To Llamaguy and all at Stone Station,
Just wanted you to know that I just booked my flight and hotel for the Stagg Bowl.  A special treat this year will be that Roocru and Crualum39 will both be bringing our wives.  :D
Any idea when will the starting time for the game be announced?

RooCRU!  I just checked the ncaa.com websited and clicked on the link to buy tickets.  Ticketmaster is showing 12/19 with an 11:00 a.m. start time.  Ouch!  I don't like it that early but I guess there is not much we can do to change it.  And that will be great!  A chance to meet the Ladies.  I just hope Whitewater doesn't make it.  That would be an odd feeling if our "buddies" came.

Looking forward to it.  See you in 45 days!

I'm sure 11:00 AM is tough on getting the tailgate set up. At least playing in the middle of the day, it should be a little warmer. I can hear the WW and MU folks screaming WUSSIE.  :D  Dec weather in VA is tee shirt and shorts weather in Wisconsin.....right? Skoal or Llama....you guys going to buy a block of tix like in the past? If so, put me down for two please. I'd be happy to send you a check ahead of time. Just want to make sure I get a spot with the party people.  ;)
With all due respect to my WW and MU friends.......GOOOOO ANY COLOR BUT PURPLE!!! OK.....I can live with the CRU making it.  ;D

Bridgewater can take out their frustrations on RMC on Saturday and eliminate the Jackets but I bet the ODAC Commissioner would not shed any tears if RMC wins out to claim the ODAC crown and Hampden Sydney wins its out of conference matchup then falls in The Game to go 9-1 and claims an at large bid(keeping it simple here Pool B and Pool C experts).
I think that would be the first time with 2 ODAC teams in the playoffs since 2000 when Emory & Henry got the AQ and Bridgewater got an at large NCAA bid.

In my opinion, if the Tigers lose at Randolph-Macon, they have only a very slim chance of getting a Pool C bid.

There are only 6 Pool C's to go around and I think that a few of them are pretty much already taken:

  • Mary Hardin Baylor
  • OAC Runnerup
  • CCIW Runnerup

Might depend on how badly they beat Salisbury in Week 10 and how close they came to beating Macon, but their chances of a Pool C bid would not be good.

Personally, I think HSC would have a decent shot at a Pool C. That in region win over NC Wesleyan looks better and better every week.
Now, if Averett wins out and claims the AQ (I know CNU beat Averett and is still alive in the USAC)then certainly the Tigers chances would diminish in a big way.

The ODAC pick  em board is updated. Enjoy.

I'd like to see everyone's thoughts on this going into the last two weeks of the regular season:

Anyone got front-runners for POY and COY?

I have an opinon but I'm going to hold mine for a few posts.

Actually, I don't think the Tigers will need to worry about getting a Pool C bid, because they'll win the ODAC conference championship unless Randolph-Macon (5-3) can somehow find a way to beat both Bridgewater (6-2) on the 7th and Hampden-Sydney (8-0) on the 14th.

How badly they beat Salisbury?  Hmm....H-SC had better be careful....

GO CAPS!

HSC85

HSC will have to play one of the best games of the year to win this weekend.  Salisbury is the most physical team that HSC faces and they have played the toughest schedule.  The results are not what they have been in years past but they are still a dangerous team.  Don't look ahead Tigers.  Take care of business this weekend.

Jeremybozz

Hampden Sydney is #2 in the south over Thomas More(who got the AQ in their conference already.)

I'm just glad we get them at HSC this year. As for next season, we'll cross that bridge (literally) when we come to it.

This will be my first trip to Jopson Field this season.
Bridgewater can't win the ODAC AQ but we can gain a share of the ODAC crown with 2 wins and a HSC loss at Macon.
Bridgewater will be relying on some 3 rd stringers today due to injuries.
Go Eagles.
Do HSC fans want to win the ODAC today or wait until The Game?

Why wait ... backing in still gets you there.   ;)
GO EAGLES!

Final from DC:  Guilford 42, Catholic 21.  GC had a balanced attack:  2  TDs passing, 3 TDs rushing and 3 FGs.  A nice come-from-behind victory as the Quakers outscored the Cardinals 22-0 in the 2nd half.  Congratulations to GC as they move to 3-6, 2-3, while CUA falls to 1-8, 0-5.  Next Saturday, GC finishes at home with E&H while CUA travels to BC.

I just looked at the stats from the GC at CUA game and Guilford intercepted Catholic 6 times.  I'm not sure if that's a school record, but I'm certain SID Dave Walters will look it up.  That, only one GC turnover (a fumble) and 35:45 to 24:15 TOP were probably the keys to the win.

Well, it looks like the ODAC Championship Game will be played next week in Ashland!

HSC wins over Salisbury by 45 points today, 59-14.
