Upset special this week is GC-Q

Anything that flies... dies (this weekend) :)
That works for me!  We haven't gotten the Wasps since 2007.  :)
Saturday'sgame should be a good one. I have been really impressed with what the Quakes have been able to pull together in the past two games. The Waspers have had a coulda, shoulda, woulda kind of season. I will not get into that. I will say that the Waspers have fought to the final bell in every game that they have played. They puckered up the Tigers and Generals and got beat by the Cardinals and Eagles. On a downer note, the game with the Quakes will be my son's final college football game. He has anchored an oline that has been pretty stingy in the sack department. I would have hoped for more "W's" and fewer "L's." However, he has enjoyed 4 years of ODAC Football, has stayed relatively healthy and will graduate in May with 2 degrees. I have visited every beautiful ODAC Campus and most of the USA South Campuses. All of the fans have been great. Never an ill word from anyone... (alot more than I can say about the 1 NAIA school that we played this year!) The Quakes may win on Saturday. I pray for safety for all, and my son, #70 will always be a champion in my heart... regardless of the outcome.  Go Wasps!!

Hasa, I will try to look you up. I'll have on a Wasp jersey ... #70.

I'll look for you.  I may be around the Quaker Club tent a lot since I'm helping out there - it'll be to the left of the home stands just outside the gate as you look from the visitor side.  At that vantage point, you can see the game just fine.

The Game is upon us; may both teams play well and free of injury and may the TIGERS notch their 10th victory in the past twelve years !!!!!

Go Tigers

"free of injury"

Concur with that; however, Nova deserves to be able to strut around a little

Nova doesn't come across as a man that likes to strut, but if he must, I've got his back. He has supported his Quakers through some pretty difficult times and I think he is seeing light at the end of the tunnel; maybe it's a train but none-the-less, there is light !!!!

Tell your son congrats and that he played an excellent game today.  Always nice to end the year with a win.

Good luck to HSC next week.  The ODAC needs a playoff win.

H-SC's loss today makes that a very difficult proposition. They are probably a 7 or 8 seed, so I'm thinking if they stay in the South they round out the Tx sub-division or have a game at Wesley. Probably the best we can hope for is a game at JHU as a 7 seed. Pretty crushing blow to the ODAC playoff hopes today.

And lest I forget while pondering the downside implications, congrats to R-MC on winning a huge rivalry game! Great effort!

True and thanks.  +1

Quakers were down a touchdown to E&H with a quarter to go, but a few turnovers in the wrong end of the field led to the final E&H scores.  Mildly disappointed in E&H coaching decision to kick a FG with 26 seconds to go in a 30-6 game that was already decided.  I would have taken a knee.  The opposing coach usually remembers later when the tables are turned.  :)  E&H was the better team today, nonetheless, and congratulations to them for finishing 5-5.  GC finished at 2-8 with an ODAC win, so some noticeable improvement over 2010.

Congratulations to R-MC and their fans on a well-played game and a well-earned win.
As for H-SC ... typical; can't handle a little success. All we can hope for now is that the committee puts Salisbury in the South and sends us there. At least we have played and beaten them in the past. If we get sent to Dover or Texas, we'll be toast. (No pun intended).

Hasa, first, please accept my apologies for not getting by to see you. I got tied up with friends before the game and at half. Most of the game was defined by two hard fighting defenses. I was noticing particularly #55, as he played nose tackle on many of the plays. I spoke to him after the game to congratulate him on his play. Without a doubt, your program is going in the right direction. With the number of freshmen and sophs starting, the Quakers have alot to look forward to in the next year or so. I have no explanation for the FG with 27 secs remaining. I scratched my head as well. I just know that Coach Monty is not a rub your face in the dirt kind of person. I just don't know. For what it is worth, I offer my apologies for that play.

On an up note, my prayer was answered ... There were no serious injuries during the game. My parting thought is to thank all of the posters on this board. You have added to my enjoyment of 4 years of ODAC football. Best of luck to the Tigers. Bring us an ODAC "W" in the playoffs!!  WM

Congratulations to RMC for a well played game.  The Jackets outplayed the Tigers in every aspect of the game today and earned the victory.

I also want to compliment the RMC staff and fans for being good hosts.  I know this game with the crowd is like no other that you have during any two year period.  Well done.

It was discussed briefly a couple weeks ago on this thread about any future plans for Hampden-Sydney and Wabash to play each other in football. When I was back in Indiana this past weekend for a Wabash game, I talked with some of the Wabash folks and they told me that a couple feelers have been put out about such a matchup. It's a big change from the mentality of three or four years ago when few were interested in such a game (I talked with both WC and H-SC back then).

Of course, the people over the weekend said cost (it would be a plane trip) is the biggest hindrance, but Wabash does have a big alumni base in D.C., so I bet they'd be able to come close to filling the stands. Not sure if, because of Wabash's location, we'd get the same response if the game were held in Indiana (assuming a home-away contract), but that would certainly put to the test H-SC's fan base and see if they travel well! :)

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.
