I have a nephew getting married that day and I'll be at the game supporting my Tigers and my son.
So step it up, unless it's your wedding !!!!!!
No, it's not my wedding (because, among other things, I would check the home football schedule first!), but there is a woman involved.  She already hints she's #3 behind Guilford sports and my '68 Nova.  On some days and for a few weak moments, she may be temporarily right, but I can't just outright hand her the proof - then I might be "wasanova".  :)

or, perhaps worse, "hadawoman"

off topic a bit, but i was watching some car show on tv the other day, and they referred to a '68 or '69 nova ss as a "late 60's supercar"...and i thought of you (because of your affinity for the nova, not your supercar-like personality) - personally, i never thought of the nova as a supercar, but i guess if it had a 396 it could be pretty beastly

"hadawoman" - it does work, doesn't it?  Too bad NC only allows 8 characters on the license plate.  :)

A Nova in '68 and '69 had many different personalities, from anemic in-line 6's to "beastly" SS 396 ci/375 hp V-8's.  Throw a Yenko into the mix and some of them were supercars.  From the factory, mine was an entry level 307 ci V-8, which took the place of the old Chevy 283 small block.  Without increasing the 3.875 " bore and by using the longer 4" stroke from the 327, the 307 was born.  I replaced the stock 2-bbl Rochester carburetor and manifold with an Edelbrock 1406 4-bbl (600CFM), added a new cam and electronic ignition and replaced the stock 1.75" single exhaust with 2" duals and less restrictive mufflers (read louder).  I think I've increased the horsepower from the base 200 to about 260 or so.  Novas got lost a little in that era with Chevelles and Camaros, but there are fan clubs such as National Nostalgic Nova.  A perfectly restored or really rare high-performance Nova might push $100,000.  Mine's not worth that kind of money, but it attracts attention when I drive it. :)

Big game for the Tigers versus NCW....They can't be the same team
I saw at The Game against R-M last season. This will be a test to see
what HSC has and if the Bishops are still pushing their program to the top,
even after the trip to Ohio last week. Good Luck to the Tigers.

W&L tops Sewanee 31 to 14 with one Sewanee TD coming in garbage time. Strong performance by W&L, although against a truly lopsided Sewanee team. Sewanee went 2 for 6 passing for 14 yards, all 14 coming in the garbage time drive. After last week's penalty debacle against F&M, it's nice to see W&L recover to give up only 2 penalties for 20 yards. That's more in line with the team from last year. 306 rushing yards and a surprising 108 through the air for the Generals while holding Sewanee 256 yards, with 66 on the last drive. W&L now goes to +6 turnover margin for the year, picking up 2 and giving up a fumble. Interesting that F&M did nothing but pass last week while Sewanee did nothing but run this week. Two very different teams, two good wins for the Generals. A nice performance, though I suspect Centre on the road next week will be the toughest test yet.

At the Half:  HSC 35 UNCW 0  Totally one sided.  UNCW only has 67 yards of offense at halftime.
Congratulations to the Tigers for thumping NC Wesleyan College, 56-7.  HSC must be loaded again this season!  Just in case anyone's confused, there is another school called UNCW (UNC-Wilmington), but the DI Seahawks don't have football.  Hope you don't mind the clarification, HSC85.  :)

Phew, BC pulls out the win at SU - 28-23. Gritty win for the Eagles. More opinion to come later (I watched it online).

Another good week for the ODAC; 6-1 (Guilford the lone loss).

Next week, the ODAC schedule looks favorable as well. It would be remarkable for our conference to be 19-1 through the first three weeks.

Thanks for the corection Hasa.
No problem.  North Carolina is an alphabet soup of schools and initials. It'll be even worse when UNC-Charlotte's team gets going (next year, I think), although their preferred name now seems to be simply Charlotte.  At any rate, a great start for the talented Tigers!

I expect to see the Tigers move up to probably #23 or #24 in the next d3football poll.  Great start for the Tigers!

They should get another win on Saturday at home (Parents Weekend) against Ferrum, unless the Panthers are able to pull off a huge upset at Everett Stadium, and then the Tigers'll make a tough road trip to visit Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama the following week to play a team that was 6-4 last year and made the NCAA tournament the year before (getting a Pool B bid).

ODAC play for the Tigers begins in 3 weeks.

Round One

Everyone is going to look at HSCs points totals and think it's all offense, but the defense limited the Bishops to 12 first quarter plays while the offense did what an HSC offense usually does. Travis Lane and Kyle Vance were on fire.

Actually, it is NCWC (North Carolina Wesleyan College) Unfortunately, it is not a part of the UNC system. We tried, but failed. Boy, did we get our butt's kicked last Saturday!!!
The only easy day was yesterday

ironically, i think uncw (unc-wilmington) actually has a club team - they might have put up 67 yards at halftime vs. hsc

it was a tough weekend for the usasac pre-season favorites with cnu getting beat by a first-year stevenson team and the aforementioned hsc victory over ncwc...
