I thought you guys would want to know this. In today's Winchester Star paper it said that a major announcement and sources to the paper said it will be about expansion into the ODAC. It also said that ODAC commissioner Brad Bankston told the paper that a decision would be made Wednesday regarding SU's status. We have been down this road before but it looks like the ODAC has finally invited all of SU's teams into the league and not just football. It wont make much sense if SU goes into the ODAC as just football members for it would force the other teams to be without a home as the USAC has said it would not grant such a move.

It was great to be down at the fence when Caleb changed directions AGAIN and had a wall of blockers available if he needed them....he didn't.

Wow.  Just viewed the E&H run - impressive!  And the Quakes still have to play the Wasps.  Yikes!  Nice looking field also.  Kudos to all the ODAC teams who've made serious upgrades to facilities the past few years!

We'll see if it happens tomorrow.  An eight team football conference would be nice.  In other men's sports, such as basketball, there would now be 12 teams, so I can see it being split into two 6-team divisions.   Maybe put all the I-81 teams (BC, EMU, E&H. RoC, SU, W&L) in a West Division and the balance (GC, HSC, LC, RaC, RMC, VWC) in an Eastern Division.  I still see a 16-game conference schedule with each team meeting the other five division members home and away and playing the six teams in the other division once each.   Three of those games at home and three on the road with alternating venues every other year.  That way, you also keep a lot of the traditional rivalries (RMC/HSC, EMU/BC, LC/RaC, GC/VWC) on the burner twice a year!

I just caught the TV3 Winchester sports broadcast over the net and their sports guy stated that SU's AD is quoted ...

"It's the biggest thing to ever to happen to SU"

Sounds like SU is moving into the ODAC.

I'd like to welcome the Shenandoah Hornets to the ODAC.  Guilford to Shenandoah will be some long trips!  lol  Of course, we go to Catholic every other year.

True enough hasa, but it could be worse. EVERY trip for E&H is a long one. As a matter of fact, they might be closer to Maryville than any school in the ODAC (except maybe Roanoke or Hollins).

I'm looking forward for SU to move into the ODAC. I wish it was next year that they were doing this but I can understand that they need time to make up the schedules. SU is going to have to do something however in terms of adjusting to the high octane offences that the ODAC traditionally has each year. I do love the idea of having a 2 division east/west format for basketball. The I 81 idea would be a great idea.

i know i am getting ahead of this week, but i can not wait until next weekends homecoming game between bridgewater and hampden sydney.  making the trip to hang out with my stagg bowl family, stone station.  looking forward to some great grubb, pulled pork i hope from skoaltrain, chicken, and fried turkey, etc.  party on, i will bring some good micro brew beer to add to the festivities, see you in a week.
