for the days festivities.  There were grills and pots smoking with some of the days fantastic food already going.  They also already had a fire pit going to add to the ambiance of the day.  As the morning continued, with no rain, more and more ex-Bridgewater players and their familes began showing up.  As this was happening the core members of Stone Station were still moving around like a well oiled machine, greating new arrivals while at the same time making sure that the food was ready.  The fellowship that I saw exhibited by these fine people was more than impressive to me.  The food was impressive also, salads, deserts, and the usual sides at a barbeque were present, but the main choices were great, smoked chicken, fried turkey, seafood gumbo, and my personal favorite, pulled pork which had been smoking since 6 the night before.  The rub that Skoal uses and the sauce that he and his father have made kept him busy most of the day, pulling some more as the tray continued emptying.  The trip was more than I expected and it will be on the calender for next year and years to come.  I now have names with the faces, but for fear of forgetting someone I would again like to thank all the core members of Stone Station for welcoming me as one of your own.  Oh yeah, there was a game and despite losing I was impressed by the QB and the receiver,#1, from Guilford.  Best wishes to all of Stone Station for the rest fo the season and I will see you in Roanoke.

Congratulations to BC!  Fortunately, my Mom's 80th Birthday bash was a success and kept my mind off the game until very late in the day.  lol  Hopefully, the Quakers can play competitively and maybe even get a win or two down the stretch.  I must admit, however, I can hear those basketballs bouncing in Ragan-Brown!  :)

Congrats to BC on the win and thanks to Stone Station for the great food and hospitality!   I believe the weather forecast kept some back but it was good seeing everyone that came out.

My friend that came with me is still talking about Skoal's famous sauce and plans on taking the hour drive from Halifax to Lynchburg to see if he can steal the recipe!  :D
