B'water punts, someone runs into Jennings and ball is muffed.  B'water ball at the 20 with about a minute to go.

Game over.  Bridgewater 38, E&H 34.  Does anybody know of a potential scenario that would allow E&H to win the conference, or are we mathematically eliminated at this point?

You were eliminated from the playoffs after last week, actually (though technically you could have had a share of the ODAC title, I suppose). After losing to R-MC, that gave you two conference losses. The worst Hampden-Sydney could have done was two conference losses down through these last four weeks because they had a bye week and a nonconference game left. So even if H-SC would have lost their last two conference games, they still would have held the head-to-head 4-2 conference record over the Wasps.

Now, with yet another E&H loss and an H-SC win, there's no chance you'll even have a share of the title. Sorry, just the messenger.  :)

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

Thanks, Ryan.  No need to shoot you, I just hadn't sat down yet and tried to figure it all out.

Is it to early to start the "bring back dewey lusk" campaign?

First, congratulations to W&L!  The Generals capitalized on all the gifts Guilford gave them.  Their 14-0 halftime lead was the direct result of three GC turnovers that gave them starting positions of the 29, 30 and, I think, the 19!  Throw in a 99-yard kickoff return in the second half just seconds after Guilford tied it at 14 and, well, you get the picture.  Oh, did I mention our two missed FGs?  :)  There were five games I circled on the schedule this season that I gave the Quakers a chance to win:  Greensboro (we lost 12-7 when our last drive failed at the one), Methodist (we lost 20-19 when they hit a 40 yarder in the last minute and we missed a 40-yarder on the last play), SVU (we won 48-6), W&L (see above) and CUA (TBD).  Some of the plays and momentum-killers we do are, to me, just unexplicable.  For example, if a punt's about to die in another yard and you're surrounded by the kicking team, why do you try to pick it up?  All I can do is laugh and wait for basketbal season ... some seasons are just longer than others.  :)

What is the deal with HSC's offense ? Anybody at the game that can respond ?

Did RMC play today ?

So what is the deal with the ODAC ? I guess three teams are in the deal; HSC, RMC, & Bridgwater. I assume that only HSC& RMC control the deal. Either team wins out, they win the ODAC; right ? What happens if Bridgewater beats RMC and RMC beats HSC ?

About this; does HSC stand a chance at an at large if they beat Salisbury and lose to RMC ?

Any feed back is appreciated.

ODAC chances at a Pool C bid will be better understood when the Regional Rankings come out on Wednesday.

The HSC - Catholic game was played in a total downpour for the second half.  The first half was rain free and Catholic lead 7 - 0 at the half.  I bet Catholic had over 20 min time of possession in the first half.  HSC had a fumble after a catch, an INT on a tipped ball and Catholic had some first downs to control the ball.  After the first drive Catholic did not threaten unless it was after a turnover.  Turnovers kept HSC from having success in the first half and weather kept them from having success in the second half.  HSC had some injuries that kept starters from playing all or a large part of the game.  I don't know if they were resting players, playing it safe or if the injuries were really serious.  The bye week comes at a good time.

Congratulations to Bridgewater on their win today -- Coach Clark's 100th since he started at BC in 1995.

It is especially impressive seeing he took over a program that had won 121 games over its first 63 seasons.

It was also his 54th ODAC win in 15 seasons. Prior to his arrival, BC had only 19 ODAC wins over the first 19 seasons since the conference's inception in 1976.

Again, congrats to Coach Clark. Great coach, and an even better man.

Kid, what was the predecessor conference to the ODAC for small college ball in Virginia?
