Congrats to Guilford on the conference win.  The conference is stronger when every team is competitive.
Thanks, HSC85.  I agree.  I exchanged some emails this morning with Coach Rusiewicz and he's trying to build some momentum at season's end.  It's a tribute to him and his coaches that the team is working - and playing - this hard this deep in the season.  He feels a good showing versus E&H will propel the Quakers into a favorable position for off-season workouts and recruiting.  Good luck to the Tigers in the playoffs and play well in The Game.

Great game Saturday at Death Valley. Could not ask for a more exciting second half. Congrats to W&L on a really good season.
HSC needs to win Saturday to avoid traveling to a one or two seed (my opinion).

Congrats to the Guilford Quakers on their big win and for not throwing in the towel. Character will win some games and it appears that program is now on the upswing. Time tells all, it will be interesting to see what happens in Greensboro in the next couple of years.

Anybody seem RMC and HSC this year ? What should we expect ?

If H-SC plays like they did against W&L, solid, mistake free football, they will not have much problem with R-MC. If R-MC gets the turnovers that never came against W&L, the game could be a toss-up. R-MC is a good football team, they just aren't as good as H-SC. Expect two teams that play very similar styles, but the better athletes and execution SHOULD be on H-SC's side. I know it's a rivalry game, and H-SC could have a let down after the W&L game the way they almost looked past Guilford, but it really shouldn't be a major problem for the Tigers.

This. A couple of turnovers could have changed the H-SC/W&L game, but H-SC's offense executed the entire game. If they execute the way they did against the Generals (and cut out some silly penalties), they shouldn't have any problem with R-MC.

I think Guilford hired the right coach.  He has character, he will hire character, he will recruit character and he will build character.  The improvement is already there.

Good analysis; not much to add.  The fact that it's a rivalry game is the x factor and I've seen some crazy things happen over the 28 years I've been going to this game.  But the brutal reality of the Pedro-Marty series is that Pedro has won once over the last seven years and I don't expect win number two this Saturday.  Marty has his number.

Having said that, GO JACKETS. 8-)

For R-MC and H-SC fans alike planning on attending THE GAME, take note of traffic patterns and road closures in Ashland on Saturday.

That works for me!  We haven't gotten the Wasps since 2007.  :)

Just went over to www.ehc.edu to check the status of the Wasps for tomorrow's game and came across this paragraph:

"Our Division III athletic programs claim a long winning tradition in one of the nation's toughest conferences, the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. We provide 13 sports, seven for women and seven for men. Our men's sports include baseball, basketball, cross country, football, soccer and tennis. Women's sports include basketball, cross country, soccer, swimming, tennis and volleyball. Our sports camps provide opportunities for student athletes to work with younger students who are thinking about college athletics. Information about the progress of our teams and other information for E&H sports fans is located at GoWasps.com."

First, 7 and 7 equals 14.  To make matters even more confusing, baseball, basketball, cross country, football, soccer and tennis for men equals six sports while basketball, cross country, soccer, swimming, tennis and volleyball also equals six for women.  Is the Webmaster on sabbatical this semester?  :)

Saturday'sgame should be a good one. I have been really impressed with what the Quakes have been able to pull together in the past two games. The Waspers have had a coulda, shoulda, woulda kind of season. I will not get into that. I will say that the Waspers have fought to the final bell in every game that they have played. They puckered up the Tigers and Generals and got beat by the Cardinals and Eagles. On a downer note, the game with the Quakes will be my son's final college football game. He has anchored an oline that has been pretty stingy in the sack department. I would have hoped for more "W's" and fewer "L's." However, he has enjoyed 4 years of ODAC Football, has stayed relatively healthy and will graduate in May with 2 degrees. I have visited every beautiful ODAC Campus and most of the USA South Campuses. All of the fans have been great. Never an ill word from anyone... (alot more than I can say about the 1 NAIA school that we played this year!) The Quakes may win on Saturday. I pray for safety for all, and my son, #70 will always be a champion in my heart... regardless of the outcome.  Go Wasps!!

Hasa, I will try to look you up. I'll have on a Wasp jersey ... #70.

And that is what it is all about. Congrats to you and your son. The memories of playing the game will last far longer than the actual record. Enjoy the game!
