Generals take the short field and easily score a TD. While it puts the Generals up 52-42, Bridgewater still has 2 minutes to work with. Generals over 600 yards, with 450 on the ground and many of the 160 passing yards coming from shuffle passes. Generals have 3 rushers over 100 yards. Eagles start on their own 35, one completion followed by an interception as the Generals finally get to the QB and rush the throw.

Generals take over at their own 47 with 1:31 to go and no Bridgewater time outs. Generals take a couple knees to end the game. Even with the negative kneel downs, the Generals stay over 600 yards on the day. The offense still hasn't been stopped this season, though credit to E&H for keeping them out of the endzone.

Unfortunately the defense continues to bleed points and big plays, so the offense needs to be perfect. Two turnovers on Bridgewater a big difference in this game, though they could have had several more. Bridgewater's QB got a lot of help from Anthony Carter who was an absolute stud in a losing effort, and unfortunately got very little help from his receivers. I'm thinking neither team appreciated the refs.

The Tigers are off this weekend; hopefully I'll be able to enjoy a round of golf unless I can find a good ODAC game to attend. Where is the best game this weekend?

Did you get to either the W&L or Catholic game yesterday? Both would have been great games to go see. E&H is a couple unlucky breaks away from having been undefeated in the ODAC, instead they are lagging the group. Catholic is a few 4th quarters from a very bad season, but instead are plowing along quite well. We'll see if their 4th quarter heroics will hold up in Lexington this upcoming weekend.

While I only saw the W&L game I'd easily vote Anthony Carter an offensive MVP for the week in Bridgewater's losing effort. He was unbelievable; scoring, hitting long runs, catching passes when needed. The only thing he did wrong was throw an interception out of the wildcat, which I would lay on the coaching staff not the player. I'd add him to E&H's punter a few weeks ago as the two people so far who have come closest to derailing the Generals.

Loving the balance in the ODAC this year. It seems like almost every game (minus Guilford's tough season) is hanging in the balance until late. A very entertaining year for ODAC fans.

Did not get up to Lexington. Sounds like I missed a good game. I took the weekend off and actually played a round of golf !!! I hate off weekends; much rather have been watching my Tigers.

Lucky man. I haven't played golf since before my daughter was born and she just turned 2! Fortunately I can flip on the W&L game on the laptop and wander around the house keeping her busy and an eye on the screen at the same time!

ODAC names W&L qb Charlie Westfal the offensive player of the week for the second straight week. While I do agree Westfal had a great week, I personally want to give a shout out to Anthony Carter. I said it in a bunch of posts, he was incredible for Bridgewater and if you can find his two long, tackle breaking runs and his one long reception somewhere online they are worth a look.

Congrats to Miniard Culpepper from Catholic for the defensive player of the week award.

I wish the coaches were allowed to hang film here. It would be great to game plan our picks. If we have 90 hours a week to do it like most coaches weeks ;D

Sometimes you can find the stuff on youtube. i haven't looked for any W&L game tape. I have to admit, I prefer the eenie meenie minie moe method for my picks!

Our poor board seems to have died as the chances for teams other than W&L and H-SC to win the ODAC have dropped off. I can't say I blame people since I never even came looking for these boards until last year when the Generals picked up some steam.

Is it too early to start thinking about what the addition of Shenandoah will do for the conference next year? And is Shenandoah a "replacement" for associate member Catholic? Of all the ODAC schools, Catholic is geographically and in terms of size, the least likely fit. With Frostburg, Salisbury, Stevenson and Wesley all playing football I wonder if Catholic might end up in a football playing CAC in the future.

We are really lucky that the ODAC is such an easy one-stop shop for our teams. Very few sports have to look outside the slate offered by the ODAC. I think for W&L it is wrestling and men's swimming and I think the only sport we don't compete in is softball, which I would like to see W&L add.

Concur on all

Damn Cardinals ;)

Agreed, but you can also add the Bowties and Tigers to the damned list...

In my time at W&L we never beat E&H. In fact, from '83 to '01 we didn't beat E&H. That streak included 3 shutouts and a total of 7 games where W&L scored 10 points or less. I can't say I'm sad to see Wasper feeling uncharitable toward the Generals these days! Regardless of how this season shakes out, it's been a great run for the Generals. With Westfal graduating I wonder what will happen next in Lexington.

By the way, since we already have the Wasps, Yellow Jackets and Hornets, has there been any more talk about Shenandoah changing their nickname (Hornets)? I know it was mentioned at one time in conjunction with joining the ODAC. We sure are heavy on stinging insects!

Isn't the pre-SAA split SCAC real heavy on the Tigers too?  :)

Funny how that happens. I'm voting for the Shenandoah University Red Ants. It sticks with the theme while branching out in a whole new direction!

My current favorite, however, is the Sweet Briar College Vixens. That makes me smile every time I read it in a report on a W&L-SBC event...

I sort of like the Mary Baldwin College Squirrels.  If you ever meet an alumna, she'll proudly say she's a "Squirrel Girl"!

The Squirrels are good too, but the Vixens... well, that's just fabulous.

Anyway, Catholic at W&L getting underway in about 10 minutes. Looks like weather will be a factor in Lexington. 40 degrees and raining but at least the wind doesn't look too bad. Catholic is a passing team this season (2300 yards through the air versus just 500 on the ground) so the sloppy weather may make a tough road game even harder. I expect the Generals to give a steady dose of Luke Heinsohn up the middle if conditions continue to stay tough.

For anyone else interested, the game can be watched here:

Not much of a first quarter in Lexington. Generals scored TDs on all three drives, including using a second string qb, second string skill players, and a mix of first and second string o-lineman on the third drive. Catholic has just had no answer for the Generals offense as they have wracked up 232 yards on those three drives. 194 yards on the ground for the Generals so far.

For Catholic's offense, the best you can say so far is that they are getting great field position on kick returns. Cardinals have yet to start inside their own 35. Catholic did have a bad snap/partial block field goal on their second drive. Catholic has the ball around midfield, but they are down 21-0.

If Catholic is holding out for another fourth quarter comeback they are going to have to find a way to stop the Generals offense soon.
